  1. You "should" be able to double click on the ISO and, if your CD burning software supports it, it will offer to burn it. You might have more luck with that, but I still think that your project might be too big. Have you tried copying the disc you managed to make - with your CD burning s/w?
  2. BIZ is just a Template zipped up to go.
  3. Template. http://docs.picturestoexe.com/en/techniques/templates
  4. You don't burn the iso file yet. You create it as a file. If it is created without error then you know that PTE is ok and to look elsewhere. I think that I would also try cutting the project in half and see what happens. 4.7Gb is a theoretical figure that includes files other than yours. I think that you MIGHT be trying too much.
  5. Can you create an ISO? On the last page of the creation process turn everything off EXCEPT the ISO option. DG
  6. Version 8? Type it in?? DG
  7. One of the problems associated with transferring mp4 to iPad or indeed any tablet is that the mp4 takes up valuable resources. Hence my preference for streaming wirelessly from a device which I always have with me. DG
  8. Is this a new problem? Has it worked before? DG P.S. Make a small single-slide EXE for PC and try that?
  9. Good advice Ray, My primary concern is Video for TV so rather than have to make dual format shows I put up with the black lines on my wife's iPad. She hasn't complained yet But if video for the iPad is the primary objective then 1440x1080 is good advice. DG
  10. Ron, You will be making a 1920x1080 Video (MP4) from a 1920x1080 Project so your images can be 1920x1080 (or larger for zoom etc). DG
  11. Added article: "Create a Menu Slide" http://docs.picturestoexe.com/en/techniques/menu_slide DG P.S. Work in progress.
  12. Add your sequence of slides and note the time that the sequence starts. Add your audio of the avi in a Track in Project Options/ Audio and use the Offset to place the beginning of the Audio where you want it. I hope that I understood the question . DG
  13. Daniel, I explained that it "appeared" to save the 3840x1080 file but on closer inspection it saved it as either 1920x540 or 1920x1080 (Vista/W7). I was surprised that it did so. Ray did not indicate which Codec he used so I had to go with the PTE default. I don't save such exotic resolutions and neither do I use anything other than the default PTE Codecs. I was merely trying to help to prove whether the problem was Ray's PC or PTE's. I found it strange that he got error messages and I did not?? DG
  14. The procedure that you are looking for is described in the Online Help File under Project Options / Audio Tab. Adding the Audio of a Video Clip to a Track. DG
  15. OK, I have looked more closely and I think that you are right. Although my settings were 3840x1080 I looked at the properties of the published AVI and shows the 3840x1080 aspect ratio in a 1920x1080 frame. In the case of the Vista Published AVI the frame size was the correct AR but the resolution is showing as 1920x540. Maybe Igor can offer an explanation. DG
  16. I finally got my desk back! Here's the screen grab from my w7 PC: The 3840x1080 PRESET is not working but the Custom version is. DG
  17. Ray, The avi is around 70mb. In the avi publish I set Custom, click on the padlock, enter 3840x1080, accept everything else and hit OK. It just does it. I indicated that I used a Vista laptop. There could be differences with W7/8 etc. You can't assume that just because it will or will not happen on one computer that it will or will not happen on all computers. I found that out a long time ago. If I get a problem with my W7 pc I usually check on my Vista laptop or my legacy XP PC before proceeding. I will check it on my W7 pc as soon as I can get my grand-daughter off my desk. DG P.s. it is not a good idea to post your email address like that.
  18. To clarify post #4 I published at 3840x1080 by altering the Custom resolution. No crashes - no errors. However, none of my players would allow me to see the whole 3840x1080 view. I could only see a portion of the video. DG
  19. Just click on the Padlock. DG P.S. This is just my personal opinion - it is not a good idea to save this sort of file to your C drive. Don't you have a DATA drive?
  20. Stockton, "If you have PTE 8, try creating a PTE show of just one JPG slide 3840 x 1080, with PTE screen size 3840 x 1080, and then Publish an AVI file of 3840 x 1080 screen size." I opened a new project 3840x1080, added a blank slide to the Slide List. In O&A I added two images to the blank slide. I published as an AVI with no error. However nothing that I have will play the AVI? Windows Vista Laptop. DG P.S. Some screen shots would help? Your settings in Publish and a shot of the O&A screen.
  21. Lin, A quick follow up: All of the current Nikon DX Cameras (except the D300s) have true 3:2 sensors wheras none of the current Nikon FX range have true 3:2 sensors. DG
  22. I downloaded a jpeg from a review site and it was 6000x4000 as per spec. However, my d70, 200,300, 700 and 600 images remain something other than 3:2 I will keep an eye on new cameras to see if this new trend continues. I am not likely to upgrade the d600 for anything less than Nikon's 50MP sensor and only then when it has been proven. The other 50MP sensor took a bit of a beating in the press today so just a big hike in MP is not going to make me jump any time soon. DG
  23. Lin, Just out of interest, take your d5300 or d7200 nef into nx2 and add a size/resolution Edit Step. What does that say? DG
  24. After resizing a D600 image (without crop) to a 3:2 AR you should get 1620x1080. Depending on which way you do it (long edge or short edge) a straight RESIZE without crop (preserving the original AR) gives you either: 1620x1081 or 1618x1080 With a D700 image you get either 1620x1077 or 1623x1080. DG P.S. Regarding the D5300 and D7200 - it looks like someone has been paying attention to what I have been saying for so long
  25. Hi Lin, Here's a case where it gets interesting. If you resize a D700 image to 1080 high you get a 1623x1080 image. If you then apply the crop tool at 3x2 and zoom in you see that the crop tool is highlighting all but 1.5 pixels on each side. Now, if that is the way it works then cropping is going to necessitate a complete remapping of the whole image because half pixels do not exist. Doing the same thing with a D70 image your crop tool only has to "discard" 2 pixels from each side (1624x1080) - no "remapping" required (?). Would I be correct in assuming that the processor has to work (relatively) harder to crop a resized D700 image over a D70 image?? To those of you who just don't care - that's OK - just don't reply. DG
