  1. I have been interested in an answer to this query and the http://www.barcin.net/forum/ suggested does not appear to be up and running. Is it possible, does anyone know how we can save our PTE file to a DVD and have it play automatically? bbdigital
  2. Dlesko Using batch files is all explained on an easy to follow PTE tutorial CD both in written form and on screen video here http://www.barrybeckham.co.uk/tutorials/tu...v/startercd.htm Hope that helps bbdigital
  3. This is a great sequence of images of old Liverpool and a good choice of music too. It all seemed to flow nicely. Nice one Tom bbdigital
  4. gourmetphoto There is a Pics2exe tutorial CD available here http://www.barrybeckham.co.uk/tutorials/tu...udio_visual.htm that will take you through what you need to know and it doesn't cost a bundle either. bbdigital
  5. Iceberg I can recall sitting in our lounge with 2 Kodak Caroursel projectors and a Kodak Dissolve unit and a hand control slider putting together sequences, been there done that, but make a mistake and it was back to the start, so PTE has the the lead there by a mile. It would be really good if we could perhaps right click a transition point on the time line in pte and just have one value box come up to adjust the transition time. Look forward to seeing your AV's................. Back in the DDBD (dark days before digital) there was some real god awful slide shows doing the rounds, poor photography, poor technique, I can even recall seeing one where mould was growing inside the glass slide mounts. No chance of that with PTE either bbdigital
  6. What is a WMA file? bbdigital
  7. Iceberg Are you going to post some AV's to show us what you mean with regard to fast and slow dissolves? If the music demands it, then I think that is a fair comment, but if it doesn't a fast fade just looks odd in my view, especially to generally slow music like Dvorak. Check my balloons AV, I think that is more like what you mean. www.bbdigital.co.uk
  8. This pte forum prompted me to try and create an Invision board on my own web site, what a palava, but I managed in the end. I don't wish to tread on the toes of the PTE forum, but perhaps develope mine for those that have questions regarding digital imaging with Photoshop and Photoshop elements being the core subjects. So, if you would like to take a look just go to my main page at www.bbdigital.co.uk and click the super little movie that BJC made for me. bbdigital.
  9. imageartz It is not worth the risk of using music you have do not have the right to use. If you are making money from this venture you should compensate someone else for their music. You wouldn't give your wedding photographs away would you. Try here http://www.trackline.com/ a site that I was put onto and for under £30 you can buy all your wedding music. www.bbdigital.co.uk
  10. Jim I have posted it on my own site and created a link here. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/barry.beckham...ual/balloon.exe This is a second attempt at a jigsaw AV following comments received on this forum. I knew my first was a bit slow, so I have tried to address that and think this is better, but perhaps I am not the best judge. It is based on a clearer image and there are more pieces, but I hope it works better because it runs much more in tune with the music. Barry
  11. I have tried a few times to upload AV's to Beechbrook, is there a 2 sequence limit because I can't get anything else posted apart from the original 2 shows. I zipped the show and send a small thumb too, any ideas? Barry
  12. I think is it reasonable to pay something for music for AV shows and I don't really expect to get anything good for free. What I want to locate is reasonably priced music that I can scroll through to slect something appropriate and then buy the music and the rights to use that music for gain if I want to. Maureen, I can't seem to get onto that music sight today either. Thanks for the link and I will keep trying Barry
  13. Al Oh well done that man, the space bar is perfect, why didn't I think of that. Barry
  14. Bill Thanks for the music suggestions but where do I get it from and is it royalty free. I can't use it on a Magazine cover CD if it is not copyright free. www.bbdigital.co.uk
  15. I sent some of my AV shows to the Editor of Digital Photo magazine in the UK and he is interested in featuring PTE in a future magazine with an AV example on the cover CD along with a movie tutorial of the techniques involved. I think this subject could run over a few issues if he is up for that. I will be working on something to present as soon as I can, but of course royalty free music is now a vital ingrediant. I know one or two forum members have suggested sources, but some I have listened to don't exactly inspire me that much. Either that or they are very expensive. Any more ideas will be gratefully recieved as I am trying to avoid hours of trolling around the WWW. The Editor was also talking about including a trial version of PTE on the CD and I guess at some stage he would need to contact the guys at PTE, but if this comes off and I have no reason to think it won't, it might do PTE a bit of good. Can't do any harm to have the software on a national UK magazine cover CD Watch this space. www.bbdigital.co.uk
  16. Help please I would love to have a key stroke to insert a new transition on the time line. I tried lots of key combinations, but didn't find one. I also searched through the updates of past versions, but either missed it or there isn't one. Can any of you that have been using the program for a while tell me if there is one and what keys to use. It would be nice if it could be the space bar. I would also like to be able to rename my slides while in the PTE screen both individually and as a group. Alternatively how does one get this information to the PTE team for consideration in future upgrades. www.bbdigital.co.uk
  17. Michelle Plenty of good advice been given here. I am sure you have a good reason for wanting a long slide sequence, but unless it is essential consider separate smaller ones. Even then you may still need to edit music or join a piece of music, but smaller 3-5 minutes slide shows seem to go down much better with the viewer. www.bbdigital.co.uk
  18. I seem to have found the problem myself this morning while drinking coffee before work and tinkering. However, Al was right. The time line needed a tweak, but ran OK in the timeline player mode. I needed to extend the gap between slides in the time line or PTE appeared to get confused. For the technical bit I am using a 2.7 chip PC, 1.5 gig of ram, latest PTE version and loads of slides. (not counted them yet) and one piece of music about 4 mins. Anyway I am getting more experienced with the time line now. What I have been working on is a much better jigsaw AV (well thats the plan) One where although only one image is used it does not become tedious or slow. I suppose you guys will have to tell me if I have succeeded and I will post it as soon as I have finished it. I would like to thank all the quick replies to my problem, what a team! www.bbdigital.co.uk
  19. Can anyone help with this. I am putting together a complex AV using the time line and all works well when viewed in that mode. However, save the finished file and one or two fades do not work well at all and there is a jump (the best I can describe it) Does anyone recognise that and know where I am going wrong? Thanks www.bbdigital.co.uk
  20. I have now completed putting together a movie tutorial on the subject of a Jigsaw AV using Photoshop or Elements and of course PTE. It is high resolution at 1024*768 with CD quality sound. Anyone interested can find it on my site here http://www.barrybeckham.co.uk/tutorials/tu...gsaw/jigsaw.htm The final AV is downloadable as is a sample of the movie. If you have any comments on what I have offered I am always open to suggestions. bbdigital
  21. Jim Funny you should put a link to ePHOTOzine, where do you think he got that idea from. I wrote a tutorial for him a year or so ago on this subject and as far as I know it may still be on his web site. bbdigital
  22. Ray. I have two Video tutorial CD's that not only cover Photoshop exclusively, but volumes 3 and 4 deals just with the presentation of images. They cover a simple white or black border to far more creative varieties. Try this link so you can see what they contain. http://www.barrybeckham.co.uk/tutorials/tu...hotoshop_7.html Regards bbdigital
  23. Bill There is no magic for the jigsaw puzzle effect, just a lot of hard work in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. I am currently working on a high resolution video tutorial of the jigsaw puzzle AV, but it looks like needing 2 CD's. I have kept the size at 1024*768 and a super sound quality and the avi files are huge. The tut covers all of the Photoshop work in depth and putting the show together in PTE. If it works out alright I hope to interest a few people enough to pay a few quid for it. www.bbdigital.co.uk
  24. As far as I am aware the best way is via an external sound editor, trouble is they are often far more expensive than PTE. Of course the benefits are that you can mix music and sound effects and blend music together when you want it longer and when I did this years ago with a 4 track tape deck, that cost an arm and a leg. www.bbdigital.co.uk Barry
  25. I have put up some sequences on the Beechbrook cottage site and you are welcome to take a look at the other images and stuff that is on my web site at www.bbdigital.co.uk Barry
