....in the Slide List. Igor, If I add a CONVERTED Video Clip to the Slide List I can replace it with another CONVERTED Video File (using Right Click / Change Video File) and the Slide is correctly renamed and the Slide Duration is correctly updated. I can keep on doing this ad-finitum. However, if I (by mistake) try to replace the CONVERTED Video Clip with a different file and choose the Un-Converted Version I am asked if I want to use the Converted Version. I say yes. The File is replaced and the Slide is correctly renamed BUT the Slide Duration is not updated. From that time on, even if the correct procedure is adopted, the Slide Duration seems to be LOCKED and although the Slide Name is updated the Slide Duration remains the same. DG

Change 'Default Slide Durations' for only images

Gary, Please do not make assumptions that you cannot possibly make. You are not the only one here using Video Clips. The reason that I answered your suggestion is that I think that you are using the wrong tool for the Job. You also appear to be having difficulty in distinguishing between Slides and Images. Default Slide Duration does "what it says on the tin" - it sets a Default Slide Duration for all new slides added to the Slide List after that Setting. You drag an image into a Slide in the Slide List at the Default Slide Duration that you decided on. Adding a Video Clip to the Slide list is a "Special Case" and as such it sets its own Slide Duration. Any changes to the Durations of existing Slides are catered for under the Slide Options Button - it allows you to select any Slides to which you want to apply changes. Once again I make my alternative suggestion - A "Lock Duration" function in Slide Options, perhaps being automatically set as default when a Video Clip is added s a Main Object, would do the job just as well. Perhaps we could call it the GODDI Button. DG -
Peter, Post a screen shot of the error message? DG

Vertical Scrolling Text (UP): Same answer, except that you move the text box DOWN at the first Key Frame and UP at the second Key Frame.

Regarding the Bottom Left List: If you had selected non-contiguous Objects it would be useful in identifying which is which. DG
-
Laszlo, Bottom right of the Illustration: Click on the First Object and Shift+Click on the last Ctrl + Click to select non-contiguous Objects. Is that what you mean? DG

P.P.S..... here's another example where what you are suggesting "MIGHT" cause problems. Let's say that I have a show containing a couple of hundred Slides, many of which have Hyperlinks of the type "Go to Slide with Name". If the replacement of an Image for whatever reason also changed the Slide Name then any Hyperlinks pointing to that particular slide would be "broken" and fixing it could be time consuming. DG

Yes, The point I would make is the same as yours - that you are changing the Main Image and that is being re-named correctly in O&A. The SLIDE NAME was determined by your original choice of Image File. If you started with a Blank slide and added the Image in O&A then it would still be named Blank after changing the missing (non-main) image. It would be nice if Igor could "put this right" - but depending how you look at it, it could be that there is nothing to "put right". DG P.S. I have a few Styles in which the Slide Name is determined by the Style and not by the Main Image used. If my Main Image went missing and I replaced it, the Slide would still retain its "original" name dtermined by the Style just as I would want.

Hi TC, I tried to reproduce your example and, as you say, it requires changing the File Name in Slide List. However, I also tried Igor's suggestion. Cancel the Missing Files window and Right Click on the slide in the Slide List - choose "Change Image File" and select the new (or renamed file). It replaces the Missing File and updates the Slide Name. DG

Thanks Igor, That solves the problem that I reported. DG

Great show by a new member. Worth a look. https://www.slideshowclub.com/files/file/469-images-of-yorkshire/ DG

Perhaps the Calculation needs a little adjustment? It would make it difficult (not impossible) to get consistent Text sizes across multiple slides without some kind of Workaround. DG

Igor, In Version 8, if I add a one line Text Object I can set the Percentage Zoom to 20%. If I then add text and create 2 or 3 lines of text in the same Text Box the Percentages will be 40% and 60%. If I do the same thing in Version 9 I get 20%, 39.633% and 59.266% Am I missing something? DG

My Sony TV supports 60fps MP4 with no problem. DG

Igor, The following also work fine on a W10 Laptop: Films and TV Windows Media Player Power Media Player DG

I have added a "curved" Triptych to the "V9 Framing" Style Category. Any AR image in any AR Project - Universal. V9 Framing.ptestyle DG

Barry, That is a feature of your media box. A media player on a more recent tv will play the full resolution when playing from usb. A new BD player will do the same thing as your media box - tv safe zone. DG

Hi Igor, I just made a new MP4 with those settings in 9.0.5 and heard no Click or error sound. DG

With regard to the BLUR question, if you make the two images Children of a Frame or other Object with zero opacity you can blur each one independently. With regard to the Opacity, it works the same in Version 9 as it did in Version 8. DG

I will keep trying to reproduce it. DG

Horizontally scrolling text: In O&A add your text object over your image. Right click in Object Panel - Add Text Object. There will be a Key Frame on the left of the O&A timeline bottom of screen. Clone that Key Frame (KF) and move it to the right side if that timeline. Right click on it - Clone - Drag to right. Go back to the left KF and PAN the text until it is just off screen to the right. Go to the right KF and PAN the text until it is just off screen to the left. Play the animation. Is this what you mean? DG

Change 'Default Slide Durations' for only images
davegee replied to goddi's topic in Suggestions for Next Versions
THis makes absolutely no sense to me. The purpose of that setting is (primarily) to set the duration of new slides. It does not affect Video Clips added to the Slide List. A Video Clip added (dragged into) the Slide List will set its own Duration. If, at some stage, I want to change the Duration of a slide or a group of slides (Contiguous or Non-Contiguous) I use Slide Options. I can also change the "Slide Name" in Slide Options to identify Video Clips, Main Images which are PNG, GIF etc or anything that I want if adding an identifier in PS etc is a problem. (This does not alter the Image File Name). DG P.S. Surely a more sensible suggestion would be an option in Slide Options to "Lock Duration" of a slide? -
Jan, Close your Project and PTE. Open PTE. Click on File / Open to open your Project (even if it opens automatically). Are you now able to Publish?? DG
-
I confirm what Gary and Jan seem to have found. If you open PTE and then click on File / Open to open your project the the Publish / HD Video works as expected. If you navigate to the .pte file in Windows Explorer (etc) to open the Project then the Publish / HD Video stalls. DG
