Hi All I am thinking of changing my computer and find that Windows Vista seems to be the only operating system on offer. Has anybody experienced working with vista. Do you know if it is backwards compatable with programmes designed for Windows XP i.e. Photoshop Cs and especially PTE.

Hi Geoff I had the same problem as my lap top also shows the volumn control in a little window. Most annoying so I went to Maplin and bought for I think about £3 a 'Uni Tone Extension lead with volumn control VC-1' This plugs into the mini jack headphone socket on the lap top and then the outlet, also mini jack on the volumn control, plugs into my amplification system. I now have full control of the sound level without any give away clue on the screen. Mike

I guess this has been asked before. I do all my construction by moving slide timings in the synchronisation window. Is there any way that scrolling through that window can be reflected by a similar movement of the slide list in the main window. I find it most frustrating to have to exit the Synch window in order to relate/ identify an image to the transition position in the synch window.

I am working on a previously saved sequence all images at 1024 x768. I have just brought in two new images from Photoshop also sized as 1024 x 768 however when viewing them on the time line in the sync window they are cropped at the top and bottom. I have gone back and checked the size and they are both 1024 x 768. When run at full screen view they are also cropped top and bottom. Any ideas as to why this should be happening?

Hi All This is really for the UK members. I need to renew my Jessops tripod screen which is taken on the WI circuit. Has anyone any views on what might be a good replacement size to be around 6 to 8 feet. Thanks mike reed

I am trying to rotate one image over another whist also adding a little zoom to the rotating image. I seem to have cracked how it is done using the key points to select parts of the rotate and the zoom but cannot ensure that each movement is of the same length so it looks a bit jerky. Any ideas how to overcome this.

Thanks Lin Yep I have visited their site. the problem is that somebody else set up my e-mail. I just pay Freedom to Surf but that is as far as it goes. I always use YAHOO. I have no idea what my password is with F2s. I have e-mailed them to ask. Till then it seems there is nowt I can do. Hi Igor I have attempted to upgrade to the full version 5 as I wish to create DVD.s. However the company that you are using to handle the transaction REG NOW will not accept my e-mail address as they say it is a free or anonymous domain. Well I use Yahoo and have always done so and I suspect that many of your customers also use such providers. I reckon that you will loose out on a lot of business if this is not resolved. I found out that I do have an email address through my ISP but I never use it. I gave that address and they have accepted my payment. The problem is that I am unable to read e-mails on that address so cannot get the release code for the upgrade. What do you suggest I should do as I really need to create a DVD asap. I am using V5 beta 14. When I click on the video button I get a message see Main menu/view/advanced options. There no longer seems to be such a screen at least not under project options. I guess you mean Project Options/screen.

I am using V5 beta 14. When in Full File Panel view is there any way that an indicator can be put against the slides selected for the slide list. If it can be done this would save a lot of switching between screens.

Thanks Ken I have discovered that the Matrox G 400 is a 16 or may be 32mb AGP card. I am told that what I need is a 128 or 256 mb AGP card. My problem is that I run two monitors. The only card that might fit the bill is a Raedeon 06W523 but can I find one, no way!! My Hewlett Packard laptop can cope so it looks as I will have to work with that. Thanks anyway. Mike

My desk top computer has a Matrox G400 dual head card and does not seem to like V5. beta 10. I can construct in the time line and customise synchro windows and create an exe file which plays on my lap top. But it will not preview as a full screen show on the desk top computer. I guess the graphics card is not man enough so any suggestion for a replacement would be appreciated.

I believe it is possible to stop those annoying Pop up messages from Windows which always seem to come in the middle of a show. If anybody knows how please guide me with what needs to be done to put them firmly in their box.

Well V5 will not run on my Matrox Millenium G400 AGP video card. Can somebody recommend a dual head card I can use to replace the existing?

Hi Fred Yes it works in v4. In the effects screen I deleted them all using the box in the top right corner and then just ticked the fade box. As I say it was fine in the timeline window but if I played it from the preview button (not the one in the timeline window) it reverted to the default of circle and fade.

Hi verybody playing with V5 A problem. In the timeline window all is well but when played as a preview the piece reverts to the default settings of v5 rather than those I set up in the effects window and I get no sound track. Igors demo runs fine so I do not think my machine is lacking in power or maybe it is? I may just be doing something stupid!

Just to report that Igor's demo of v5 runs well on a HP Pavillion dv5094EA Lap top with just a hint (no more of a stutter) the graphics on that machine are driven by a ATI MobilityRadeon Xpress 200 series card. However on my desk top using a Matrox Millenium G400 AGP (twin monitor) it does not want to run at all and indeed locks up the whole system. Just thought you would like to know!

I have tried to load the demos of v5 as I am anxious to see what it has to offer. However after unzipping and then on clicking the exe file my computer locks up and the only way out is the control Alt Delete routine. Has anybody else had this problem?

This is an interesting point. I have just switched to a wide screen lap top and found it necessary to resize the lap top screen resolution to 1024 x 768. Even then I have a problem with a sideways pan using the push effect. Whereas on my old square lap top the pan worked without any visible seam now I get a big black bar between the two frames. Hey ho latest is not always the best.
