Got it now Jill, using the O&A. I had to then extend the music track to get to the end in the timeline but its doing what I wanted. Once again many thanks and to the others who answered. Raymond H SOLVED

Guys, I am not really concerned about the audio as I found as Jill suggested separating the sound works. However no matter what I try reducing the speed either at publication or at conversion stage the video comes out at the same length. The full 20 minute finished video takes hours to publish which I have to wait for to see the result.
-
The friend who I made the video for remarked that they appeared to be going faster on the motorcycles than they actually were I tried to reduce the speed but it didn't seem to make any difference and I lost the sound. Jill's advice solved that but I must admit that I had given no thought to the length of the original music track and that may be where the problem is, I will try again and report.

Separating the sound track seems to have worked . However it hasn't slowed the video noticeably I am expecting too much?

Using version 10.5.9. I created a 20 min video using clips and added a music track for a friend. Works fine. Conversion and publish speed was 100. He thinks it appeared too fast. The images come from a helmet camera on a motorcycle road trip. I republished at a speed of 60 but there is no sound track when it completes. I did a 10sec preview which had sound but the completed video is silent. Am I missing something when I slow down the speed?

Thanks for the replies. I now think that the Yeti is designed for use with plugged in headphones or speakers. It becomes the default payback once plugged in. I have plugged my external speakers into the yeti and all works well. Just a pity it is extra work when working in PTE. So I think we can mark this as Solved. Thanks again

My playback is normally through an LG sound bar. Once the Yeti is plugged in the sound bar is cut off and the Yeti becomes the default. playback is then through Speakers i.e. headphones or speakers plugged into Yeti headphone jack plug. I am convinced that is my problem.
-
I have windows. All setting seem OK. Rechecked sound tabs and what happens when Yeti is plugged in is the Yeti is the default mic but in playback the speakers change to Yeti Classic Default Device . I just realised that the sound is in the Yeti connected headphones. I'm new to this Yeti maybe it has to be used with headphones or separate speakers.

SOLVED: I can record directly into PTE audio but I have to unplug my USB microphone to hear play back. (Blue Yeti mike if that matters) Is there a setting to recognise the playback?

Such a pity to miss the Giants Causeway

The track was as CBR. I think that we have identified that the problem lies somewhere in making the sound track in Audition. I think we have taken this as far as we can so thanks to those who gave suggestions and we can close this. If anything comes to light relevant to PTE I will post it. Thank you

AS suggested by Barry another audio track was tried and appeared to work normally. Any ideas what might be the cause.
-
Igor, I suspect they may be using an earlier version perhaps 9. but I will pass your suggestion on, Thanks

I've forwarded that suggestion and will post when I hear result.

I eventually removed PTE from the computer and reinstalled. Problem has gone. There must have been a corruption on first download. Thank you for responses and we can now close.

Normally I will open a project file from the project folder. Or if I open the AV Studio from the desktop the last save project will open as expected. Recently neither happens. In either case a blank project 1 file opens but does not respond. I have to close it down and on second attempt a Project 1 file opens but responds when closed with do not save third attempt from my project folder and my saved project opens as normal on a double click. It may be coincidence that his seems to have started since latest update download

Yes checked or unchecked makes no difference.

A friend is working on a project and asked me for help . Having recorded his soundtrack in Audition he transferred it to his project file and commenced to fine adjust his slide positions. What happens is that when he moves a slide and then plays the soundtrack plays from a different position. If he plays the sequence on the timeline from the start it will play correctly until another slide is moved and he must return to play the whole way through. The Soundtrack and timeline should be independent of each other but this does not appear to be the case here. I have checked anything I can think of including that no slide has been linked to the soundtrack. I have discussed this at an AV meeting and noone else has ever experianced this. Ideas please.

Hello Igor Sorry I was in Dublin for the Irish AV International The driver is already up to date. I think I will live with it as no one else has ever experienced this it must be something in my own system causing it.

Different speakers same result. Published and played same result on desktop ,same file played ok on laptop. We can safely say it is something peculiar to my desktops both of them??? Remember when all we worried about was a slide getting jammed in the gate?

I'll try that later today and let you know

That seems to reinforce what I was saying and the Techy I was with today. There seems to be no uniformity with windows. I wonder is it connected to the LG sound bar I have connected because I find this also on a second older backup desktop. I will just live with it until something turns up maybe the next Windows update.

Hello Jill My levels tab varies from yours the Microphone and line in are muted and I have a centre and sub woofer both on. What I don't have is an enhancements tab which makes me suspect the driver. My driver is version 6.0.1.7743 dated 16/02 2016. How does that compare to yours.

Hello All I have just retrieved my laptop from the repair shop where it was updated to windows 10. I have also watched the technician struggle to sort out the windows sound drivers, so little chance for me. I mentioned Denis's enhancement tab was missing from my desktop properties and he tells me it depends on which driver or even windows update is there. I ran my test file on the laptop and the problem does not seem to be there so I have come to the conclusion that something in my windows is causing the volume drop. So my thanks to those trying to help and I'm sorry for what appears to have been a waste of your time. Thank you all
