Hello Again I have attached the music file in question. When I tried it on PTE the wave form finishes at 2mins 48secs. but the music plays out to 2mins 58secs. In options it shows music length at 3mins 02secs. Also Barry it does not show end of music as in your screen shot. Snapcam

Barry, I am awaiting the results of your latest suggestions but the one thing That is reported is that having looked at your screen grab it appears that MUSIC END is missing?? Also to clarify, Waveform ends at 2m 48 secs which is correct as recorded but the actual sound continues for another 10 secs. Snapcam

I think we are getting hung up on a different subject. The person asking the question is experianced in A.V. production and is aware of the silence at the end of a sequence but trhis is not the cuse of the problem.

Update on problem. My discription is not quite accurate. When played with the waveform showing The waveform stops at 2min, 48secs. but the actual music continues to 2mins 58secs,

Thanks for the prompt replies I had suggested checking the last slide ending and was told that was not the problem. I will go back and get a moree accurate discription of the problem.

I ask this on behalf of a collegue as I have never had the experiance. A music file was downloaded into Audition as MP3 and edited. The saved MP3 file was saved and brought into PTE via add music. The file is 2mins 48secs long. When it is played showing the wave form it cuts of at 2mins 48secs but the waveform goes on another 10secs. Played without the waveform showing it plays out to 2mins 58secs. Strange or what, Any advice.

SCOTLAND - in the season of mists ....
snapcam replied to Lakelandlass's topic in Slideshows & AV Shows
The images in this show are truely stunning. I have longed to get to these locations in autumn but have only ever managed summertime, not quite the same you will agree.Your show has awakened my desire again. This is the first time I have seen your work and from the other comments I have obviously been missing something. -
I thought I would post this as tomorrow is Remembrance Sunday. This was originally a show in transperancies and was scanned then recreated in PTE. Image size is smaller than normally used. http://www.mediafire.com/?1d3dj55u5daxi9c Comments apprieciated

I may be teaching my Granny to suck eggs but re the subject of new project folders. I always create a new folder at the start of a project and add my images. The project images are drawn down from here. The music/sound track is added into the folder and again it is drawn into the project from there and the project file is then saved to the folder as and when you save it. All additional bits and pieces e.g. sound fxs can also be added . I will normally put a copy of the exe. file in to finish. This means I can lift the complete folder and load it into any computer loaded with PTE. and Hy-presto I work away as if at my own desk, no problems with missing image or sound files.

Thanks Guys for all the answers. I was trying to use the command on the time line and this was causing my problem. I was also a little confused by the discription on page 12 of the user's guide which seems to suggest more to it than just a black slide. Very handy now I know. saves creating a new one each time in photoshop. Thanks again

What is the purpose of the insert blank slide option. I find my command is grayed out and I have been unable to fine a way to try the option. Initially I was thinking blank/black slide which is obviously wrong.Help please.

Correct me if I'm wrong but are we confusing 'Royalty Free' with 'Copyright Free'. Surely royalty free music can still be copyrighted but one does not pay fees for its use i.e. ROYALTIES and that's different from copyright. Anyway, I'm of for the weekend to The RPS National A.V. Championships at Cirencester, looking forward to hearing Igor on Friday night, so BEHAVE yourselves and no fighting while I'm away. I'd hate to miss anything. Snapcam

Sorry Mark, try this version, http://www.mediafire.com/?f8nczao8dmftavn

Having started this debate it appears to me as it developed that there is a wide range of views on copyright not only with regard to my original query about copied images but also to the use of music. It is a constant question to me from folk taking up A.V. for the first time. I think that although its up to each individual how they interpret or observe the conventions and rules no, LAWS. The international range of contributors also make it dificult to come to a common view. However to assist those in the U.K. who wish to remain 'legal' regarding music I have posted a Power Point presentation on mediafire that explains the rules/law and may be of assistance to those who wish to use the information. http://www.mediafire.com/?f8z4hdntg0xtlhe Snapcam

Barry I have reread your feed back quote and if it is read as written the person is saying that while they understand that the example has 'Royalty Free' music it should be explained at some point that the use of copyrighted music can lead to consequences. So rather than being a 'Peter Perfect' they are making a reasonable point particularly for someone new to the game. Snapcam

Now, Now, Boys, lets all stay friends I started this thread not to pick at anyones work but to make a genuine enquiry. I DO enter festivals and do shows to local clubs and groups. As I said the position is fairly straightforward to a degree with reguard to copyright music, I buy an annual licence. That may make me 'Peter Perfect' but I don't fear a knock on the door from someone wanting to rifle my C.D. collection. My reason for the question was to enquire if there was a similar situation with reguard to images. Really enjoying the hornets nest by the way!. Snapcam

I have watched DavyC's 'Heaven and Hell' and I wonder were we stand with the use of 'Googled Images'as used by Davy or other archieve images used to portray something historic for instance. It appears to be clear with regard to music use BUT what about image use. Snapcam

I look forward to it! Snapcam

I have seen attempts at this sort of sequence using graphics etc before but they never seemed to 'pull it off'. This is the exception The theme was held throughout with good dissolves and pace. Really enjoyed seeing something different. With regard to using 'Googled Images' its only cheating if you claim them as your own. The finished article is what matters, still I'd love to see the reaction if it turned up at an A.V. Festival. Snapcam

Hi Gary Really enjoyed this show. You allow us to share in something personal. Although not involved directly our generation watched this worldwide and I suppose it was our first war. We were just starting our little show here at the time. I've seen the movies but nothing compares to a personal experiance like your's. You must cringe at Rambo! As regards comments I thought the age of the slides and the way you have presented it added to the whole atmosphere I would like to see a few slightly brighter as there appeared to be more detail available (a small point). Timewise I didn't realise the time passing could have been twice as long. Thanks Snapcam

Hello Gary You are quite right regarding photo technic, Oh, the memories of slides Not making excuses but the first images where taken early in the morning(we tend to loose our snow fairly quickly and the highlights were held back to retain some texture in the snow. But I do see your point. Regarding controls ,I pulled this from my list because of the file size. It would normally be used in club shows or festivals were no control is required (the rt. click is a surprise to me ). In future I will include control for any forum posts. Hope you enjoyed the show anyway. Snapcam

Hello Gary After I was cheeky enough to critique your work I thought I should step into the line of fire. I have posted this short sequence for comment. http://www.mediafire.com/?yyxmh7uncmtd46u Snapcam

Hello Ken The snow was 6inchs deep, they are only 5inchs tall. Snow not on your scale I suspect. Hope you enjoyed. Snapcam

I thought it was time to put my head above the parapet. This short sequence was made with some shots of last winter's snowin and around my garden. I don't mind comments (any) http://www.mediafire.com/?yyxmh7uncmtd46u Snapcam

Hello Andrew Beautiful photography,I liked the way you have controlled the highlights particularly in the pic with the chandelier with lit bulbs. Using 1600ISO were these hand held or tripod. Interesting presentation format. Snapcam
