  1. Thank you Xaver, I think you're right, but it seems a little bit curious for me (even if it was not very different in V6). Never mind, if Igor find it's what he wanted to do, it's not a problem for me (as you can see, I'm not familiar with this kind of working !). Regards Jean-Cyprien
  2. Hi Igor, I've un-installed PTE V7.02, re-downloaded the 7.02 software - re-installed it, close my computer, reopen it, and I've still the same problem (also with the V7.01 too) I just open PTE and try to put Blank slide with Alt+S (sorry, it's not Ctrl ! - But this is the same problem with Slide / Insert blank slide ) See what I have : Duration 4.0 s and then 1.5 1.5 1.5 1.5 1.5 ..... if the Project options are left by default. If "Transition effects" is disabled (in Project options), I cann't find any rules for the view durations (just 4.0 s for the first view)! If I try to delete a view with the "Delete" key , some view durations are modified (views being after the selected one, and the previous one) Please try again ? Thank you
  3. In the Timeline mode, if I select a view and want to delete it with the "Delete" key of the Keyboard, it doesn't work, and the duration of several views is completely modified.
  4. Thank you Igor. When I choose "Slides", I can put blank slides of 4s with Ctrl + S as before - OK When I choose "Timeline" it's now possible to do the same - Thank you Igor ! BUT there the slide' duration is only of 1.5 s (the "Time intervall for new slide" in Project options being still at 4.0 s) (only the first view put on a new project (opened with Timeline already chosen) is of 4.0 s)
  5. Hi Peter, Here is an explosion of a cube (very rapidly made) Under a parent frame (External) you make the animation with just the external pictures with only Show front side. Then you copy the External frame and paste it at the same level (here as a child of Cadre1) On the original frame (now UNDER the copy) you change the name for Internal, and you change the pictures for the internal pictures with only Show back side That's all Explosion.pt.zip
  6. Nothing bad in your AV, Peter, just good ideas ! A good idea too to remember us this important date. 50 years already !Our hair wasn't white at the time ! Thank you Peter ! Now, the same with a video of the shuttle launch ? !!!
  7. Hi Peter, Last year (Oct 2009 I think already !!!) when the new 6.0 version arrived, I've made a short example of what we'll be able to do with it. I don't remember if I had posted it here. But here you'll find it. Is it something like this that you want to do ? Best regards, Jean-Cyprien PS If you remember, I've already made an explosion of a dodecahedron with the 5.6 version !! (My Sorcerer Apprentice'exercices ) And if the "Show front/back" becomes a keypoint-able parameter, it could certainly be very interesting ! MonSoleil_15.zip
  8. Hi dear Peter, Sorry Peter, I've some difficulties to imagine what you want. Up to now, we need two keyframe to change the parameters, so what difference between opacity or front/back side ( if this parameter could be changed, which is not possible today)? Could you give us more details ? Best regards, Jean-Cyprien
  9. Hi Igor, 1 - Theorically, when opening projects made with 6.5, the new parameter Sharper/Smoother is put at -128 for the pectures where anti-shammering was OFF. It's OK for the pictures of the 0 level, but for all the children, great-children... the parameter is NOT put but at -128 but stays at 0 2 - The default value for this parameter will be 0. This means that all the pictures will be blurred by default. Do you think it is a good thing ???
  10. My question If I re-open "old" projects (made with V 6.57) I have the small views no more at the bottom (even if the project is not a very complex one. Sometimes, just the first 4 or 5 views ). If I want to use the preview button ("B") or the preview buttom from the currant slide ("C") PTE freezes. (but I've noted that a double-clic on the picture do now what these buttons did previously) Your answer I can't reproduce this problem. Does this happens for any project earlier saved in previous version 6.5.7? Could you please send me source files of a project where such problems occur? It happens for a lot of my projects, even if they are not very complex. See for example this tutorial T-Positionner-V2A.pt.zip
  11. Hi xahu34 and Peter, Sorry for not answering this question before. I had to change my videocard. It didn’t want to work anymore! I agree with you : it's not easy today to do what you want. But - I F there is not too much views ( but even with different durations and different effects of different duration – but not all effects), - and I F the view you want to animate across those different views has not too much keypoints, it is not really too difficult to do it - even with non linear speeds - without any difficult calculation : just to change the time of some keypoints, and just with subtractions. See my example. A cube moving across 6 views with different speeds of rotation for 3 Frames (Cadre1 Cadre5 and cadre CubeA4 ). 6 keypoint’times to change for 6 views. Of course, it’ll be much better if Igor have a look to do it easier ! SeveralViews.pt.zip

Thanks Igor, for all the improvments !
  13. I find the position of the button " X " (delete the view immedialtely) very dangerous, being far too close to the " Object and Animation" button.
  14. Woua ! You deserve a second cup of chocolate !!!! Not yet a button for this, in the new navigation bar ??
  15. A child'game with Excel, if you know Excel,of course.
  16. Nice pictures, Dom ! Beautiful ! Congratulations. Once the pictures are in place, there is a slight change in their dimensions, which is not in the continuity of the movement - generally growing a little bit, sometimes a slight shortening. Is it voluntary, and for what purpose ? And I find the box'colour too white ( too new !). (Just my idea of a treasure'box) But nice movments of the camera ! Bravo
  17. Hi Jan, Supposing each file is of 30ko and of 40ms of duration. If I put one file per view, every 40ms PTE has to load 30 ko during the duration of the view. (The loading has to be done in less than 40 ms). As I've said, PTE examine the two following views - not more, not less. If I put 60 files on a single view of 60x40ms that is 2400ms PTE has to load 60x30ko = 1800ms in less than 2400ms. I imagine it's not very different with the same loading rate. In this last case it's +/- easy to make animation, but not in the previous one. Perhaps the "dimension" (in pixel) is important (for the quality, certainly), but the main problem - I think - is the weight of the files (in ko) to be transfered and loaded in the memory (not considering the possible animation). If the movie is very short (some seconds...) I think heavy files could be "stored" in advance(if my memory is correct) Jan, I've send you a PM. Have a good day Jean-Cyprien
  18. Hi Jan PTE load the files for the two views that follow. If all the files are loaded when the next view is seen, there is no delay between the views. If not, there is a « pause » between the pictures – not for the sound. But PTE makes also (I think) calculation for the animation of these two following views, and the results of the calculations are loaded just at the beginning of the view and this is a other reason for a pause(for a more or less long time) between the views. If the files and the calculation are not to big – for your computer - there is no problem. For example, for my Christmas present http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12699 for the first movie made by the brothers Lumière, I've several ( 8 ) views of 2.4 seconds each with 60 pictures of 640x480pixels, 30+/-1 ko (each one of 40ms duration) > about 1800ko per view. With an animation at the beginning of the movie. To be done, the first view takes some time to put the 4 Keypoints for each picture but after that it's easy to replace the picture names with the aid of Excel for the following views. Several pictures per view, or one picture with several views... it's similar : PTE needs enough time to load the files, and this depends of your computer. Here you have a succession of pictures. Video is different. P.S.1 as your profession is doing 3D CAD design, I hope you'll find my AV a interesting one, P.S.2 do you know well the last song ? Jean-Cyprien
  19. Excellent news, Igor ! And curve of path !!! Super ! Thank you in advance.
  20. Hi John, You write "I suspect that every contributor to this thread is at the higher end of experience" I think you're right and then, "and I suspect not truly considering the novice." No. I don't agree. I'm considering the novice. If they use the "linear" motion, it'll be NO differnce for them. But if they want to use Smooth, for exemple, PTE'll work correctly, not with crazy results as today . Jean-Cyprien
  21. Hi Peter, today the user has only one default value ! Glued ! Not exactly in fact (if I'm right). The sections are glued for the non-linear options, but they ARE ALREADY SEPARATED for the linear option, even if this is not visible with the parameters. Do the following test : with the " + " do create two other KeyPoints from the first KP. The parameters are the same for each KP. Now change the parameters for the second KP OK ? The picture "goes" from the first to the second KP (a movement with Pan, or/and a zoom or/and a rotation ...)and RETURN to the first status for the third KP. This means the sections are separeted. Now, change to "Smooth" and NOTHING will move anymore ! This time, the sections are really glued. But don't you think it's crazy ??? What could think a newcomer of this ??? So, an option for glued or separated by default ? Why not ? It's a solution for everybody, but I can't think of exemples requiring always a glued options. By the way, I agree too, with Etienne and TheDom, and BootZilla when they say it'll be a nice thing if several keypoints could be taken together to move them along the timeline ! Jean-Cyprien
  22. Yes, PLEASE, let the sections be separated by default ! I've asked the question on the French Diapostif forum. Those who are using this speed values are always compelled to separate all the sections. Very rarely they keep them glued. For the newcomers, it's very disturbing. And so they put it aside and don't use it anymore. A great pity ! I agree a thousand times with you, TheDom ! I hope Igor will agree too, and change the default setting.
  23. It's all clear. Thnk you Lin, and Igor.
  24. I am very happy with the answer to my first question, but very disappointed for my second question. I'm afraid this could be more dangerous than really useful. But the 7.5 will do it so that is a good piece of news. Thank you Igor, and all your team.
  25. Questions : 1 - If I'm right, today in the O&A window of the actual versions, we have to put the zoom at 100% to see the picture with its original appearance (sharpness). With the default « auto » value, the picture is (generally if not always) resized and losses its sharpness . Will the unsharp mask be applied in the O&A window with the « auto » value or just at « 100% » ? 2 – I suppose the unsharp mask values will be specific for each view and not for all. Right ? (specific to different objects in the future ) Thank you.
