Hi Rob, I'm a little confused. 1920 is only one part of what make an aspect ratio. What is the other? 1080p is 1920 x 1080 pixels as I'm sure you know. If you are creating the video at a 3:2 aspect ratio, is 1920 the long side and 1280 the short side? Best regards, Lin

As Barry said: Imagine your talking to a newer user of PTE or even a potential customer. There are myriad things which a slide style "can" be used for. But an explanation to a new or potential user need not, and I believe should not get into details or even use the word "animation" or "transition" or anything similar. They only need to really know that a slide style is something with which they, the new user, can replace the learned efforts of an expert with the software with a few mouse clicks. Questions will eventually occur and then specifics can be revealed as the user is more amenable to deeper understanding. If they are already PhotoShop users, then the word "action" may be useful. The issue is not to throw too much at them at once but rather allow them to see what a style can do and let them know that they can also do what they see with a few mouse clicks. This my opinion based on years of developing software and teaching people to use it. Best regards, Lin

Thanks George, It's great to hear that I have the links working. It's not easy for me to test sometimes because my old Chrome browser won't go to the Wnsoft site. It doesn't work properly on my old XP which I use for most of my programming. I have to change browsers to test. I put this same video on the PicturesToExe Facebook Group and already it's being shared. Hopefully most of my friends will share also from my own personal FB site. Thanks for feedback - I've deleted the original and placed the modified file link in the original post. I removed the hand from the majority of the video - corrected the spelling on "photographer," etc. I can't do much about making the video clips larger but if watched at full screen they are large enough to be easily seen. The ad is now pretty much complete and working. I'm still working on getting a YouTube version with hot spots to work, but hopefully in a few days will have that done too. Best regards, Lin

I created the ad for PTE below. I'm still working on getting the hotspots working to take the viewer to the Facebook Group and to Wnsoft. After I get it working correctly, the user should be able to click on the appropriate hotspots and go to either Wnsoft or to the Facebook group... Any suggestions Welcome... Hi Tom, Yes, there is no keyframing for shadows. The way to implement is as you are thinking. Duplicate the image then put them under a controlling frame. On the upper level one use the shadow and on the other no shadow. Use keyframes to make the one with the shadow go to zero opacity as it reaches the end of the motion. The distance between full opacity and zero opacity will give the illusion of the "drop" to the table. When the opacity of the top is zero, of course, the duplicate on the bottom layer will take its place for rotation and zoom. Best regards, Lin

Hi Tom, Here is a suggestion - link below http://www.lin-evans.org/tom/epson_printer-suggestion.zip I think you would be better off to forget about spinning the paper and do it like the above. Trying to spin the paper in that configuration would require multiple keyframes with tiny incremental adjustments on X, Y and z axis to keep it flat. I "can" be done, but maybe not worth all the effort to do it. The sample uses a mask to get the paper out of the printer and a shadow... Best regards, Lin

Hi Tom, I think you're on to a very good idea. Getting it implemented might be a bit problematical, but it's definitely something needed for the near future. The vast number of styles which are already available is nearly overwhelming to a new user and even though I created a show which showed the name of the then available styles and demonstrated how they worked, it's become nearly impossible to keep up and of course in that respect there is no way to catalog the available styles. What we need first is a general "tree" of style types containing a description of and a single source location where they can be easily downloaded. This needs to be available so all users can add to it and place their styles in the proper place so that other users can both see and download. We really need to get on it because with the speed that new styles are becoming available it's going to get out of hand very soon if we don't. I also believe that Wnsoft needs to produce styles and "themes" as a profit center for the company. Though I have no interest myself, I'm guessing that some users might also like to produce styles and themes to sell and perhaps a centralized location to distribute both free styles and those for sale might be a useful thing with perhaps a portion of the "sale" from user contributions going toward upkeep and maintenance and offsetting the cost of the host. This should, of course, be a voluntary thing and not everyone will want to participate, but for those who do it could be quite useful. If anyone has suggestions about web software amenable to creating this type tool it would be helpful. I haven't kept up with web software for "sales" purposes but I think that's the type software needed even it not used for "selling" but just distributing. It would have to be software which is very easy to add new items to and to upload and download from. Barry may have some ideas here since he already has his business set up in a similar way.... Whether or not they survive is problematic. In many ways they painted themselves into a corner with coding choices which make it very difficult to move forward. I don't know this for a fact, but from what others have been told they were attempting to make a 64 bit program as well as a MacIntosh version. This would be a massive undertaking and would be very, very costly. It's too bad if they do go under, but their second in command is looking for a new job and they are not answering phones and the rank and file users are getting very, very nervous. Lin

I think there is no additive and that negative blur does not work if unsharp mask is set in Project Options. However, on my XP system it does not always work and there is perhaps a bug. Sometimes when I set unsharp mask in Project Options, then change it back to "None" the negative blur still doesn't work. To make it work I have to save and exit PTE then reopen the file. Gary, As with any "feature," whether or not one uses it and how often is an individual choice. Because it's there you don't have to use it. The essence is that it's a very sophisticated algorithm which looks at the totality of an image and decides how or if it can be made to appear as it might were a camera being panned, zoomed and moved. In that respect it's a significant achievement. Even features brought out years ago such as perspective cropping are mostly unused or not well understood by most PhotoShop users so this is just another tool for those who might like it. Gary - no, they have added pseudo "perspective" to their process so they appear to have camera movement. The problem is that they are hyping it as if it were magically transforming the still image into video. For some types of scenes it mimics what one would see were a video camera used and moved, but it falls far short in some of their samples, especially the ones which have water. Now if they could add rippling water it would be more believable. Best regards, Lin
