  1. Denis, I am interested in your statement that your tv only shows 95% of an mp4. I think that if you have a modern flat screen tv and you "dig" into the media player menu, you will find a setting to play 100% of the image. This is quite a common problem and only requires a little patience to find the correct setting. DG
  2. Added Arrow Options for Objects and Animations Objects Panel in Hotkeys. DG
  3. Tom, It works OK for me also. Possible things to try: When assembling Custom Transitions I always leave the original Slide 1 and Slide 2 at the bottom of the stack and remove all animation as well as setting their opacity to zero. I then use copies to produce the new CT. The other thing that I notice is that your CT finishes half way through the 2 second CT. I think it might be better to construct it as a 1 second CT and then have Key Frames at zero and 1 second (beginning and end) for both Slide 1 and Slide 2. You might also consider setting "Use background from slide" and "Transparent background of slides" to cater for images which do not fill the screen. Is this a MAC/Parallels issue with PTE?? Nice CT. DG P.S. You don't have to Zip ptef files to post them on the forum.
  4. Wideangle, I think that Igor has explained this one before. It goes something like this: Even though your PNG files are relatively small file size-wise, when they are added to the O&A they are treated as full size 1920x1080 images and the amount of resources required is many times that of the accumulated file sizes of the PNGs. I think that the explanation was that 100 full size images is an unrealistic amount. 100 small (resolution) Objects is OK - 100 Full resolution Objects is unrealistic. Igor will probably explain it far better than I can. DG
  5. Actually Judy, it looks like that information is absent from the Hotkey Section of the Online Help File. I will correct that tomorrow. Thanks, DG
  6. Are you seeing the "Not responding" message (top right)? Give full details of your system including the graphics card. I have seen similar reports elsewhere which involve either ATI or AMD Radeon cards but not with PTE. DG
  7. Please forgive me if I misunderstood but the Up/Down arrows do this?? DG

  9. Hi Gary, Just to recap on VNX2 (or VNXi). It is a free software supplied by Nikon with all Cameras and contains the Nikon Movie Editor. The Movie Editor allows you to Trim (beginning and end). It also allows you to Cut a section from the Middle of the Video and add a Transition between the start and end of the Cut. You can create a new video from the Storyboard using multiple clips with transitions. You can add sound files and text to the output. Output options are: File Type: MOV (H.264/AAC) Size: Up to 1920x1080 (16:9) Frame Rate: 24, 25, 30, 50, 60 fps Audio: 48kHz 16 Bit Stereo I have tried a few options using a 1920x1080 HD original and PTE "likes" them all including the 1920x1080 30 fps version. All run smoothly after conversion by PTE to avi. DG P.S. In case you are thinking of upgrading your camera any time soon here are the Video Specs for the D7200: 1920 x 1080: 60p (progressive), 50p, 30p, 25p, 24p; 1280 x 720: 60p, 50p; Actual frame rates for 60p, 50p, 30p, 25p, and 24p are 59.94, 50, 29.97, 25, and 23.976 fps respectively, options support both high and normal image quality................
  10. Gary, When you create the Movie in VNX2 you can set whatever frame rate you want (from a list). If you wanted to stay with 24fps (23.xxx) it is an option in the Create Menu. The default is 30fps (29.xxxx). DG
  11. Am I missing something? I thought that you wanted to trim it before running it through Mercalli?? Having run it through Mercalli you could then Convert it to avi when you add it to the slide list. Having done that and got a good result, the precise trimming can be done in O&A/Properties tab. If you not getting a good result then you have to decide what the problem is and where the problem lies. If you add the movie straight out of camera and convert, what happens? Is the jerkiness that you speak of to do with bad camera technique or is it losing frames? My mov files run smoothly when added and converted in this way.
  12. Gary, Your original post suggested that you were using Nikon movies (and that your camera is set for sRGB ) so that is why I mentioned it. If you do your trimming there and then save it and run it through the other software before PTE you should have what you want. By making the trim a "rough trim" you still have the opportunity to do a precise trim in PTE at very little cost in terms of file size. DG
  13. Yes, you are correct, but VNX2 and the soon to be released VNXi will allow you to perhaps do a lot more before offering your video to PTE. I note that you did not comment on my earlier post? DG
  14. This might help: http://docs.picturestoexe.com/en/main_menu/preferences?optimization_of_video_clips DG
  15. Gary, You can trim in-camera or in VNX2 and output in the same format/quality. I recommend VNX2 for this - it does a good job. DG
  16. The "Carousel 9" Style was built in a 3:2 Project using SQUARE images. However, it is possible to use a different combination of Image Aspect Ratios and Project Aspect Ratios by adjusting the size of the master frame for each of the nine slides and re-creating the Style. For instance the following Style has been optimised for 3:2 Images in a 16:9 Project. Hence the Style name - Nine 3:2 Images; 16:9 Project AR. Also note that because of the animation, the use of small size frames (stroke lines) around images can cause "shimmering". Please use larger stroke lines or images with no stroke lines. I also recommend a background which is neutral or graduated (not black). Carousel 932_169.ptestyle DG
  17. On the main machine, has it ever worked ok? DG

  20. Hi Ken, It's Igor's creation. DG
  21. This was done using Igor's Advanced Carousel Style: Advanced Carousel_Feb25-2015_16-59-30.zip DG
  22. Hi Lin, Sorry I meant repeat until escape is pressed. I think that Igor will update this version - If you look at Carousel 9, I did exactly what you suggested. The difference is that I was not able to add the extra parameters. Only Igor can do that. Work in progress. I have also made a suggestion about the BG In this case a plain or grad BG is better but if he can apply a dissolve to JUST the BG between slides................ DG
  23. You will need three passes as described above to complete the cycle and THEN you can LOOP. DG
  24. Add the same six images twice in the following order: 1,2,3,4,5,6,6,1,2,3,4,5. Apply the style to all 12 images. Remember to use the same percentage size each time. DG P.S. in the next pass you will need: 5,6,1,2,3,4,4,5,6,1,2,3..... until all six images have been at the front.
  25. Turn on the LOOP function in Project Options or add the same twelve images in a slightly different order and apply again. The time and speed are interactive - that's always been so. DG
