  1. Hi Dave, I understand that the Black Image sized at 1920 x 1080 is the screen. What I am asking is, do I have a screen/Black Image for every image in the sequence. This can be done quite easily by using "Change Image" and replacing it with the Black Image and in O&A "Add/Image" where the "image" is the one which has been replaced by the Black Image (if that makes sense!) and repeating this for every image in the sequence. If you are saying that the Black Image or Parent is only used once, this means that all the timings for the whole show need to be done by adding all the individual images in the sequence and making them a Child to the one Parent and then using Keyframes for the transitions and timing. Sorry if I sound a little confused but I want to get this correct as the video will be used as a demonstration for a historical venue. Thanks agin Tony
  2. Hi Dave, Many thanks for your reply and for the link. I have watched your demo and would just like to confirm that you seem to be saying every image of the sequence needs to be placed on a black background of 1920 x 1080 as a child. I am assuming each image requires a separate 1920 x 1080 black background image and when the sequence is complete set the "% of the slide to show main images" in the project options /default tab should be set to 90-92% depending on TV. Is this correct? Tony
  3. Hi Lin, Many thanks for your reply. In order to get a good quality image I am guessing from your reply I need to create the project using the"Fixed Size Of Image" box checked and come down to 800 x 450 to retain the aspect ratio and improve the quality of the DVD. I don't have a smart TV and the disc is for use by a third party as an educational sequence. I will give it a go and post the results. All the best Tony
  4. Hi Folks, I have just burnt a DVD using the default settings in PTE. Unfortunately the quality is really poor. On the TV it is extremely pale and the resolution is also very poor. I am obviously doing something wrong. The images are all 1920 x 1080 and the created video was 480Mb. The video plays on the PC with the correct colours/brightness but the resolution is poor. What am I doing wrong? I note there is a new DVD burning feature available but not sure if this is what is needed. TC
  5. Hi John, Sorry for delay in getting back to you. That is what I think I did and as I mentioned to Tom it worked OK. I hadn't realised that there was effectively an invisible scroll wheel on the Apple Mouse. Thank you for your help Tony
  6. Hi Tom, I dug out the old apple Mouse and gave it a few swipes as though there were a scroll wheel there and it worked OK. Thanks for the info. All the best Tony
  7. Hi John, Thanks for the reply. Not sure what you mean by one finger up/down. I have tried using Ctrl+Shift+ arrow keys up/down but all that seems to do is zoom the main window and display other open windows. Is that what you mean? Tony
  8. I am having the same problem but use a roller ball mouse with the Mac and unfortunately can't get to zoom timeline using this method. Any suggestions please. Many thanks TC
  9. Hi Yatchsman & Davegee, Many thanks for your replies. I have followed Davegee's instructions and this has resolved the issue. It is not often I need to produce a DVD and have previously lived with the problem, however on this occasion I am sending the DVD to someone else and really wanted it to show correctly on his TV. Where would we be without the forum. Thank you again for your assistance it is appreciated. All the best Tony
  10. Hi All, I hope someone can help me. I have produced a sequence using images of 5" x 7" and 7" x 5" and made a DVD of this sequence. Unfortunately when viewed on the television the images are stretched and squashed to fill the screen. I have set the sequence project options for the aspect ratio to 3 x 2 which is as near 7 x 5 as I can get and have tried the "Fix Size Of Slide " both checked and unchecked. Neither has solved the problem. When running on the PC there is no problem. Am I missing something or is this a common problem? Many thanks Tony
  11. Just an advance notice of the Leeds Audio Visual Group 38th Annual Colour & Music Spectacular which takes place on Thursday 7th, Friday 8th and Saturday 9th March 2013. The show is believed to be the longest running annual audio visual event in the world and raises money for Wheatfield's, St Gemma's and Martin House Hospices and has donated some £20,000 to these causes. The event takes place at St Chad's Parish Centre, Otley Road, Headingley, Leeds LS16 5JT at 7.30 pm each night and tickets are available at £6 each from Tony Collinson on 07831 093824. As the show usually plays to a full house of 200 people each night obtaining tickets as soon as possible is recommended. We look forward to meeting up with members of the forum at this event. Many thanks for your interest Tony
  12. Hi Peter, Many thanks for the post. So far things seem to be working OK but I will certainly give your idea a try. All the best Tony
  13. Hi, Thanks for the post. I am hoping that by using either "Run application or open file" or the "Open web page" commands along with the appropriate web address e.g http://www.wnsoft.com will allow other users to access the linked files on the internet. I am putting together a disc for our local club with various bits and pieces including various links so I am hoping they will be able to visit the links directly. All the best TC
  14. Hi, Problem solved! It was all to do with Internet Options and default programs. Internet Explorer was not selected and therefore could not open web page specified. Now working on both x32 bit and x64 bit systems. Thanks to those currently wondering what the problem was. Tony
  15. Hi Yatchsman, I notice you use Run Application or Open File as opposed to Open Web Page. I have just tried this on my Xp laptop and still no success. Not sure what the problem is but really woulde like to solve this one. Tony
  16. Hi, Just as a further comment, I have tried to carry out the same exercise on my Windows Xp laptop and have the same problem. Pressing the button does not access the internet but there is no message re application and filename extension. Is there some setting which may be preventing this action? Tony
  17. Hi, I am trying to set up a button or text in Objects and Animations which will open up a web page. Using a Windows 7 x32bit system this seems to work OK but will not work on a x64 bit system. Can anyone help please. Tony
  18. Does anyone know if it is possible to clone several keypoints together. Perhaps it would make it clearer if I say I would like to keep a clock pendulum on screen ticking to a regular beat. Therefore, once I have set up say half-a-dozen keypoints it would be very useful to copy and paste them for the duration the ticking of the clock which could be on screen for a couple of minutes or more. I know it is possible to clone individual keypoints but can't seem to find a way to clone more than one at a time. Hope that makes sense. TC
  19. Hi Colin, Thanks for the stroll down memory lane. Some great reminders of the past and yes, I do remeber the words! Would love to know where you took all the images. Was it a museum of some description, if so it is obviously worth a visit. Many thanks TC
  20. Hi John, I am just about in the same position. My Mac arrives next week. I will be contacting Adobe to transfer my CS5 Windows license to a Mac license and I guess the fun will begin then. The guy at the shop tells me files must be stored in a certain way so as to be accessible on both Windows ans Mac platforms so I will need to get this sorted out pretty quicky. Will keep my eye on this topic and hope to learn from the experts! All the best TC
  21. Hi Davy, Well done a great reminder of how fortunate we are. All the best TC
  22. Hi Peter, Details also available and booking form at: Leeds AV Group All the best TC
  23. Hi Maureen et al, I have seen various discussions/emails re resolution/aspect ratio/image size and there is still no standard or clarity for those involved in competition work. As sequences tend to be fairly lengthy in terms of obtaining images and production then organisers should be offering some guidance on this. As modern digital SLR cameras use a 3:2 format consideration must be given to the composition of the image when taking the photograph as cropping will occur if using either the 4:3, 5:4 or the wide screen format. However, I am interested to know a little more about the 1920 x 1080 projectors, what distance does it have to be from the screen to fill it. Now I know that that depends on the size of the screen but understand that at a recent competition one of these projectors had to moved to the back of the hall before the image was any where near large enough due to the throw of the lens as even at full zoom the image was too small when closer to the screen. If this is the case then would they be suitable for say small club rooms where they would more regularly be used. As always technology marches on and I guess this discussion will rear its head again in the future. Interesting reading as always All the best TonyC
  24. Hi, Don't know if this will help but it is worth a look: http://camstudio.org/ All the best Tony
  25. Hi Brian, Thanks for the reply. 3:2 is also the 35mm camera format and we have some members who prefer to use this format and are reluctant to crop. As a result we project some sequences with a black band at the top and bottom. Hence the need to ensure they are produced at the correct size to fill the width of the screen without re-sizing upwards and therefore giving some degredation of the images. Interesting topic though. All the best Tony
