I was away from school on the day that we did "rhetorical" and never seem to be able to get it right. But that aside, surely synchronising images and sound is part of the creative process? In AV circles they call it "Photo Harmony" and in a competition scenario marks would be given (or taken away) for good or bad Synchronisation. At what point in a transition do you want the beat to occur? Beginning? Middle? End? Is this not where the creative bit comes into play? I have no objections to anyone using these devices but see it as another nail in the coffin. I'm not sure if this analogy works but here goes. During a long time spent working in bands of all descriptions, I have had to play with "Drum Machines" and Drummers of varying capabilities. The Drum Machine is super accurate and there are versions which are capable of "human feel" but give me a drummer of average capability any day. Knowing when to hold back "off the beat" or "force the pace" is where it gets creative. The method described above allows you to do this and it is worth a try. It is also adjustable after the event. So, if this is a democratic forum allow me to say that I would be against the use of such devices on the grounds that they are, IMHO, counter-creative. Just an opinion. DG

At what point do we cease to be able to say: "All my own work"? DG

65 inch HD TV? Or 4k? If it is HD there is no point in the images being larger than 1920x1080. If there is zooming into the images then calculate the optimum image resolution according to the amount of zoom. Not enough info. DG

Check to see which slide is in the mask. If it is Slide 1 then that is the answer. DG P.S. Note that in the case of the GATE CTs the TO CENTRE versions work and the FROM CENTRE do not. In all circumstances where Slide 1 is a "real" slide and not a Blank Slide they work as predicted. As I said:
-
BB's method works best as long as the "beat" that you are trying to work to is not too fast. In the Timeline, CUT all slides other than Slide 1. PLAY the show in the Mini Viewer and press the "+" button when you want to insert a Slide. You can refine the result using "Shift Transition Points". DG

I am anxious to hear Igor's reply, but I suspect that the answer will be "Yes". Putting a Blank Slide 1 in the Mask Content in a CT is the equivalent of leaving it empty. The visual result is then similar to the Quick Transition. I think that the reason why my CTs works with a Blank Slide 1 is that in all instances I have Slide 2 in the Mask and not Slide 1. DG

J-C, There are obviously still problems with CTs and they apparently do not travel well. Denis said: I know that this is not correct "in general terms" - I test new CTs on two different pcs and in different scenarios. But in specific cases there appear to be problems. More testing of CTs is required. DG

It works perfectly here - please try the exe. CT3.exe DG P.S. Slide one is a true blank and Slide two has a default rectangle. The mask was made in PS.
-
Apologies I did not spot the Rectangle. Please try CT3. Slide one is a true blank slide. CT3.pte

J-C, In the CT2.pte above the CT (Essai copy) has both boxes ticked as per default. Any CT that I have made will operate between a blank slide and any other slide without problem with the default settings. DG

Please try this? CT2.pte DG

The way I read this, Vince is trying to make a 3x2 (or4x3) show look the same in O&A as it would on a 16x9 (?) monitor. This approach would achieve that if a little compromise is acceptable. Apply this style to one or more slides in a 16x9 Project and the play in Preview. The resulting EXE would be at 16x9 aspect ratio. If you take it into O&A you an see the construction. 95%.ptestyle DG

You need to post a link to a "Backup in ZIP" of your project so that someone can look at it and give you some suggestions. DG

Fixing Vertical Position of a Text Box
davegee replied to davegee's topic in Tutorials & Video Lessons
Wes.exe -
.........regardless of the number of lines of text. Add a Frame (Project Resolution) Add a Text Box to the Frame (Parent/Child) Using the CENTRE and PAN Controls in the Animation Tab, "Glue" the top of the Text Box to the top of the Frame (Apply the attached Style and analyse the settings) When multiple lines of text are added the top of the Text Box "sticks" to the top of the Frame. To adjust the Position of the Text on screen, use the Pan Controls for the Frame. Lines of Text.ptestyle DG P.S. The Frame is not essential but gives more options for animation.

The "problem" with this approach is that the Caption Style will overwrite any animation which you may have. The answer is to incorporate any animation that you want together with the Caption Style and make a new Style from that. DG P.S. Demo: Demo Caption Style.ptestyle

Apply a Caption Style, change the font attributes and create a new style based on your changes. DG

I often see requests from tme to time for links to older versions of the PTE Installer. To Save having to look for a previous version this is what I do: The download will look like this - picturestoexe-setup.exe I rename the file to picturestoexe-setup-9-0-15.exe (e.g. for the current version) and Save to a Unique Folder named PTE DOWNLOADS. I can then access this file at any time in the future and go back to this version quite easily if required. I am sure that many of you also do this, but you are not the ones who ask for links to previous versions. DG

Seen on UK TV this morning. The Slide Show was almost identical to the one in the post above. The reduced % Images over a Static Blurred BG. Animation/Video within the bounds of the white stroke line - PTE? :
