  1. thank you all for the very instructive posts, it's truly appreciated. I willl adjust accordingly.
  2. I put together a presentation with web sized images, but I now want to use the presentation for projection using a Flat Screen TV. The folder for the presentation includes all the elements of the slide show (images, and mp3). The JPG images were sized at 1200 x 750 but the projector I would use requires 1400x1050 I tried copying the PTE file in another directory and exporting a new set of jpg's from Lightroom into that directory, hopefully resulting in a slide show ready for projection in 1400x1050, but when I open the pte file in the new directory, it's looking for the images in the previous directory! How can I get the PTE file tor ead the new resized JPG's I put in that directory?? thanks Philippe
  3. Thanks for the ideas Al, but I found my problem. I had changed the music from Cust slide to the 'sound' line under the image as suggested by John, deleted the music in cust slide, but had omitted to uncheck the 'play new background' in cust slide. Everything works fine now. Thanks you for your time, Philippe
  4. I finished 4 PTE shows to be able to make a DVD with 4 menus from a trip, basically 1 show per area. Now all PTE work and look fine when they run in PTE, but not from the DVD. The 1st show does not play the music. It works fine when in 'Timeline' but not in preview thus, it does not get on the DVD, nor in EXE. Thank you, Philippe
  5. Amazing ! is there anything that can't be resolved. Frankly, part of the value of using this software is the amazing support forum. Thank you both so much, again Philippe
  6. Yhanks for the answer. That's what I was hoping, but with v.5.02 (I did not try this with any other version) the sound stops at the next slide change. Any idea why this is happening? Philippe
  7. I am just reading this thread in search of a solution to a similr question. I have a background music (saved in Project Options) and I have a sound that could start at a given slide, but lasts 3.5 slides. This sound I attached using 'Customize Slide\Music\play new background'. It works fine, but ... the project background music does not keep on, or even continue after the 3.5 slides are over. Is there a way to insert a sound that lasts more than a slide, and get the backgroung to stay in the background ? Thanks, Philippe
  8. Thank you very much John - that's tremendously helpful. The other posting is also quite interesting - it seems as though there is something to learn every day with PTE. Merci, Philipppe
  9. Actually, I am trying to make one EXE file out of my 4 slideshows. thanks, Philippe
  10. I created a few separate shows to be able to make a DVD with a menu separating each portion of the slideshow, but wanted to know if there is an easy way to combine the shows into one. Thank you, Philippe
  11. ok guys, here are some details: Show size (time length) - The show is 45 mins, but I tried with a reduced 5 minute version and got the same problem Disk brand and type ( dvd-r, dvd+r ... +rw ... etc) - I tried with Verbatin, RCA and generic - I trien RW and R, both + DVD Burner (brand, model) - it's a HP, came with Media Center computer DVD Burner program (brand, version) - The Sonic Digital Media Plus v7 works fine, it's the WnSoft Video burner that does not. I actually made a a DVD with Sonic - but then why bother purchasing the WnSoft burner ? Hard Drive free space available (mb or gb) - 64 GB free on drive (not sure if it's all available in C:\Documents and Settings\philippe\Local Settings\Temp\) but I also tried it with buffer going directly to C:\Temp\ - Working with Pentium ® Dual core 2.80 GHz and 3 GB RAM PS Someone changed my posting to the right section (DVD Video, etc) and Igor actually replied to me asking the same. He said they would look into it on Monday. If you have any other suggestion in the meantime, go right ahead. Thanks all, Philippe
  12. Well, I tried again with no posotive result. I uninstalled V5, rebooted. Installed V5.01 and ran the Video Builder again, but I got the same message (Disk Burn error). Any other siggestions ?? thanks, Philippe
  13. I was using v.5.0 not 5.01 and yes I burnt DVD's before usung another software - and I was alreasy at the lowest speed. Got another reply from 'administrator' suggesting I reboot, reinstall and try again .. guess I will have to do that. It's just that the process is quite long, given the lenght of the presentation. Maybe I will test it with a smaller presentation first. Will let you know Thanks, Philippe
  14. The whole thing works fine, all the way to the last 2% of the DVD burning session, 2 hours later. why is the connection to 'Burn.exe' failing ?? (see attached) thanks, Philippe
  15. Yes, e are neighbours, I know Excel fairly well. Will try it and give yo some news. Thank you very much, Philippe
