Umberto, I had this effect with versions 5.2 and 5.5, but only on systems with onboard graphics. How does your notebook look like? Best regards, Xaver Munich

Umberto, This behavior of the Del-key was introduced here (after some discussion). Best regards, Xaver

Hello Umberto, This function can be useful in cases where you want to place the transitions according to the beat (meter) of the music. You can first shift the slides to the right, and while playing the show in the mini-player, you can then place the transitions using the button "New transition" according to the music. Igor, Using the windowed mode is a kind of compromise, of course. I just made a proposal which might be helpful for some users with ATI systems. The decision is on your side. Best regards, Xaver

Igor, It is my impression that it would be helpful, at least for Win XP users with ATI cards who use PZR in a restricted way, as many photographers do. So, I would propose to extend the windowed mode in order to achieve a (simulated) full screen with a user defined aspect ratio, and/or a full screen window with a slide area of fixed size and the option to fill the outside part of the slide area. Best regards, Xaver

Igor, I'm sorry to say that I haven't had the time so far to look at the new version close enough, so let me just ask one question: Will the final version of 5.6 include a screen option with simulated full screen mode? Best regards, Xaver Munich

I'm glad to notice that there seems to be an increase of awareness with respect to the off-topic problem Best regards, Xaver

Peter, It may be true in many cases that the graphics card is the weak link in the chain, but not always. As I reported earlier, when using the projector Canon Realis SX50, that long pans which run perfectly on a standard monitor, show synchronization effects on this particular projector. These effects show a rather non-deterministic behavior, maybe they depend on the internal states of memories or buffers. This is true for shows programmed with PTE as well as with m.objects. What I heard is that these shows do not always achieve a constant frame rate, and it seems to me that different projectors show different reactions, while monitors (in most cases) seem to behave well. Another observation was that the bad effects happened with a PC with an Nvidia 8500 GT, as well as with a PC for gamers with 2 linked Nvidia 9800 cards. Best regards, Xaver Munich

Igor, Is it possible to provide a list of all new features? Best regards, Xaver

Peter, I would never expect that you intended to offend any other user in this forum, not even me I have made my experience with teaching students mathematics, and I think that it's often better not to present complete recipes, but just giving hints to explore the situation and to learn general principles. Maybe, what I did above wasn't a good example. Best regards, Xaver

Peter, when reading your post and comparing it with mine, I ask myself which procedure is more helpful: just referring to the crucial point or giving a detailed description. I'm not sure about the answer. Best regards, Xaver

Malcolm, If you set the y-coordinate of the center to 100 (for both key frames), does this provide the effect that you would like to have? Best regards, Xaver

It's nice to see that you bear it with humour. Regards, Xaver

Hi Peter, here you apply the registration method which did not like to consider in the corresponding FAQ Best regards, Xaver

See post no 4! Regards, Xaver

Hi Yachtsman1, All I want to say is that you can check via the registry editor if the registration key has been installed correctly or not. What the program does (in any case), I do not know. If the key is included correctly, it should work! I indicated the position, where the key is stored. Warning: Once you have found it, do not publish it, as everybody who will see it will be in the position to (mis)use it. A screenshot typically will no show the whole key, but be careful anyway. What you did, you looked at the entries "PicturesToExe" and "PicturesToExe_RegType". Four resp. three positions below you see (as your images show) the entry "PTE". This one contains the registration key (Again: Do not publish!!!). You may look at your friend's PC and check if the registry contains the said entry. If it is there, and the program does not work, you should ask the service! Best regards Xaver

Hi Yachtsman1, You may look what's in the registry. Open the Run window, type "regedit", click ok. Do not make any changes in the Registry Editor! Follow the path: My Computer\ HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PTE. Inside the key "PTE" you should find the following entry: Name: Key, Type: REG_SZ, Data: *****the license key*******. Best regards, Xaver

Thank you Colin for the explanation, Deliberately provocative, this may be true for some of my contributions, but (hopefully) not to be regarded as malicious. Best regards, Xaver

Good idea, I'm looking forward to read and learn. Best regards, Xaver

David, I guess that "AV group" here denotes the group of photographers who make audio visual productions, and who are organized, e.g. (in the UK) via a membership in particular groups within the Royal Photographic Society. Best regards, Xaver H. Munich

Ian, I hope that you do not give up. PTE uses a particular fullscreen mode which provides best performance. In this mode, under Win XP, the ATI drivers ignore the color profiles. With the actual version you may try a windowed mode (Project Options > Screen > Screen Options), and see if problem vanishes. As far as I know, the new version 5.6 (announced for the very near future) will provide a solution. Best regards, Xaver H. Munich

Ian, please give us some information on your PC (Operating System (XP or Vista), Type of graphics card, ...) Best regards, Xaver H. Munich

Do you consider this as a disadvantage? Best regards, Xaver Munich

Ken, You really seem to be intractable (please correct me if this expression does not hit the point), but your arguments cannot convince me. The Oktoberfest, similar to many other things posted here, has nothing to do with PTE. I just mentioned it as a typical example which should be avoided. By the way, I do not like this Munich event very much, and I'll be very happy when all the drunken visitors will be at home again. Regards, Xaver
