  1. Hello John, why don't you prepare your texts in MS Word or OpenOffice or a Text editor. You only need to copy and past them into the input field of PTE. Best regards, Xaver H. Munich
  2. Hello Paul, Please see here. This problem occurs again and again, but typically it isn't a serious one. Best regards, Xaver H. Munich
  3. Perhaps you should write a post to the forum Ideas and suggestions for next versions. Best regards, Xaver
  4. Gary, as Peter said: the Set Defaults Button never belongs to a particular tab. If you want to change your comments, you must do it in the comments tab. Changes will only be accepted if you press OK, and they do not always show up directly. In some cases you have to highlight a slide to see the effect. Best regards, Xaver Munich
  5. Maybe it would be nice to have buttons with dynamic width. Furthermore, the seize of the thumbnails in the file panel shows some strange behavior when changing window seizes! But I think that all this is not of great importance. Best regards, Xaver Munich
  6. Hi Dave, While using the Timeline view (which seems to be the standard view) on my 1280x1024 monitor, I have the following effect: When I shift the line between the mini-player and the file panel to the left (while enlarging the player's screen), the time field and Timed Points button will be covered. After a shift to the right, they will reappear. Best regards, Xaver Munich
  7. Hello, many users have IrfanView as their image viewer. Let me remind you that it has appropriate features for resizing/resampling, as well (single application and batch). Restriction: Irfanview does not work with 16-bit images. Best regards, Xaver Munich
  8. Hi lgreen35, Just a question: Is mediarecover your company? Maybe you are in the wrong forum!? Regards, Xaver H. Munich
  9. Ken, my understanding of "to install a new version over an old one" is the following: to make an update by installing the new SW while replacing/updating the old one. Correct me if I'm wrong! Best regards, Xaver Munich
  10. Version 5.5 will not be installed over 5.1. They can coexist, as well. Best regards, Xaver Munich
  11. Hi Yachtsman1, perhaps you should check if SP3 has been properly installed. Check also if your anti-malware is still ok. It has been reported that SP3 sometimes conflicts with this kind of SW. When I installed SP3, I first deinstalled my virus SW and reinstalled it afterwards. Best regards, Xaver H. Munich
  12. Hello Jean-Pierre, Hopefully you are right! Best regards, Xaver Munich
  13. Peter, sorry, I'm thinking of something different: Zooming of an image inside a frame where pieces outside the frame are clipped, but without using a background with a hole. The effect that I mean can be seen in JPD's show "Dis, la nostalgie", which Jean-Pierre had to program in a very complicated way (see also here). With appropriate masks it would be quite easy to do it. Features of this kind are contained in m.objects and Wings Platinum (WP calls it "Bildfeld-Clipping" (~ image field clipping)). Best regards, Xaver Munich
  14. Hello all, This example does not jet show what I would expect from a mask: Moving windows with animated content, with an animated background ... But let's be patient, and wait and see. Best regards, Xaver Munich
  15. Hello Yachtsman1, See here and here or here. See also the posts of Conflow! Regarding PTE and SP3: No problems on my machine, so far! Best regards, Xaver H. Munich
  16. Hi Ken, normally I do not have many problems with AV-shows with English narration (and I had none with the "Camenra-and-me-production", but I would have liked to see the images a bit longer). So I think that there is no need for further research on this topic. Peter asked for some feedback, and I made a small remark, that's all . Peter can do and surely will do what he likes to, and that's fine. Best regards, Xaver Munich
  17. Hi Lumenlux, thank you for your friendly comment on my English. I'm pretty sure that you would be disappointed if we met in a conversation, where I had not enough time for the formulation, and without "dict.leo.org" at hand. Regarding Peter's production, it is difficult for me to decide if my comment refers to my non-English native tongue or if it is personal preference, maybe a mixture of both. Best regards, Xaver Munich
  18. Peter, Quite a nice show, but slow down and give us a little bit more time to hear (and to understand), and to see. Best regards, Xaver Munich
  19. Proposals in this directions have been made in the past, e. g. see here. Best regards, Xaver H. Munich
  20. Igor, Doesn't it seem logical to have the feature of ignoring intermediate keyframes to be dependent on just gluing the frames instead of having a non-linear speed profile ? Best regards, Xaver Munich
  21. Gary, Go to "View" and tick "Show tree". Hopefully the desktop is contained in the tree window. In Win XP prof the desktops of the users can be found in "C:\Documents and Settings\username\Desktop". Best regards, Xaver Munich
  22. Igor, What you say seems to be true in this particular example. In general, it would be very helpful, if it were possible to position the cursor in the O&A-window to a precise position (via keyboard) in order to create a new keypoint without any need to reposition it after creation (as repositioning will "move" the inherited parameters for PRZ, with the consequence that the original flow of the animation will get lost). Best regards, Xaver Munich
  23. Peter, You shouldn't take my recent comment too serious. If something has to be explained which cannot be done in a few lines, everything is ok. On the other hand it often happens that forum members describe their problems or solutions giving lengthy examples instead of presenting them in general terms, in a short, perhaps somewhat more abstract way. Best regards, Xaver Munich
  24. Peter, I'm glad to see that you have found your solution. Using nested frames or using a dummy frame outside (which can be deleted after final use) to make the intermediate adjustments, will in the end lead to an equivalent result. So let me come back to my suggestion from April 9, see here. If we had this feature, nested frames or dummy frames could both be avoided in this situation. Best regards, Xaver Munich Additional remark (to whom it my concern): For most of the non-native speakers in this English forum, it would be easier if some of of you, when posting, could come to the point more directly. Sometimes I regard it as tedious to read all the odd and ends. There must be something between writing books or stories and the telegraphic style of Ken.
  25. Hi, I forgot to say one thing: You have to program the start keypoint and the final one first (with their rotation parameters). If you then insert the additional ones in the way I described, they will inherit the appropriate angles. Best regards, Xaver Munich
