Thanks for your reply. I was in Object editor mode, and although I can input text and buttons and control their position and size I have no control over any picture which I insert. I have tried drawing around the pictures with the mouse but still the group button is asleep

Your solution seems simple and obvious, but I cannot get it to work. Is this a bug ? At which screen do you draw your mouse arond the pictures ? Is the screen resolution critical ? Keith
