It just goes to show that there are many ways of achieving the same objective using PTE, PS and whatever other software you wish to use. You use the the method which seems easiest or most appropriate to you.
-
Lin, I had only envisaged using this for creating titles or short phrases of text, in which case the time taken to recreate the text is minimal. I kept PS, and the "PicturesToExe" text, open while creating this and could think of no reason to save the PS file. But the answer is in your conclusion/ last (but one) sentence. Remember to save the PSD in your PTE project folder. If you wanted to subject longer passages of text such as a "Star Wars" type ending to a show with SeeThrough text then, perhaps , Mur's method is easier for you? But I think that, in that case, the stroke line around the text would be lost because of its size and create a few other problems as well.

The Bridgend Comp, to which I linked above, is a Photo Harmony Comp and there are a few examples of winners there. We might not agree with the judges on these matters, but in this case the brief is "Photo Harmony". DG

Temporary problem with WnSoft.com Server [SOLVED]

This forum was affected for a couple of hours this morning. DG -
Inspired by MUR's recent "CUT OUT" TEXT Style I looked at an alternative method which we played with a few years ago - before Styles. This method relies on the use of Photoshop or any software which will create PNG TEXT. The Demo Style: Text - See Through.ptestyle Add a single 16x9 Image to a 16x9 Project and apply the Style. The Method: Text for PTE.pdf As always, these are just ideas. Feel free to edit or adjust to suit your requirements. Please let me know of any problems?

John, There is probably an organizer in your area who should have access to CDs/DVDs of previous Competitions. Talk nicely to him/her and try to get a copy or loan of one with the results and adjudication notes. I did just that some years ago and had no problem. Try Converting the clips from within the FILE LIST - right click on the File and CONVERT. You can Trim etc there. Then add the CONVERTED File to the Timeline. Does that work?? https://docs.picturestoexe.com/en-us/9.0/video/main DG

Now might be a good time to re-iterate some comments from the early days of the Online Help File. ".......I am inviting anyone who wants to participate to look at where we are now and submit articles and "How To's" which fill the gaps. There are a couple of things that need to be mentioned: 1. If your submission is a "one liner" please submit it here. We don't need suggestions for articles - we need articles. 2. If you are submitting an article (or "How To") it needs to be in Word or .rtf format (PDF perhaps) but the images need to be SEPARATE - not inserted into the document. 2a. Images should be a maximum of 1280 Pixels wide - there's a little trick - if you need help please ask me? 3. If possible images need to be screen grabs in W7 format/"livery" - for consistency. 4. Articles should be SPELL CHECKED before submission. 5. Opinions in articles will be edited out. Submissions should be made in a PM to me. It might be wise to let me know if you plan to make a submission just in case someone else is planning the same topic? The work is ongoing and it might be wise to Press F5 (or even Ctrl+F5) often to make sure that you are not viewing an old version of what is current." Thanks to Jeff Evans for looking after the running of this project since April. I hope to be able to continue with it in the near future. Please PM Jeff until that time. We don't need suggestions for articles - we need articles. DG

Thanks Lin. Don't mix Horizontal and Vertical. It does not work DG

Four Styles - 2 Horizontal and 2 Vertical - and two Demo Styles. Individual Styles require one 16x9 Image in a 16x9 Project. Demo Styles each require four 16x9 Images in a 16x9 Project. As always these are just ideas - feel free to Edit or Adjust. Rotate.ptestyle DG

Hi Jeff, I have no interest in LR but I understand why others use it. I have tried the Range Masking in ACR and I am suitably impressed. Being able to use this technique on the RAW file has its advantages but NIK Vivesa is still a contender. I also like the Variable Fonts. It would be nice if Igor could introduce something similar. DG
-
I was not sure what you meant. In order to take full advantage of LR CC across multiple devices you must go to the cloud. That will work OK if you stay within the 20Gb limit of the Photography Package. Some users are expressing doubts about the viability of this approach because of their Broadband speed/limitations, especially when away from home. When away from home for any length of time I would take my laptop loaded with PS CC 2018, NX-D and NIK filters. Cloud free. Different people have different requirements and will choose what is best for them. DG
-
Judy, please explain. The addition to your £10 pm package is the newly named "Lightroom CC". To use that you must go "all-cloud" for images processed in that option....... If will be interesting to hear of user's experiences after a few weeks. I have never used LR so the changes will not have much impact on me. I look forward to some of the changes in PS. DG

Announced today: Subscription Plans Adobe's CC Photography Plan isn't losing any features. In fact, it's gaining 20 GB of cloud storage as well as Lightroom CC alongside the Lightroom Classic CC and Photoshop CC updates. A new CC Photography Plan with 1 TB increases the price to $19.99 per month, up from $9.99 per month for the standard plan. Existing users get a $5 per month discount for the first year. A new Lightroom CC plan gives the standalone cross-platform system to users with 1 TB of storage and the same Adobe Spark with premium features and Adobe Portfolio products for $9.99 per month. A purely mobile Lightroom Mobile Plan for iOS and Android is also available with 100 GB of storage for $4.99 per month. Additional data amounts are available, although at currently undisclosed prices and capacities. Of course, the standard 1 TB upgraded capacities are enough for most people's needs. But pending pricing on multiple terabytes of data, it could be unrealistic for professional photographers to rely on Lightroom CC alone to hold their data or even to upload all of it to begin with. And because Lightroom CC uploads every image to the cloud (there's a way to ensure an image is or is not downloaded locally, but no way to stop an image from being uploaded if it's imported into CC), it's unclear if this would be something manageable or if there's another solution or workaround aside from continuing to use Lightroom Classic CC as the main image management and editing workhorse. https://fstoppers.com/apps/adobe-announces-lightroom-classic-cc-lightroom-cc-photoshop-cc-updates-and-more-200026?utm_source=Fstoppers&utm_medium=Push&utm_campaign=article_added DG

Do you mean that while your exe file is being projected onto a screen you want to be able to preview the next slide on your pc/laptop?

Updated/Modified Origami 1 CT: Origami 1.pteeff Shading has been added to differentiate between Left and Right sections during the Transition. Origami 2: Origami 2.pteeff Origami 2 takes the CT a step further by adding more sections to the transition. (Horizontal only). Styles containing these CTs: Origami 2a.ptestyle Origami 2b.ptestyle DG P.S. Some users have experienced error messages when these CTs are first Imported. Closing and re-opening PTE fixes the problem. Igor is aware and is investigating.

Thank you, feel free to edit or adjust as you wish. DG

Hi Wideangle, That has not happened to me on my W7 and W10 PCs. Mur did not report it either. If you can reproduce the Error please post in General so that Igor can investigate when he gets back to work. DG

Sometimes I see a Transition on TV etc and wonder if or how I could do it in PTE. A challenge. This is such a challenge. I have called it Origami for want of a better name. Included in the ZIP are the Custom Transition, the Demo Style and individual Styles for each of the four directions of the CT. Follow the instructions in the Style. As always these are just ideas - feel free to Edit or Adjust. DG Origami 1.zip

The Triptychs below use three 2x3 images. Add three 2x3 Images to the Slide List of a 16x9 Project and apply the style. Animation can be applied via the Animation Frame and the Frames 1-3. 3D Triptych 3 Portraits.ptestyle Some suggestions as to how they could be animated: 3D Triptych 3 Portraits Demo.ptestyle This one has a Blurred BG. Add three 2x3 Images and a 16x9 Image (in that order ) to a 16x9 Project and apply the style. 3D Triptych 3 Portraits with BG.ptestyle These are just ideas - feel free to edit and/or adjust. DG P.S. Regarding 2x3 Images: Pre-prepared 2x3 Images (e.g. 800x1200) are advisable. Note that "some" DSLRs do not produce 2x3 images SOOC.
