  1. Ken, Mick Porter, Davy, Dick and Colin - Glad you enjoyed the show and thanks to all of you for taking the time to comment. Maureen
  2. A-ha Dave, don't want you looking too closely. Seriously though, will do as you suggest in future. I hope you get better weather in Austria than we did. At the time we went, we were told they had had only 6 fine days in the previous 3 months. Doubt if I can get an a/v out of what I got there. Thanks for commenting. Maureen
  3. We recently returned from a wet week in Austria followed by a very snowy drive down into Italy where we stayed in Canazei, an excellent base for exploring the beautiful Dolomites. Fortunately the weather improved and we were able to view the very spectacular scenery. The slideshow can be downloaded at www.beechbrook.com/pte with grateful thanks, once again, to Bill. Maureen
  4. Jim - I absolutely loved this. Great pics and you have captured the mood of the island so well. It was of particular interest to me as I have just been working on a show comprising Iona, Lewis and Harris and Skye but in the end discarded it (for the time being) as I just wasn't satisfied with it. Super - look forward to some more from you. Maureen
  5. Hi Bill - you have some really nice shots on there; you must be very pleased with that new lens. What a place to be out and about! Maureen
  6. Hi Mark - Thanks for your personal message which I have just read. I have no objection to you posting it here; after all, this is what the Forum is about. Regarding the 'digital greens' - I did wonder about this. The ones I think to which you refer were taken on a very bright Spring morning when certainly the colours, particularly the grass, did appear to me to be quite vivid. I have saturation, contrast, etc, switched off in-camera as a RAW shooter, and am not a great one for the saturation slider in Photoshop. However, having revisited one or two of the slides maybe I have increased the contrast a bit too much for some. All a matter of personal taste and not least, how you remember the scene when you get back home and visit your RAW files. It was interesting to hear what your members thought about three music clips - food for thought for future a/vs. However, I did feel that the piece of music I used fitted what I was trying to create. Thanks for this feedback, Mark. I am very grateful as it's always useful to get other people's 'take' on what we create. It would be good if we had more interest in a/v at the Club of which I am a member. That way, we can all learn and improve more. Good to hear you are back at the Club. All the best and thanks again. Maureen
  7. Hi Andrew - I heartily agree with you as regards your homeland. There is nowhere like The Highlands and Islands of Scotland. I absolutely love being there and whilst I have a moan about the weather we always seem to experience, I always want to return. Colin - thanks for your kind words. I will pass your comments onto my son. Maureen
  8. Rick - thank you again. Ken - I don't think my son needed any 'teaching'. He's always had a pretty good eye. We occasionally get out together but come back with very different pics. Maureen
  9. These images were NOT taken by my self (I wish they were) but by my son during 2008/9 on holiday in Scotland. I asked him if I could create an a/v from them as I have more time than he has, also I think they are worth seeing and I am always envious of the good weather he enjoys whenever he is in the Highlands, which we both love. Thanks, yet again, to Bill who is hosting on www.beechbrook.com/pte Maureen
  10. So by the time you'd worn yourself out, walking through all those fields, climbed over the many walls, had a pint or two of 'Old Peculier' and had a shout at me, DID YOU ENJOY THE MUSIC or did you not? (The Balcony Scene from Romeo and Juliet by Craig Armstrong). M
  11. Thanks to everyone for their kind comments which are much appreciated. The Yorkshire Dales is a wonderful area and I would recommend it to anyone. I must have walked 1000s of miles there over the years. Bill - I hope you will soon be able to sort things out to enable you and your wife to get away. Mick - Hope you had a good day yesterday out photographing and that the weather was kind. Not long to wait now before you will be up here. Rick, Andrew,Dick and John - grateful thanks for taking the trouble to comment. It's always good to know that you have enjoyed the show. I apologise if I have left anyone out. Maureen
  12. Thanks, Rick. I'm retired so when the weather's good I'm out and about. Maureen
  13. SWALEDALE - along with Arkengarthdale the most northerly in the Yorkshire Dales National Park in the north of England. Swaledale is famous for its drystone walls and dozens of field barns, which are littered all along the valley, also - in the summer months - for its superb flower meadows. Man has left his mark on Swaledale, its hillsides and moorland heavily scarred with hushes, levels, etc, all reminders of its lead-mining history. Two long-distance footpaths meet here - The Coast to Coast and The Pennine Way. These photographs were taken mainly between the villages of Keld and Muker. Can be downloaded at www.beechbrook.com/pte Grateful thanks to Bill, as usual. Maureen
  14. Davy - it seems you have been hiding your light under a bushel. Really good images there and would love to see more. Maureen
  15. Hi Colin I have really enjoyed looking at this which I thought was interesting, well presented and some great pics, not to mention the beautiful weather! Thank you. Best regards Maureen
  16. John - thank you for your very generous comments. I thoroughly enjoy all aspects of creating these shows but it is especially encouraging when other people write to say that they, too, enjoy them. Maureen
  17. Davy - as always, very well done with nice, slow transitions. Hope you soon get your PC sorted. Maureen
  18. Thanks, Don. I do listen to what people say and I agree this show is better for the slightly longer slide duration. I'll bear in mind your comments about controlling the show by the space bar. Maureen
  19. Thanks, Davy. Now you have the set I hope you won't be dashing down to the local car boot sale this weekend. Have just watched your latest offering. I love the Charles Trenet version of La Mer although very different from Bobby Darin's. I wonder what you will give us next as I always look forward to seeing your shows. Always entertaining. Have a good weekend! Maureen
  20. Yes, Mick, you are right. Just a little longer. Maureen
  21. Mark - what a beauiful album - one any girl would be proud to have. A very sad story but we can only hope and pray that it will indeed bring a smile to Julie's face and who knows? Maybe......... Maureen
  22. INTO THE PYRENEES - PART 3. The third and final part starts off in the Pont d'Espagne above Cauteret. From Cauteret we travelled onto Oloron Sainte Marie where we drove into Val d'Aspe as far as the Spanish Border. We also visited Borse and Lescun on our way to St Jean de Luz before going onwards to Bilbao to catch our ferry back to UK. I have left the slides on slightly longer and reduced the transition times. Hope some might find this better. Bill at www.beechbrook.com/pte has yet again kindly agreed to host. Grateful thanks as always, Bill. Maureen
