Hi to the PTE World Has anybody perfected a spinning roulette wheel and if so can you post a download. Many thanks.

Thanks Brian Yes that worked at least for 99% All sounds are suppressed with the exception of the volume control which still does a little ping when changed but that is of no concern as I use an independent control whilst giving my shows. Mike

Hi Ken Turning down the volumn will not help. It is the annoyiong bong I get whenever there is activity on my email account and the start up and closedown jingle that I want to stop. The rest of the time I need the volumn up for my shows. I had it on my old XP lap top but cannot remember how I got there. I would also like to stop the annoying pop ups "There are unused icon' etc that can ruin a show. Mike

Sorry guys should have said. I am using XP pro on a lap top. By annoying jingles I mean the start up and close down jingle and also the pop and bong noises one gets when pop up boxes appear telling you that you have unused icons etc. Mike

Hi All I have just bought a new lap top and really would prefer that it goes nowhere near the internet. Is there any way to copy PTE from my old hard drive to the new one. Advice please. Mike Reed

Thanks that is most helpful. Mike

Hi All Having just had my HP lap top die on me (purchased in 2006) what would anybody like to recommend as a suitable replacement for showing PTE AV's. Ideas from the UK would be best as I guess not all World Wide models are available here in the uk Price in the £ 500/600 bracket. My existing projector only has 15 pin D type imput Mike

Hi all I have version 6.5 de-lux and paid for video builder however when I tried to create a dvd I got the not supported notice. On going to wnsoft website I cannot find any mention of a download for Video builder. Does anybody have a clue as to why I cannot find it? Mike Reed

Thanks Peter Yes I knew I could do a simple rotate. Perhaps I was seeking for something PTE cannot do as yet. I wanted to keep the curl to give the effect of turning the page. As a matter of interest I am running PTE on a Mac using software called Fusion. Sadly it would not open either your template or the Zipped example but I can guess what you achieved. Mike

Hi Yachtsman Yes I appreciate that I can do Curl of page rolling up from right bottom but what I want to achieve is to have an image on the back of the curl. Eg Half way through the transition there is a triangle showing in the top right which has the face detail but in obverse. What I am trying to achieve is on the front face a post card with written narrative then as it curls the picture on the reverse starts to become visible. Ideally the post card and picture is reduced in size and placed onto another image which I am using as wallpaper. I suppose it is not so much the turning of page 1 to reveal page 3 but to reveal page 2 so more the flipping of a page. I hope this makes sense. Mike

Hi All Can somebody please direct me to a tutorial or explain how to make a post card turn over to show what is on the other side. Ideally I would like it to curl from bottom right as if turning a page. I am looking to have a picture on one side and the narrative on the reverse. Mike R

Hi All AVG have confirmed to me on the 19th july that the Trojan Derek and I picked up was indeed a false positive. They say that it will be removed on the next Definitions update. Mike Reed
-
Hi Derek I too use AVG pro on my lap top and have experienced exactly the same problem as you. It followed an AVG update when the lap top was turned on after a week or so of non use.As my lap top is rarely connected to the web and until this upgrade showed no signs of problems for now I shall ignore the advice report the matter to AVG and hope for the best. You are right the Trojan does not show in AVGs dictionary of viruses so how can they detect it I ask myself! MIke Reed

Hi Igor I see that Derek gale has also reported this problem with AVG Pro. HIs explanation is exactly what I experienced. It would seem that AVG are reporting false positives with PTE exe files. I will report this matter to AVG. Ronnie I cannot see that my message has been repeated three times. Thanks all Mike Reed

Hi All I have just upgraded my AVG virus software on my lap top and am now told that I have a bucket full of Trojans known as Backdoor Hupigon5 BAKO. They all seem to relate to previous exe files of sequences I have made. Does anybody have knowledge of this beastie or is it the usual anti virus awareness of exe files? Mike Reed
-
Hi Guillaume It can be done on an intel mac but you either have to use Boot Camp or VM ware Fusion software where you down load the PTE software. It does mean that you open your mac or a part of it to the worries of the PC world but if you are desperate to get on with it and cannot wait for Igor to announce the pure Mac version then it is a solution. For myself I changed to Mac a while ago but kept my old PC just for PTE. I cleared out all the rubbish and find that it sings along at a good speed. I also ignore all the Microsoft upgrades as I only connect to the web for PTE upgrades and I am now following the "If it aint broke don't fix it" routine. Mike R

Sorry guys not thinking straight this morning should have said that the required resolution was 1400x1050, Got my 4's and 5's mixd up. Guess it makes no difference to the answer. Mike R

I have a sequence comprising some 150 images completed at 1024x768. I am due to show it elsewhere and have been requested to resize to 1500x1040. Is there a quick way to do this or do I have to resize each image. If I do that do I need to change any preferences in PTE to ensure that the EXE file then runs at 1500x1040. The forums advice is always welcome Mike Reed

Thanks Lin One would think by now that simple things like that should come naturally but at gone 11pm after starting at 8pm I was tearing my hair out. Mike

It is driving me mad. I have an image which is 1024x3840. The height is so that I can have rolling credits as in the cinema. I always thought it was done by using the push from bottom command but however I try it will not work the way I want it to. If I put the slide into the time line and use the push command it does work but because of the narrow width of the slide I am using the objects and animation window to stretch the width of the slide to fill the full screen and then trying to use the movement (pan) option to make the slide appear to rise from the bottom. Just cannot do it any help will be much appreciated. \ Mike R
