Hi, I need some help here: "GSpot" tells me I have 39 video codecs installed. When I click on "Video Codec" button on "Making video" window I can see a list of only 12 codecs. When trying using them, most don't create the avi and I get error: "catCantSetVideoFormat". I have WMP v.10 (probably with all new codecs). How can I display all codecs and can I use any of them ? What's the meaning of the error message ? Does any one know a free reliable wmv2mpeg and avi2mpeg converter ? Thanks Granot

"PTEkeeper" Keep an archive with easy access of your shows and their corresponding videos. Each item has three fields: Show file, Video file (made from the show) and Remark about the show or video. You can view show and video (in internal player) by selecting the file from the list and click the button you want. You can copy show or video to another folder. All files in the folder of the selected file can be displayed and you can easily run any video (by Drag and Drop). You can view video in full screen (for normal view click on screen). You can Mute sound. Download from My Webpage (search for "PTEkeeper" in the PTE section). I will appreciate if you write some feedback here. You can always download the newest version from this forum and install it over your previous installation. The new version will be automatically registered and it is free since you are registered. Every ney version is published on this forum by Igor the developer of PTE.

Never. But one thing I know - I alwayes have problems sending attachments to AOL, even 1kb simple txt files !

Zip the exe and send zip file only. Recommended: Split the file using the free Gsplit.

I assume you drag the selection mark from right to left or from down to up. Please try from left to right and from up down. The reason, if this is that you start from big X and Y points on screen and go to small X and Y. This means the dimensions are negative, and when trying to save an image with negative dimensions, it crashes. Granot

It stays in your system tray and can be auto start when you Startup your computer. You can also put frequently used emails or web sites. By the way, I also made a small "Phonebook" with persons details, and direct access to his email and url. (I was very productive this weekend ). Granot

Hi all, I'm working on email utility for PTE which will enable you to insert your info in the users email to you (when he sends email though the show). This will enter your email, subject, and content of email. User can make changes before he sends. I made this utility for myself and it works well on my "WinXP pro SP2" and my "Outlook Express". but.... I'm not sure it will work on other Operating Systems and with other email programs. To make it work with all, I will need to make a lot of scripting and thinking, and as you know, I'm very lazy. So if you want to try it and send me your tests results - that will be very nice and helpful. Also let me know any suggestion or comment you have. Gérard, Maybe this is the reason utility does not work in the office ?? Win NT4 makes a lot of problems. Many new programs today will not work also on Win95 or less. Some don't work on XP with SP2. Granot

As I promised to Gérard: I addded a small check box so you can decide if you want to save captured images to program folder or to your selected folder. Unchecking the "Auto Save" will allow you to browse and choose destination folder to save image. I uploaded new version 1.0.0.1 Granot

Gérard Thank you for your comment. Yes, "Capture Window" and "Capture Object" are the same. As for the ability to browse and save captured image in a folder you want with the name you want, it is possible but then it will make everything slow. But I will see if I can add this as option. By the way, talking about "stealing" pictures, I got many thanks from few members who recovered their lost images from compiled exe using "RestorePTE". Ok, ok.. due to some opinions lately heard on this forum about utilities, I admit in advance that all that my Version 2.0 of "PTE_backup" does, can be done without it. As a matter of fact, it is useless utility. But since I know there might be some members who can find it useful, here is what is new in version 2.0. Run the utility, click on its window and you will be able to browse and open PTE file. Click "Save" to save the first backup file. Now work on it as you always do. The utility will sit in your system tray and keep an eye on your moves. Each time you click on "Save" (which means you over-write your previous saved project), the utility will save a backup of your pte file in your project folder. All is done automatically and there is no limit to backups. Granot

By the way, I made for my use a small utility which is like a Help file for HTML pages. It has a links window on left side and big window on right side where the page is displayed when click on the link. Links can be arranged in chapters. All pages are kept in one folder. It can be useful for presentations which need a lot of text attached or for displaying a book. I do not publish this one but if someone like to get it, please write me (it's free). Thank you Granot

Bill, First, I like honest people who say what they really think, no matter what other say. Checking this utility I realize the anount of work and time put to create it. I assume it took Jean-Claude at least a year or two from the moment he started working on it. If you go back a year or two and check the features available on PTE, you will see that at least half of them did not exist yet. The point is that there is a big difference between a program and a utility for spesipic program. For example, I have made some general utilities which where most needed for me when I used Windows 98, but now I don't need them any more because my Windows XP has those features not existing on Win98. A simple example is the ability to see thumbs in Explorer. Even some of my PTE utilities are no more needed since few last PTE versions. In some way, and it depends who is using this utility and for what, you are right. Some people find one way of doing a specific task easier for them and some another way. For example, I never use Hot Keys to copy, paste or any other task, but other people do use them always. Notice that the "Dark Table" feature is a very needed one, but again, not for all, only for those who need it. See my topic Changing Transition points - I started work on a utility which was almost done and then Igor wrote that what my utility is going to do will be probably available in next versions. I hope this point is clear. Also I assume that the different view of files and settings of your pte show available in this utility will be very welcomed by some users, but again, some will never use them. The only thing I have to say "against" this utility is that for the avarage pte user it is a bit complicated. And again, some people like to have one big program which make everything, while other people like to have many small programs, each dedicated to a simple task. Another point is that many people do not read "Help" files. This is a very important thing that programers should notice, and they usually do not. I never read Help files, unless there is a short "Readme" file. I have no time and no patience, and I know I am not alone there. Here is another point: I am sure at least half of PTE users never use synchronization ! But it is there, you want you use it, you don't want, you don't use it. The same is with any utility, it's up to the user to use all its features or only one feature. I am also sure that one or two years from now, in PTE version 7 or 8, PTE will have most of the features of this utility. Even then, like now, I know some users will prefer to use the utility, and some will not, depending on where you feel in ease and in more control. Any utility is great or useless - it all depends on the user's specific needs and poing of vew. Granot

HideTaskBar utility for PicturesToExe Freeware New version, made by marcovelo - only 34 kb. HideTaskBar is a program allowing to hide the system taskbar during the whole execution of a PTE show. The taskbar is automatically restored as soon as the show ends or is canceled (use of ESC key). HideTaskBar does not take CPU ressource when waiting the show to end. You can find it on My Web Site.
