  1. the number is determined on the Slide position within the Slide List. So if you export Slide 20 it will be called Slide20 You can change the prefix to something else but the number is fixed Jill
  2. Agree with this, it would be very helpful if the Slide could stay in the same position when switching Full Slide Duration - Turn OFF in Settings/Preferences/Project If you already have some slides with Full Duration on then you can turn them off in Slide Options/Main I always Move/Add/Delete Slides in Slide View & use Timeline View for adjusting Transitions & Slide Duration by looking at the waveform and matching to that. As you have found clicking on the dividing line between 2 slides just adjust the duration of that & the previous Slide. Clicking on the centre of a Slide adjusts that Slide & all those to the Right of it I never use Slide Styles for this very reason, also every combination of 2 Slides is Unique so I would never want the same thing twice. Settings/Preferences/Toolbars - select & position exactly what you want to show & where Hopefully video editing will be a lot easier in PTE 12 Place your Playhead where you want it & look at the Time under the mini preview window - make a note of it Then drag the next Slide left & look at the Time displayed at the far left next to Time Points - set it to the same value Agree this would be useful to have a list of the changes made Jill
  3. If you are working on a show & want to update an image, click on the image & press CTRL+W - first make sure that you have set Photoshop as your graphical editor in settings/preferences/system Make the changes in PS & save it. Then when back in PTE click onto another image & then click back on the one just edited & the changes should show. If you have closed PTE and then edited the image, the changes should show when you next open PTE All the above assumes that you have saved the changes in PS to the same filename. It is good practice to never work on original files, but always do a Save As first with a new name. PTE does not make any alterations to the images whatever you do in it, but obviously changes in PS will alter the image. Jill
  4. If you add an Oscillation Modifier of 100 to the Opacity it will switch off & on the transparency. You will have to work out how many repeats depending on the overall duration of the Slide to get 1ms However at that speed it will be very disturbing to watch. Jill
  5. Click the keyframe so it turns darker Blue, then Right Click & choose Clone. You can then drag it to the position you want. Jill
  6. In settings/Preferences/Project you can tick the 'save a copy of the project in a .bak file (in PTE11) This does at least give you the option to go back to the previous change. I never use the Autosave option for the reasons you state & prefer to do a Save As with a new name (increment) every so often. With your suggestion you could end up with an awful lot of copies & not know which changes had been applied to each Jill
  7. I didn't know this worked. But there are arrow keys at the top right in O&A it quickly advance or go back through the images. If you show Thumbnails in the Filelist, do you see the images? Or do they all show black? Jill
  8. I've not had any problems opening older shows as far as I can remember, but it's not something I do that often. Also most of mine are set up as Templates, so I just open them from the Template list within PTE. Maybe Igor will pick this up tomorrow & come up with an answer. To be honest I never look at 'Main Object' or to see which images are highlighted in the FileList, so I wouldn't notice if there was a problem. Jill
  9. you can download all the earlier PTE versions from the website https://www.wnsoft.com/en/pte-av-studio/old-versions/ They will all run side by side. Jill
  10. Gary, if this is a very old show, it was most likely made with an early version of PTE before we had 'Main Image' numbers From what I remember Igor said to open old shows in PTE8 first, save it, then open in a later version. This may explain the problems you are finding. Jill
  11. is there a right-click option to 'view in explorer' This would make it easier to find the image & then drag & drop into PTE. Most of us tend to have a dedicated folder for each PTE project & keep all of the associated files within that. But I understand this is not the way you work. I also tend to keep my original images in dedicated Folders & sub-folders, but I don't have that many so it is easy to find them. Anything that is specific to the project I keep within a folder for that project. Jill
  12. just save as with a new name & then delete the original if you no longer need it Jill
  13. If it will be possible to add Stroke to PTE, then could we have Bevel as well please. Personally I don't feel that the work involved & the extra weight it would add to the program, that a Spell Check is worthwhile. It is so easy to just copy the Text & paste it into say Word to perform checks. This is what I do if I have a lot of Text on screen (which is not often) Jill
  14. sounds like it. I think Mark has a Blue Yeti so maybe ask him, but he is Mac so it may work differently. Jill
  15. There is no need to delete the files in their original location, that is up to you & how you manage your space. If you use a different program to create a show, then you will have to manage those files manually. You could still create a Folder within the main Templates Folder for them to keep everything together, but PTE will not pick it up. Jill
  16. I agree that we need VU meters as suggested. But a work around rather than having to use additional software to mix, it is possible to just open say Audacity and watch the VU meters in that while playing in PTE. Maybe not as accurate, but better than nothing & unless it is a really complicated soundtrack it saves having to do the sound outside of PTE. Jill
  17. Check your Windows Sound Settings - Right Click the Volume indicator in the bottom Right of the Taskbar & check the settings Jill
  18. Yes, but PTE does it automatically. Set up the main location in Preferences first. Then within PTE open a show & select File/Templates/Create Template from this show. It only takes a couple of Seconds to do. Open each show in turn & create a Template from it. You will see the list of Templates within PTE & it is then easy to open a show from there. I only create the Template for finished shows. For Work in Progress I keep using the existing Folders I have moved all my Templates to another computer in one go and as long as you tell PTE in Preferences where the main Folder is located, it will find all your shows. I can then easily copy a new .PT folder into the main folder on a different computer & PTE will pick it up. It is also very useful for backup of all your shows Rather than moving the Template Folder to another drive, I would move your original folders off if you need space. If you did change the Drive then you would need to update Preferences to show the new Drive. I have been using PTE for around 20 years & usually make a Template for each show once it is complete. It keeps everything in one place. I then copy the published exe or MP4 file into the .PT Folder so I can easily locate them as well. Jill
  19. Create a Template from your Project. This stores all of the used files, images/video/sounds in a .PT Folder. By having a group Folder for alll of your Projects and storing each .PT Folder within that, they are all in one place. They are also all accessible from within PTE See File/Templates and Settings/Preferences/Templates Jill
  20. I always thought the 'Undo All Changes' was for everything you have done since the last Save Command, not just on that Slide in O&A. You learn something new all the time Autosave will save every so many minutes regardless of which window you are in SoCu you can save at any point in O&A by pressing Ctrl+S & in the main window. Jill
  21. turn off Auto Save in Settings/Preferences/Project & then all changes are only saved when you save them manually. Jill
  22. put the play head at the point you want to split. Right click the audio & select Split. I agree that it would be quicker if we had a short cut key Jill
  23. It's not something I have ever done, I have only copied folders & files to another computer and that usually gives me the missing files message as the drive letter is usually different. Jill
  24. try renaming the original Folder to something else temporarily & see if you then get the 'Missing File' Jill
  25. did you get 'missing File' message for the images? If so simply locate the first one missing & it should automatically find all the rest if they are in the same folder. Jill
