By "Title" do you mean "File Name" or do you have another place in EXIF? Under "Projects Options" "Default Tab" "Insert Template" you have a choice of available EXIF information. Just create a Style which uses the template you choose and whenever that style is applied to a slide, the EXIF information you have chosen will be visible with the slide. Best regards, Lin

AFAIK the simple and straight answer is no. The problem with EXIF information is that fields are not always used in the same way by different manufacturers which makes writing code to retrieve information from EXIF headers problematic. No matter how hard the developers try to please everyone for this feature, it has continued to be problematic. Best regards, Lin

Hi Ingrid, No, that's not the problem even if you did cure it by renaming one image. You can use an image with the same name any number of times, but when you have two images with the identical names which are called from different folders, PTE will give you the error message and refuse to create the zip file. What the error message was telling you is that you had a two files called wm morris transp.png located one in a folder called Fey H and the other in a folder called Fey G, both on the D: drive. A good way to avoid this in the future is to do checks for duplicate images and remove any duplicates before creating your show. It's perfectly O.K. to have any number of duplicate images, but when you add the images to a slideshow, images with the same name must be located in the same place. Here is the logic behind this: You "could" have two images with the same name but having totally different content if they were located in different folders. For example, you could have an image called dog.jpg and have it in a folder called spaniels. You could have a totally different image called dog.jpg in a folder called hounds. When PTE makes a zip file, it places all images plus the PTE file, etc., in a single zip archive to be unzipped in a single folder. Windows or MacIntosh will not allow two files with the same name in a single folder so PTE has no way of knowing that these two files with the same name are of the identical image or not. If a zip file were created and only one of the files called "dog.jpg" were included when you actually used a picure of a hound and a picture of a spaniel, each having the same name but called from two locations even though the executable and preview would be fine, if PTE tries to make a zip file it doesn't know whether these are of the same dog or two different dogs because the operating system doesn't allow two file of the same name in the same folder. Like you would rotate any other image. Use "Rotate" .... It doesn't matter to PTE whether one inserts a video, a still image, an animated gif or what. The program allows not only rotation, but full 3D transforms. You can horizontally or vertically flip your video - rotate it, apply pan z to it, size it, put a border around it, position it, whatever. It is treated just like a still image for position... Jose, I've tried to duplicate your problem but have not been able to do so. How much system RAM do you have? Is it possible that you are exceeding what the clipboard will hold? Perhaps you should try copying half the slides and paste, then copy the other half and paste and see it that works for you? Best regards, Lin

Hi Bazza, Unfortunately, although that is a great idea, no current slideshow software that I'm aware of has this capability. In order to do something like this, there would need to be resident a huge matrix containing world-wide gps coordinates and descriptions in multitudes of languages. That or somehow connect to google maps and be able to extract data which would require depending on a third party and the availability of such at the time of slideshow creation. I may be wrong, but I sincerely doubt that you will be able to find such or that this type power in a presentation slideshow product will be available anytime in the near future - sorry... Jeff - I know you're frustrated, but keep in mind that the website is only a convenience for PTE users and that you can also upload links to any server you choose via the PTE forum. The "beta versions" are available to all PTE users, unlike other competing products where betas are done privately. The developers are working on another "beta" because that is leading to a new product. You may want to do as I have and sign up with an inexpensive web host with virtually unlimited storage. Upload your shows there and there is no limit as to size. Then just provide a link on the forum and your shows will be available. The website "Slideshow Club," AFAIK, is created with purchased software which the developers of PicturesToExe are not privy to the internal workings of. They are as unhappy as you are that there are problems, but these problems are not under the direct control of Wnsoft developers. They must make bug reports to the software company which creates the Slideshow Club software just as you and I must make bug reports to the developers of PTE. It's not a situation of "work on another Beta versus fix Slideshow Club" PTE is under Wnsoft control while the software used for Slideshow Club is not... Best regards, Lin

If not all laptops using W10 and switchable integrated plus dedicated graphics cards have this problem, it's neither a PTE nor W10 issue but rather a hardware manufacturer's problem. Nearly all Windows based laptops are running W10 - if Dan's computer isn't having this problem and he's running W10 on a dedicated graphics card then the issue when someone else has this problem logically is with the hardware? As far as I know, PicturesToExe does not decide which graphics card is used to display any executable code, the computer settings (hardware and firmware) make that decision. If the laptop has an other than onboard graphics device enabled, then PicturesToExe executable files, like any other executable file simply sends the code to the graphics device enabled. Hundreds of users have laptops with selectable video hardware, either Intel onboard chip graphics sharing or external dedicated graphics. Nobody to my knowledge has ever reported that when their laptop was switched from onboard graphics to dedicated graphics that PTE failed to avail itself of the selected card for playback. My assumption is that the "official in charge of organizing competitions on the national level" is wrong about this.. I think it's best to let Igor comment here.... Best regards, Lin

Thanks Rick, I've added the translucent sample to the two executable (PC an Mac) example files. The alternative style will work for more realism if the user elects to use a PNG file with transparency as the subject slide to be inside the globe. It will, of course, also work fine with an opaque jpg. Perhaps I'll modify the other three styles a bit later so they too will be amenable to allowing translucency when the user elects to use a PNG object with transparency. I have also modified and re-uploaded the 16:9 large non circular globe style so that when a PNG file with transparency is selected for display inside the globe, the background image will be visible through the globe. I plan to modify the portrait view and original style with the antique silver base to do likewise. I will notify here when the other two have been modified and uploaded. Bests regards, Lin

It occurred to me that usually, when we create a snowglobe, we use a jpg image so no real reason to be able to see through the globe because the jpg image is opaque anyway. On the other hand, if we wanted some greater realism, we could use a partially transparent PNG file and then as in real life, we would be able to see the background through the globe anywhere the PNG wasn't opaque. This takes a little different approach to creating the construction for the style and this style which will work for any aspect ratio is amenable to a PNG object inside the globe and allows translucency so that the background behind the globe will be visible. So perhaps this will be my last snowglobe style this season unless someone has some more ideas to explore. Below a sample. The Last Snowglobe Style - this one for portrait oriented images of any aspect ratio. When your image is too "thin" to spread to fully fill the round or horizontal globe, use this one. As with the last style, the sun reflection can be sized, moved or removed and the background image and image in the globe are user replaceable. Select one portrait oriented image and apply style then go to Objects and Animations and find your file below the snow objects. Another Snowglobe Style - this for 16:9. You can change the background image, move or remove the sun reflection, etc. As with the other style - choose a single 16:9 aspect ratio image, apply the style. Go to Objects and Animations then find your file name and select it (below the snow objects) and adjust the size and position for it inside the globe. Move or remove or adjust size of sun reflection object and change background image as you wish. Even though it was designed for 16:9 it will work fine with 3:2 and 4:3 as well. For either PTE 8 or 9.... The globe, snow, sun spot, etc., is under a frame so you can move the frame to move the globe assembly as desired... Set the slide time anywhere between seven and sixty seconds, etc. You can also adjust the shadow cast by the globe as desired to match the sun position in the background image.. Note: This style modified and uploaded on 12/17 to handle PNG images with transparency so you will be able to see the background through the globe.... These two styles will play in either Version 8 or Version 9. You can change the slide display time for anything from seven seconds to sixty seconds. It will not affect the speed of the snowfall. Select one image which you want to appear inside the globe - choose style for either 16:9 or 3:2 aspect ratio. After applying the style, go to the Objects and Animations screen and select your image which will appear under the three "snow" objects. Adjust the size and position of your image as you want it to appear in the globe. The third style (antique silver base) will work with transparent PNG files to reveal background behind globe. Background default can be changed by user... Change background image blur to zero and reduce size to about 100% if you want to use this style with transparency.
