Roger, Predicting how it bounces then becomes the major challenge! regards, Peter

Hi Lennart, That's how I do it. I just use "Create...HD Video for PC and Mac" and choose the Preset that suits the aspect ratio and size of the sequence, then choose the Quality level that I want, click "Convert" and go make a cup of coffee, go for a walk, prepare a meal or whatever while the software does its thing. Then I simply copy the file onto a USB memory device and plug it in to the USB port on the TV. regards, Peter

I have copies of the download zips for both 5.52 and 5.64 that I could let you have. But by not upgrading to the latest version, you are missing out on a lot of new features. regards, Peter

So do most footballs where I'm concerned. Now, if it had been a deep red, shiny ball with a nice stitched seam on it, I might have been tempted! Peter

The play on words was entirely deliberate! Peter

I pass on this one! Peter

Jan, From the information in the above post I get the impression you are choosing your own video parameters in order to produce this MP4 file. Have you tried letting PTE choose them by doing a "Create...HD Video for PC and Mac" and taking a set of defaults? Does this also crash? regards, Peter

Multiple Font Capability Within Single Text Entry
fh1805 replied to Lin Evans's topic in Suggestions for Next Versions
Lin, What's wrong with simply creating multiple text objects, each using its own font? regards, Peter -
Have you tried using nobeefstu's utility to salvage the PTE key from the registry on the previous system? Did that not succeed in the extraction? If you have and it did, all you need to do is copy the *.reg files that it produced across to the new PC and then double-click on them to load the contents into the registry. regards, Peter

Dave, That solution you gave Sheila doesn't make sense to me - even though it worked. How can moving a vertical separator in the PTE main window influence the horizontal area of the PTE main window? To me that's a "does not compute"! regards, Peter
-
If the first attempt worked, that suggests to me that all is well with your hardware and software; and that this problem is possibly related to the actual content that you are trying to use. I have sent an e-mail to WnSoft to highlight your problem. They are only a small operation. A reply may not be forthcoming until Monday. regards, Peter

John, Can you remember in what version of PTE that show was originally built? I'm wondering if it could be an "upward compatability" problem. Have you eliminated the usual suspects? Taken the music out? Repeatedly split the show in two to see if that points the finger at a specific part of the show (and ultimately to a specific image)? regards, Peter

Why not use Project Options...Screen and change from Fullscreen mode to Windows Mode for your flash cards? I think that may allow the sequence to play back in a normal window that can be minimised. regards, Peter

John, Once you have added the slides there's no way to do it. But, if you add your first slide, then add your border to that and then (this is the important bit) click on "Save and Use by Default" at the bottom of the Properties Tab, then PTE will automatically apply that border to every image that you then add. Note that I said "image". The border will be applied to "picture in picture" images as well as to main images. Give it a try, it might be what you are looking for. One final word of caution. The settings for that border are remembered and used in your next project. That can be a problem or it can, if you are wanting to establish a "house style", be a blessing. I have PTE set to apply a 3-pixel medium gray border to all my 1920x1080 images. regards, Peter

You guys are running faster than me! Peter

Anyone who saw my previous post, I deleted it because Dave has now posted an exact step by step. And I confirm that I get the same result when I follow those steps! PTE code seems to go into a vicious Error handling loop. Nasty little so and so to break out of with Task Manager too. There seem to be several PTE related applications present at that point. It took a while to find the right one to hit on the head. Thanks for the step-by-step Dave. Even if Igor cannot now recreate, there are at least two of us who can. regards, Peter

I must admit I've not heard of this problem before and have not encountered it myself. Have you tried uninstall/reinstall? That can sometimes clear up problems of this kind in other software products. It may do the same for PTE. regards, Peter

Well done, Igor and team, Clean, clear, concise, simple, no frills. Excellent! regards, Peter
-
Igor, But would it not be reasonable to force "Set end of last slide at end of music" as part of any "Create" action? If the user is "Create"-ing a final form it implies that they think they are close to a finished article, doesn't it? regards, Peter

Andrew, If it's any consolation, I, too, did my fair share of "head banging" as I tried to learn the techniques of animation. By applied persistence, and some posts here on the forum answered by the likes of Lin and theDom, I built up my portfolio of skills. Now I am in a position to help others such as yourself. regards, Peter

Andrew, Here's a tip for you: if you know you are going to want matching values on two keyframes, after you have placed the object where you initially want it by drag-and-drop, overkey its positional parameters in the first KF with nice round numbers that will be easier to remember. It doesn't take long to do and it saves writing everything down. Example: Pan = -55, 65 is easier to remember than Pan = -53.412, 67.326 and achieves virtually the same result. Peter

Andrew, If your problem is being caused by object A obscuring Object B (and you want to work on Object , that is an Object Stack order issue. And it is entirely in your control to shuffle the stack order. Select the object you want to move by clicking on its name in the Object List and then use Ctrl+PageUp or Ctrl+PageDown to shuffle it up and down the stack until you can see it. You cannot expect to have the slide image show what the end product will be and what you would like to see, both at the same time. You have to be prepared to move your "work in progress" to a visible position, work on it there, and then return it to its proper place in the stack. No opacity change is needed. regards, Peter
-
Andrew, If what you are trying to achieve is have two keyframes on the one object and both keyframes having the same animation values then all you need to do is put the values you want in KF1, then click anywhere you like just under the timeline bar in the O&A window and create a new keyframe KF2; and finally change the keyframe time of KF2 by keying in your new value. This gives you two keyframes with identical animation values. regards, Peter
-
Agreed! Peter

Barry, There is an option under the Timed Points button of the Timeline display that allows you to set the end of the last slide synchronous with the end of the sound track. regards, Peter
