I did it in a similar way. The transformed top part looks very odd (in both examples), and I was very surprised that in the scene it actually works not too bad. Regards, Xaver

The following project file seems to provide a better solution. Regards, Xaver TBox-Lid-mod2.zip

A rough attempt. Things would be easier if PTE would allow to reposition the 3D observation point. Regards, Xaver TBox-Lid-mod_Jan18-2012_17-16-24.zip

Wings Platinum offers the feature that you want to see, but users are warned to use it. Automatic color management reduces the performance significantly. Even with Wings you have to prepare different versions of graphical data for different color managed monitors Regards, Xaver

What he tried to do isn't that bad! Some competitors allow to use PNG files as masks where the image part is ignored, and the included alpha channel is used as mask. Best regards, Xaver

... the solution for the perfectionist Best regards, Xaver

That's what I have said (Post 14). Regards, Xaver

In your situation, you do not need a mask container. The PNG file already includes the desired alpha channel. Just put screen.png on top of view.jpg, see project "car2". Regards, Xaver car2_Jan16-2012_15-32-59.zip

Use the mouse (shift up) in order to enlarge the space for the slide list. Regards, Xaver

This sounds misleading. PTE's behavior with respect to color management is transparent. The user has to prepare his/her images according to the color profile of the monitor where the final show is to be presented, see also here. Regards, Xaver

This is a good idea. Delete all slides except the one which contains the problem. Save the project using a new name, and export it using the function "Create Backup in Zip". Make an upload of the zip file to mediafire, or dropbpox , or ... an show us the link. Regards, Xaver

Harbrimar, Perhaps you have inserted the PNG image (windscreen) as a child object of the background image. In this case, it will inherit the background's zoom effect. Regards, Xaver

During playback, PTE loads the images as they are, and it does not produce its own graphical data as Wings Platinum or m.objects. If PTE would run shows color managed, transformations of color spaces had to be performed on the fly. As a consequence, the overall performance might be bad. What I would regard as possible were a feature that PTE would support the creation of copies of a given project whose images were transformed to chosen color spaces. On the other hand, this can be done easily outside of PTE. Export a PTE project via "Backup in Zip". Unzip this copy into a new folder. View the folder in XnView. Perform a batch conversion in XnView while transforming all images to the color space that you want to see. Regards, Xaver

Highlighted slide after multiple delete in slide list
xahu34 replied to aplman's topic in Suggestions for Next Versions
At present time, when deleting a group of slides (contiguous or not), PTE seems to preserve the position of the last slide (temporal order) that has been highlighted for being deleted. Regards, Xaver -
Keypoints for shadows have been asked for by user thedom quite a long time ago (here), and I think that it would be fine to have them. I sometimes place a rectangle (no Edge antialiasing) behind an image (combined with a parent/child construction), and assign the shadow to the rectangle. In cases where the image is part of a bigger one using a mask, the situation is less fine, as the shadow providing rectangle has to sit outside the mask container. This is the reason why I made a suggestion only a few days ago (here). Regards, Xaver
-
When I place a small image on top of another one, I often give the small image a drop shadow. If the small image is obtained from a bigger one using a (rectangular) mask, there is no chance to produce the shadow. Of course there are workarounds using objects in lower layers outside the mask container, but I would not like to discuss these workarounds here. What I would like to see is the drop shadow option for the mask itself. The mask defines the area in which part of my image is shown, and I would like it to have this area shown with an (optional) shadow. Regards, Xaver PS: I would like to remind the developers of my proposal shown here:

upgrade 5.6.4 to new Picts EXE version
xahu34 replied to amandagrantham's topic in General Discussion
I cannot provide absolute clarification. As a user of the old standard edition, I can describe what I am able to do: All functions for designing PTE projects Export of projects as EXE for PCs Creation of videos using the AVI container (virtual AVIs using the PTE-Codec for trans-coding, any other codec that is installed on my system) Creation of screen savers (I have never used this feature) Export of MP4/H.264 videos, videos for iPad, creation of DVDs, executables for MAC, publication on YouTube and Facebook, they all are not possible (directly from PTE). In some cases there are workarounds which may not be to everyone's taste. Regards, Xaver -
Boogie, Have a look at the attached example (PTE project without images, just rotating rectangles). Regards, Xaver 3D_Rotation_Profiles.zip
-
If I remember it correctly, the speed of Pan Z can be controlled via the speed options for an ordinary Pan (Pan X and Y), while the speed of Rotate X and Rotate Y can be controlled via the speed options for an ordinary Rotation (to be regarded as Rotate Z). Regards, Xaver

The problem of the position of the observation point has been discussed here. Regards, Xaver

Perhaps a misunderstanding!? There are forum members who present their work in this forum (Section: Slideshows created in PicturesToExe), and they ask for some feedback. For the reviewer it is very helpful to have the new navigation bar. Example: Assume a show to last 10 minutes. When watching it you have got the impression that there is a bad transition towards the end of the presentation. You want to see this particular transition again. Now, do you want to sit there for another 9 to 10 minutes? Regards, Xaver

My choice: Samson Media ONE 5a (at home and at my AV-group). A bit large when being used with a computer, strong enough to fill a room with 40 to 50 persons. Regards, Xaver
