It has always been like this, only main images show. It has been asked many times to also show images added in O&A. Maybe in a future version this can be done. Jill

Thanks Igor. Only one object was selected, but it is good to know that you can edit several at once if needed. Jill Ps you will find there is a missing image in the .PTE file I sent in the above post. But it is only a background image so not important.

A couple of problems 1. It seems that when I have Text Animations on several Objects that if I change one then the others revert to the default Dissolve. I have noticed this before but put it down to me doing something silly but it has happened again in a new project example I have 4 text Objects, initially I have them all set to 'Out' disabled while I work out the timings and keyframe starting positions the 'In' was set as follows - first Text Object is set to 'Zoom In', the others are 'Slide Down' all with a 3 sec duration - set by clicking the time under the 'In' Slider & changing it to 3 This worked as expected. I then changed the first Object to have an 'Out' which I set to 'Zoom In' When I played it in the O&A window the other 3 Text Objects had reverted to 'Dissolve' instead of the 'Slide Down' I went through & made sure the 'In' was still set to 'Slide Down' and set the 'Out' on all Objects to 'Zoom In' with a 2 sec out time. - again set by clicking on the time under the 'out' Slider This then seemed to work ok But I decided that the 2 sec 'Out' Time was too short & so I extended the duration of the Slide in Timeline by an extra 2 secs. It was 14 sec & I extended it to 16 secs by dragging the end of slide in Timeline 2. Now when I go back into the Text Animation box to adjust the 'Out' Durations I find that the durations of both 'In' and 'Out' have changed It appears to be going by the Percentage Time & not by the actural duration that I have typed in. If the user enters the 'In' and 'Out' Durations manually then they should stay fixed until changed by the user This is the last Slide in the project I have now got it working as I want, but I seem to have to keep going back & changing each Text Object more than once to get it to stay. Applying multiple displacement maps to an image
jkb replied to Rosemary A's topic in PTE AV Studio 11 Beta
As I said above, if for example you want 3 ripple areas, then you need Opacity Masks to 'Blank' out the areas where you don't want ripples. So add the Masks to everywhere you don't want affected. You may need several depending on how complex the shapes are. I have done it with just one mask for the overhanging branches, but if you don't want ripples in other areas then just add more Opacity Masks. Make sure that these are above the Displacement Mask Replace the file WaterRipple with your own image in the attached .pte file to see how to do it Jill Water.pte -
Applying multiple displacement maps to an image
jkb replied to Rosemary A's topic in PTE AV Studio 11 Beta
Hi Rosemary, you should really post this under the PTE11 Beta Topics Section. You only apply 1 displacement map to an image. To create movement you need to move the displacement map using keyframes, either via a Zoom or Pan or both. A small movement for a very subtle effect & a larger movement to be more visible You would them mask out areas that you don't want to move with normal opacity Masks. Play around with it & you will find out how to do it, it is the best way to learn Jill -

Thanks Igor, I didn't know that Jill -
you have a displacement Map - Circle Wave in your project, not an Opacity Mask When you add an Opacity Mask - Circle, you will see the chequer board transparent circle You then add another image into the Mask Content Jill

Opacity Mask is the standard Mask that we have had in all previous versions of PTE Use it add other images onto the background image Jill

When you installed 11 did you tick the box - associate with PTE? (or similar wording) Sounds like it was unticked - which I think is the default for betas, but not sure. This would explain why your project is opening with 10.0 or 10.5 I never tick that box while I am working with beta versions, so all my older shows I can simply double click in Explorer & they will open with 10.5 While I am working in the beta I always start PTE11 & then do a File Open - it will of course open the last project I was working on. Once PTE 11 is finally released I will then tick the associate box when I install it. Jill

You will need to have your plane as a .png file, then you can easily move it across the screen in front of another image Jill
-
if you have no animation on that image then it shouldn't move. There should only be 1 keyframe at the start & no others Which version of PTE are you using? Jill
-
videos can also be used as displacement maps. But to acheive the effect of height differences then a Normal Map is best. Jill

Any fonts that are on your computer will be picked up by PTE. Simply add them to the Windows Fonts folder. Jill -

I am assuming that these are exe files you are playing? Unless you specifically set to Windowed Mode then they will always fill the screen - why would you want it any smaller? Do you know which version of PTE these were created with? As I said above as long as you allowed 'Control of Keyboard' then you can easily move through using the left & right keyboard arrow keys. Also pressing the Spacebar will pause & restart the show. If you didn't allow Keyboard Control, then you have no way of controlling. You say some show controls so I assume you had the Nav Bar set to on with those. You talk about moving through the video? but if these are exe shows then it is not a video. The keyboard arrows or on screen arrows will move you through 1 slide at a time. As I suggested above as long as you have the project files then you can recreate these in the latest version of PTE and set them up how you want them to play. See Project Options - Screen Tab & Control Tab You could also create an MP4 file as output which depending on which program you use to play them will allow you to quickly scrub through the video & adjust the window size it is played at. If you don't have the original project files (you should always save these & keep backups) then you have no way of altering. Hope this helps Jill -
It will work up to 7, after that it was considered to be a new product. If you only have 5, then you can upgrade to 7 for free. Anything after that you will have to purchase. You will find that the improvements are well worth the cost, the program has changed a lot. Even going from 5 to 7 there are big changes. The developers need to make money to keep on improving PTE AV Studio. They cannot work for nothing. You can download the latest version & try it out for 30 days for free. The current price is still a lot cheaper than some other products & well worth it, give it a go Jill

You need to have version 10.5 to be able to run on a Mac. If your key is for an early version - up to 7 then your key will work with all previous versions. After that you will need to purchase a new key, Jill

Hi Don, Sadly Lin Evans passed away, so you will find it very difficult to communicate with him now. If on your old shows you allowed 'Control of Keyboard' then you can easily move through using the left & right keyboard arrow keys. Also pressing the Spacebar will pause & restart the show. If you still have the projects then you can easily open them in a later version of PTE You can download any of the earlier versions from the website. https://www.wnsoft.com/en/pte-av-studio/old-versions/ Jill -
Hi Gary, thanks for sharing the video, some lovely pics. Can I sugest to you that you make all your images the same aspect ratio, 16:9 It will flow much better, as it is distracting when images don't match. Difficult without seeing the originals, but yes I agree they do look a little oversaturated, I am viewing on my laptop, but that is also not calibrated. I can only assume that it is your monitor profile that is causing the oversaturation. Jill
-
I don't use Lightroom, but maybe you have that set to Adobe RGB? This has a wider Gamut than sRGB, so may make your images look more saturated. PTE could be handling that being set to your Monitor Profile. But if you have saved from Lightroom in sRGB then I am not sure. I always use sRGB throughout, in camera, in Photoshop (when I use it) and in PTE. My monitors are just as they arrived, never have calibrated them. I find that my AV's always look as expected, on my monitor and on different projectors when shown at various clubs & festivals. Also over Zoom they look as expected. If you do a lot of printing then maybe you do need to calibrate, but I don't print so have never found the need for it. Is it easy to switch the Monitor calibration off just to check? Jill
-
A Are you using a different colour space for your images other than sRGB? PTE can handle other colour spaces but the Windows viewers may not. Check the Settings/Preferences/System Tab in PTE to see what it is set to. Jill
-
what program are you using to play the MP4? Could that be altering the colour. If you bring the MP4 back into PTE does the colour look correct? Jill
-
Thanks, this will be a great new feature Jill
-
Yes you can. PTE is upwards compatible. If it was made in a very early version, then best to open in PTE8 first, then in the latest version 10.5 or 11 Beta. Earlier versions can still be downloaded from the website https://www.wnsoft.com/en/pte-av-studio/old-versions/ Jill

I notice in Barry's video that the built in Displacement Maps show X-Waves and Y-Waves In Beta 5 we only have Waves? Will the X & Y be in the next beta?? Jill
-
you can always use the 'Action on Mouse Click - go to Slide' If you make it a hidden button - zero opacity - say down in a corner, then during your talk just click it & it will go to whatever slide you want Jill
