Chris, To cut a long story short, you need to buy a new license for V8. If you wish to search the Forum Igor explained the reason for having to suspend/cancel the Lifetime License promise after V7.5. You will not regret purchasing V8 - it is an excellent product - if you want to install V7.5 instead then the download is available from here.

Hi Craig, When I made the Style I allocated each photo with "Cover Slide" Mode. That way, no matter what the AR it will always "Cover" its parent frame. There is one anomaly - if you try to change the image in O&A the new image will assume "Fit to Slide". The Style makes it "Cover". I would probably have to start again to make a Portrait AR Style. I will look at it. DG

A (basic - no frills) magnifying glass moves through 4 positions and displays a 200% view as it goes. The Magnifying glass is a PanosFX creation - I am grateful for it. The Frame and the image in the mask have 5 Key-Frames and each "pair" can be adjusted to magnify a different part of the scene. Add one image to the Slide List and Apply the Style. I'm pretty sure that the project file that Jeff supplied does not cause a dip in volume on my laptop and that to my mind pretty much rules out PTE as the cause. But who knows ....... DG

Jeff, In the original EXE the effect that you speak of is quite noticeable because it is "burned in". However, in the Project File that you posted there is no discernible drop in level of the BG music when then the Voice Clip plays. Just in case I created an EXE in Zip to see if that did it but still no drop in level. Denis's theory is plausible but my W10 interface looks nothing like his and I could not find the switch that he mentioned. Whatever is causing it, I suggest the PTE is not the culprit here?

Hi Jeff, If the two audio files used in the example were available for independent testing it might be more meaning ful than listening to the exe of your project.

Barry, I also wonder about the percentage of users who would actually take advantage of it. Is it worth the effort? It would be the very bottom of my priorities list. I have been advocating the use of PicturesToExe as an Educational Tool since version 4.x. However I see some difficulties in the production of a PDF from the series of slides. PTE is a Timeline based software, so where along the Timeline do you propose that the "snapshot" be taken for the Thumbnail for each slide? If it is taken at position zero (or at the end of the transition time) for any slide then a blank slide or background image would be the result. Bullet pointed text which fades in would not show. Can you make multiple bullet points appear in the same slide on a mouse click or would it have to be done on a one slide per bullet point basis? If the snapshot is taken at the end of slide duration then any objects which have been faded out would not show. Do you propose a variable position for the snapshot? Do you propose that all animation should be ignored? (I am thinking of Bullet Points). Are you advocating that a new feature for inserting "speakers notes" be introduced? I am not speaking against this proposal but I think that someone needs to give Igor a clearer understanding of what is required by you, the user. In addition to this any decisions need to make the feature applicable to a wide range of educational applications and not just the requirements of a single slide show or type of show. Perhaps it is a feature which could start off in a very basic way and be developed in the future - what are the basic requirements? DG -

Mike, Using your show as an example, I think that your transitions could be simplified a great deal. Let the quality of the images speak for themselves and link them with subtle dissolve transitions. You will hear much about the "Third Image" and a search of this forum will bring up some info on the subject. Look at some of the highly rated Landscape Photography shows on SSC and analyse them. DG

Mike, In PUBLISH choose "Executable File for MAC" and choose to ZIP it. You can then upload it to SSC along with the PC version.

Can you explain what you mean here? Slideshowclub is not YouTube so any sharpness problems will be in the exe before it is uploaded. I am going to watch it later and I suspect that previous comments here and at SSC about the watermark will also apply to me.

I believe that Ken's original thoughts about dragging audio files onto slides to create linked "voice comments" in a dedicated Track is worthy of consideration in addition to his right click menu suggestion.

Ken, I won't add this comment to your suggestion because that is the way that good suggestions often get lost. However, I notice that you seem to have changed your mind somewhat. Originally, you wanted to drag and drop your audio file from your file list onto a slide in the slide list and in the one operation have it attached / linked to that particular slide. Is your newly posted suggestion instead of or as well as your original suggestion which I supported above? -

Mark, The reason for the two PC versions is because of Windows related issues - it is not "just" an exe in a Zip. W10 does not like the PTE EXE. W10 likes the Safe Executable with Digital Signature. The same issues do not arise with the MAC OS. DG

Pack of Cards Style (3x2): Pack of Cards 3x2.ptestyle Use 3x2 images in a 3x2 Project. Add two images to the Slide List and, after Importing the Style, highlight both and apply the Style in Slide Styles / User Styles. To expand the Style add an EVEN number of images to the Slide List in the order: 1,2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6 etc - Highlight all and Apply the Style. Can you put the Images etc where the Project "thinks" that they should be (temporarily)? That would be easier than trying to change each broken link in your Project's Properties Tab. I am assuming that you can still find a "W" drive. You could then make a Template of the show on a suitable drive to correct your errors. DG
