  1. Hi Freggle, Welcome to this very friendly and helpful forum. You'll find that whatever question you ask here, whether it's on timing or transitions or in the case of my example above how to execute a particular movement you'll get all the help you need, given freely and with courtesy. Whether you like a particular movement/effect is of-course your own choice, but you may wish to consider that the OP asks their question, based on the need to understand how to achieve a particular set of effects/movements etc. The advice given is based on that and not on our personal likes and dislikes. It really wouldnt do if we got the answer, "I'm not helping 'cause I dont like it" would it? There are a wealth of facilities in P2E and I'm sort of the low guy in the food chain around here, so I ask many and varied questions, in an effort to understand them. I notice in your intro your also new to P2E, so may I again welcome you to the best forum for AV and look forward to seeing your own presentatins in due course. Andrew
  2. Your right Eric. So I've started a 'ledger' and also I'm keeping the examples as templates. Andrew
  3. Peter, Eric and Linn, This is exactly what I have been trying to achieve. More bl**dy bells and whistles I'm afraid, but it works. Thank you Gentlemen. Andrew
  4. Just a few wee comments: Outstanding - Beautiful and perfect. Andrew
  5. Thanks peter. Yes thats exactly it. I'll note all the details before I play with it. I'll also have a look at that transition you mention, sounds kida cool. Thanks again. Andrew
  6. Thats it Peter. Now how did you do that [Gonna have to disect the example]. Thanks Peter. I couldnt figure that out at all. Andrew
  7. Hi guys, If I could describe it better. 3 images one behind the other as seperate layers. then the images behind the first come from behind the first and come to the front, changing positions.Sort of like shuffling a pack of cards. I'm begining to think it cant be done. Yes Eric something along those lines. Only from directly behind. Its just something I tried yesterday and wondered about. Andrew
  8. Is it possible to have say 3 slide one behind the other and during the time allowed have the slide at the back [or in the middle] come to the front, by actual movement and not opacity. I've tried this all day and cant get it. Any help? Andrew
  9. I notice the border size tool does not retain/remember the last value set, but defaults back to a different value after use. Can it be altered to remember/retain the last value set to aid workflow. Andrew
  10. Hi Dick, Sorry for the late reply. I sort of solved it by creating an independent BG at full size for each slide I want to have a different colour BG. Then on each slide I set the BG colour to match the BG slide.A bit of a hit and miss but it seems to work. Thanks for the help, I'm still learning rectangles! Andrew.
  11. Yes, I did understand that Peter, and agree wholeheartedly. Andrew
  12. Hi Mark, so many things now to consider, but a better understanding now to help. This discussion has opened my eyes a bit. I guess I got carried away with my 'masterpiece' and didnt stop to consider the impact such a show might have. There were a lot of elderly members in that audience! What you doing still up at 01:30am? Andrew
  13. OK, I got that. Keep the colours in their own 'complimentry groups. Thanks Guys.
  14. WOW. Thats gonna take some learning!!!
  15. I'm slowly getting round all the various parts of P2E and have come to frames. I was wondering when [in what circumstance] you would use them, and for what? Any quick explination? Andrew
  16. Thanks Gayland. I need all the encouragement I can get. Andrew
  17. My monitor defaults to 1920x1080. I set the image size and BG size to that. What would be the result if I size them at 1920x 1200? Would they go off the end of my screen.? Gonna have to try it now Thanks Bill. Andrew
  18. Thanks Jeff. I done that simply to keep the show from being to 'static' I will experiment with other methods and variations. Thank you for the encouragement. Andrew
  19. The font is called fairydust. I really like it. Thank you for the kind comments. Andrew
  20. Lin, I changed the motion to smooth for both the rectangle and the text. It does seem to move better. I think that should be the default. Thank you. Andrew
  21. Thank you Ken and Lin, I can remember playing with the motion thing Lin, and cant remember why I didnt change it back. Where are my notes Andrew
  22. This is a trial run using all the elements I have learned over the past week. 99% of the work was done in P2E. I have used Rectangles, with text as a child thereof. 3D effects, and Keyframes with motion. So a lot of new things learned. PC Version here: http://www.mediafire.com/?30nyxtoxowt Mac Version Here: http://www.mediafire.com/?bymmiijez2n Image size: 1920 x 1080 BG size 1920 x 1080 14.8 meg 28 slides 2m:45s Soundtrack: Freeplaymusic.com All images are freely available for copyright free use from magazine distributed discs. Hope you see something you like. Andrew [Crawling my way up the learning curve]
  23. Ed, These are points I never even considered before I put my show up. Perhaps I should have. It's funny you mention the position in the set, 'cause mine was #4 on the list when we handed in, and they didnt show it till #12 of 13. After the interval. I wonder if they like you had thought it out, and perhaps I'm being unkind. However, as you say shows like mine must still have a place no matter how upsetting. Perhaps tho as you point out not in a competition. It just never occurred to me. I find it amazing the things I learn here, and I thought at my age I had a good grasp of life and its trials. Andrew
  24. Peter, I think I have it. I made a dedicated slide with a sound file for it and used 'Customise slide' to get it to wait for a mouse click. I must pay more attention to those menu's. Then I added a blank, then the sequence with a sound file embedded in the first [or 3rd] slide and set it to play all the way thro. That seems to have solved the problem. Now when I start the show, I have to click 'Play' before it moves on to the 'show' proper. Sorted. You guys know so much its scary.
  25. Fancy me finding a 'glitch' Never mind. I'll live with it. Thanks Peter. Andrew
