  1. What makes you think you can't edit from slide to slide? Just apply a style then tweak the settings! I do this all the time... The fact that a style is applied to a slide doesn't mean the settings are chiseled in stone. Best regards, Lin
  2. I've never been to a hot air balloon festival and we have one of the largest in the world (over 80 hot air balloons) just 116 miles south of my home, so I decided to take my service pup Ruby and go see what it was all about. We left home at 2:30 am and drove south to Colorado Springs, Colorado - elevation over 6,000 feet and in the shadow of Pikes Peak - elevation 14,110 feet. We arrived at 4:30 am and got free parking because we arrived before they were ready to take money. I parked my big Dodge 4x4 pickup truck right on the grass next to the Mike's Camera tent. No one was there when I arrived so I had a primo parking spot! I walked Ruby then put her to bed in the back seat and got my lawn chair out and sat in front waiting for things to happen. The trucks and vans towing trailers with balloons began arriving about 6:00 and people were beginning to wander in so I began shooting before sunup. I wanted to not only shoot balloons in the air, but also the crowd, the inflation of the balloons and especially get some closeup telephotos of the gondolas, pilots and passengers. The gondolas ranged from something that resembled a lawn chair for only the pilot under the balloon to huge baskets which could hold a doze or so passengers. Hopefully this will give people like me who have never been to an event like this a feel for the festivities. Lin And an abbreviated little fun show below Lin
  3. Great job Gary, It was an enjoyable journey and your show was put together with care and I'm certain took a LOT of work! It looks like you and your wife had a great trip !!! I've never had the pleasure of touring that area - something to look forward to on my bucket list !!! Best regards, Lin
  4. Hi Gary, Rolling the mouse wheel by "pushing" with your index finger moves a screen downward so that you see what, if anything, is above the top of your display. Rolling the mouse wheel by "pulling" toward you moves the screen upward so you see what's beneath your line of sight. I think it works that way on about all programs I've encountered. So if you consider what is beyond your view to the right, as what would be below your line of sight on a vertical move, you would pull the wheel toward you. No? Best regards, Lin
  5. I recommend posting videos to YouTube rather than directly to the MeWe Group because we each have an 8 gigabyte limit which the poster will bear against their own free limit. To get more storage is fairly inexpensive, but when only embedding videos one doesn't suffer any penalty against the free limit. Best regards, Lin
  6. The question was raised on our Facebook group about why we "need" another group and whether it was advisable to advertise such within an existing group. It's all about options and the new MeWe group is not a "replacement" for the active Facebook group, it's for people who are switching or spending more time on other social media sites and for people who wish to expand their social media options. Facebook has come under some rather serious privacy issues lately and has lost a major litigation potentially costing them billions of dollars. There are a number of people who are leaving Facebook and having the option to join yet another rapidly growing social media site which takes privacy very, very seriously is compelling. Sadly I have Facebook friends who have had their posts, pictures and so on removed by Facebook with absolutely no good reason. In some cases the Facebook response was downright laughable. One friend had a picture of his new colt and its mom removed by Facebook because, according to Facebook, it violated their policy on "nudity" - Go figure. My response to him was that perhaps he should in the future put a blanket on any horses pictures he posts on Facebook. Here's some information in the link below by the founder of MeWe which may be of interest. Personally, I'm not leaving Facebook but having another social media option is not a bad thing. There are a number of people who are members of our FB group who are also members of the new group on MeWe. https://medium.com/@markweinstein/7-remarkable-reasons-to-ditch-facebook-today-a14f5c69a59a Lin
  7. Follow Link Below and Join Us On MeWe As Well!! https://mewe.com/join/picturestoexepresentationslideshowsoftware There is a 500 meg limit on video uploading, but you can embed a YouTube video of any size.. Lin
  8. Yes, as Igor says, for full resolution 1920x1080. Actually 16:9 is an "aspect ratio" not a pixel size so you "could" choose a smaller pixel size which equals the 16:9 aspect ratio such as 1280x720 and use that, but for a larger display having the full 1920x1080 will result in the better video. Best regards, Lin
  9. Definitions Gary - Slide styles are applied to "slides." A slide is everything that's connected to the image seen in the slide list including objects used as "children" of what you see in the slide view. As such what you need to decide is what will be seen when the "main images" are replaced by the user. For example, if you want something to stay with the replaced image you see in the slide list as a subset of that replacement image you do not include it as a "main" image. Main images are what get replaced by the user to apply the style to. That's why slide styles are applied in the slide view rather than in Objects and Animations. If you can describe what it is that you are trying to accomplish, perhaps I can help you set it up. You don't apply styles to components of a slide but rather to the entire slide. So, for example, if you have a hierarchical child object with some animation taking place and you apply a style to a new image, that new image will have the same hierarchical child performing the same animation but with a new main image. If you want a different child doing something on the new slide, you would simply use the replace image in the properties tab to change the child object but you wouldn't try to apply a style to a subset of the slide. Best regards, Lin
  10. PicturesToExe has some nifty features. Among these is the fact that an image or a video which is repeatedly used in a show carries no penalty of overhead (doesn't increase the size of the show) when used multiple times. This is an example. A 9 second video clip was used four times to create an approximately 30 second video show by using keyframes, opacity and offset features. The first instance was keyframed to zero opacity just before the end of the clip. The second instance was programmed by offset to start as the first instance ended and to zero opacity as the third instance began. The third instance was set by offset to begin as the second ended and to zero opacity near the end of its nine second run. The forth instance was programmed by offset to begin just as the third went to zero opacity. The entire 30 second sequence required only a little over 9 megabytes of storage - a huge savings over what a full 30 second clip would take. The fact that this works not only for executable code, but also for video clips tells me that it probably wouldn't take too much additional programming to create the "loop" feature for video clips. That would be a very nice addition to PTE Version 10 were it possible to achieve. Best regards, Lin
  11. Peter, The way to create rippling water is best done via two programs: PTE and SqirlzReflect, a freeware program. - See my video tutorials 42 and 43 on the link below. SquilzReflect is used to create the ripple effect and PTE is used to attenuate or soften the reflections to make them much more realistic. I cover this all in the two videos. It's by far best to create an animated GIF with SqirlzReflect and use that rather than a video because it saves a great deal of overhead. You could also simply create an animated gif of your own by taking a brief video of the actual water you want to ripple and then use a video program such as Wondershare Filmora which makes creating an animated gif from a video extremely simple and fast. Here's the link to my tutorials page - scroll down past the red numbers and find #42 and #43.. https://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/topic/7901-pte-made-easy-tutorials-continuously-updated/ Best regards, Lin PS - here's one of my PTE styles which shows rippling water (you just choose a PNG transparency such as an animal to appear in the crystal decanter and apply the style and PTE does the rest... You can easily adjust the size and position of the animal in the decanter...
  12. Hi Marcel, I love the creativity you have shown - thank you !!! Best regards, Lin
  13. Smooth as silk - beautiful imagery Barry - It looks like 60fps with the new beta 10 is doing justice. Best regards, Lin
  14. Added Jean Cyprien's Book Style and David Fitzpatrick's VisiSketch Pro Samples To "What Can I Do With PicturesToExe" For Fun.. Note to new users... These are all things which I have created free video tutorials to explain how to do. These are not ordinary slideshows which PTE does beautifully, but samples of animations. None of these are difficult to do, but do require the new user to watch the tutorials to get a handle on how they are done or how to use the styles which were used to make several of them. Thanks to Jean Cyprien, Dave Gould, David Fitzpatrick and others for inspiration, styles and ideas. Lin
  15. I would not use any larger images than necessary. The images with deep zoom can be loaded at full resolution, but there is no advantage in using higher resolution than will be displayed for the rest and there "could" be a down side depending on whether you will be playing the show as a video or as an executable. Video would suffer no probable difference other than the time to render because the images are automatically downsampled to the size selected for the clip. On the other hand, executable shows do not have this same advantage and depending on the hardware the show will be played on for projection, it could be problematic at 20 megapixels. The other disadvantage is that it will greatly increase the exe file size. Not to say it can't be done. I've created shows with PTE which have 40 megapixel images which ran just fine, but I have a really powerful video card and 32 gigabytes of system RAM in a i7 processor which can handle the load. I wouldn't try to play the same shows (lots of animation) on a lesser machine because of stutter and jerk probability. Best regards, Lin
  16. Wild !!! A cross between science and an LSD trip! I loved it ! Best regards, Lin
  17. Great news Igor - looking forward to trying the 64 bit exe shows... Best regards, Lin
  18. Very Happy Birthday to a great company producing the finest presentation slideshow product available world-wide !!! Lin
  19. Just playing with the dolly zoom concept folks... Normally, a video camera or film movie camera would be placed on a dolly and moved either away from or toward the subject(s). Then the motorized zoom would be activated to zoom in or zoom out in perfect harmony with the camera position being moved out or moved in. The net result is that the subject(s) stay static while the background either zooms away or toward the viewer. The concept was first used by Alfred Hitchcock on the movie Vertigo in 1958... Lin
  20. Nice one Dave - it speaks to me !!! Best regards, Lin
  21. A couple new spiral type styles for any aspect ratio. Fan Spiral Style: Place the same image in the slide list twice and select style. Whirling Spiral, place one image in slide list and select and apply style. For this one it's best to place the same image beside the first to resolve to with a dissolve. 22. Celestial animation, snow animation, rippling water animations, flaming and curling text animation, example of PTE's capability to change object color with keyframing (crystal decanter gradually changes from clear to pale blue), masking, keyframed brightness changes of orbiting moon, other subtle animations for the viewer to discover, etc. Just combining some of PTE's capabilities for a gentle, soothing little display. Nothing special but a fun demo to pass the time. Best regards, Lin
  23. That's great to hear Kieron !! I'm sure Barry is also happy to know that his efforts have also been helpful ! Best regards, Lin
