  1. Thanks Lin. This is an important point as my AV Shows (outside of home) are usually shown on Camera Clubs equipment. Certainly my Clubs laptop is a poorer specification to mine and I suspect most Clubs laptops have been a conpromise on price/specification without much chance of them being upgraded due to the restricted finances generally of Clubs. I have successfully used some templates as 'introductions' to shows and launching 'menus'. I will test future templates on my Xp laptop before spending any time on adapting them for my use. Thanks again bwat
  2. Hi Have just found this topic when searching for an answer to my problem and they may be related. I have downloaded some templates from The Dom Sharing Group but find that althouigh they run Ok on my Vista machine any exe file produced from them with not run an Ap machines (have tried it on three differnt computers). The animation is ferky and finally just grinds to a halt. This is particulary so using the '10 Card TPL'. I similarly use my Xp laptop connected to a projector for AV shows which is a Dell 5150 with 1GB ram and a NVIDA GeForce 258k video card. I would have liked to incorporate some of The Dom templates into my shows and was considering purchase of others to give added variation and interest but if they will not run on Xp this is out of the question. Are advanced animations impossible to run on Xp or is it a local problem to me.
  3. Hello Lin Many thanks, the button now has the three colour attributes. I realy appreciate the support and help of you and the Forum. With most programmes you are left on your own if you cannot get it to work correctly but the tutorials and tips with PTE are superb. Thank you bwat
  4. PTE file attached of typical menu. Note for each small buttons there are 3No colour choice boxes in Properties. For clarity I have set these as black for normal text, changing to red when cursor positioned over text and changing to blue when button clicked in Preview or on created exe file. The larger button has been added for this example and you will see that there is only 1No colour choice box in Properties which changes the normal text colour only. The other 2No boxes are not available when adding additional buttonsMENUEXAMPLE.ZIP. bwat
  5. I have upgraded to PTE v5.1 for VIsta compatibility and converted menus original constructed in v4.48 OK using the standard 'Aqua' style but when trying to add an additional button I am unable replicate the choices of colour of the text available on the conveted buttons. In the object/animation properties box of the original buttons, below the font box and to the right of the B/I/U boxes there are three 'colour' option boxes. The first one changes the text colour, the second changes the text colour to an alternative colour when the cursor is posiotioned over the text and the third changes to text colour to an alternative colour when the button is clicked. However when adding an additional button there is only one colour option box which gives the choice of text colour only. The other boxes are not available preventing any additional buttons performing as the rest of my menu. How do I access these other button/text colour option boxes when adding more buttons.
  6. Many thanks for your pointers. I had mapped network drives but there appears a 'quirk' in Vista. If you map selecting the icon in 'network' it maps the drive as a folder. Your pointer of right clicking to disconnect could not be carried out. However by selecting the drive in the folder tree and mapping from there the drives are correctly mapped with a drive icon in 'computer' rather than a folder icon. All is now correct in PTE. Many, many thanks for your help.
  7. Network drive appears, with icon, both in Computer (Vista heading in lieu of My Computer in Xp) and Network. I think mapping is Ok otherwise other applications would not be able to read them either. It is only PTE 5.1 which is giving me a problem.
  8. Thanks for your reply. Drives are mapped OK. They can be read from Explorer on the Vista machine and from other applications such as ACDSee, etc. It is only PTE that is not reading them.
  9. I have just purchased a new laptop running Vista Home Premium and have updated and installed PTE 5.1. The programme runs Ok but my Network Drives (on my Xp Desktop computer) are not displayed on the drive list (top LH screen) or the file tree. I am able to access all drives via 'file/open and open pte files and show selected image files in the file list. I am not however able to view other image files in the directory on the pte file drive to enable additonal images to be added. How do I get PTE 5.1 to display the network drives or how can I access them to add images. I am not experiencing any problems with other programmes so it is not a Vista share problem but appears to be in PTE 5.1.
  10. I also need this feature for some presentations and currently use an aternative programme for these shows because I could find the feature in PTE. However on now refering to PTE (v5.04) the drop down box does not include the choice of 'wait for keypress or mouse press for next slide'. I only have 'No actions after the slide' 'Stop at the end of the slide' or 'Loop this slide' choices. Am I looking in the wrong place.
  11. I have previously made several PTE shows using PTE v4.48 incorporating slides with a resolution of 600x400. The images were scanned from old original photographs and give poor definition at full screen but are acceptable at the lower size. On upgrading to PTE v5 the option to display my show at 600x400 appears to have been removed (ie No check box in Project Options/Screen/Fit to screen to be left unchecked) so that the images are only displayed at full screen. The option to use 'window mode' shows the desktop or other open programme behind the show which is unacceptable (v4.48 gave a black background around the images). How can the this v4.48 screen be obtained in v5.
