  1. Gary! Like Peter said make some small snippets of PTE ( 5-10 images) and save them as AVI but you will have to go into the AVI advance settings and there you will have to pick the correct compression sceem for the display to be able to play it. So the first thing you should do is try to figure out what type of AVI is OK for the display and go from there. The most common ones are Microsoft Video 1 - Intel Indeo Video 4.5 - Cinepack Codec by Radius - Divex 5.2.1 Codec and about 4 or 5 different MPG 4 I had lots of problem with my Epson 2000 viwer but eventually figured out the right compression to play PTE projects on it with very good quality. There is no reason why it should not work. Just make notes of what you are doing and put the codec as file name on each save, so when you test them you will not get lost.. Good luck Laszlo
  2. Hi Doug! You can place more than one image in a frame in Objects & Animation, also if you enable key control in the Project Options you can use the arrow keys to advance or go back frame by frame. Space bar is stop and go and this is on the finished EXE . You just have to give a short instruction with the project to your client. About the zoom? That I dont think you can do after the EXE has been produced. But again someone might have some idea on that. Regards Laszlo
  3. Actually Anthony my problem was simply ergonomical. Just the wrong way of using the Shift key and the left mouse button, but we ended up getting into it deeper and I got a lot out of it, like be able to open a door and see the perspedtive distortion ( narrowing the farthest point) while it is opening. Great. I have not even touched the ignore objects command since most of the objects ( windows, doors and shutters )in this project was within the top 3 layers so selecting was not a problem. Laszlo
  4. Thanks Ken! If you want to see the whole project I can send the link to your E-mail, but I dont't want to post it because of the models involved. This is a great Forum and because of that things fly around 60 miles/hour. Laszlo
  5. Lin and Peter you both are correct. The order that I was using the keys were wrong. Also I ignored the white square. Now all works well. Tested the windows opening and closing by moving the image center to the edge of the image and using the zoom tool and runs just right. I'm still attaching a file where the opening of the window is not aligned properly in the full open position and that was the reason for this exchange, to find a better way of doing it. By the time I got to the end of the project with whole lot of windows shutters and doors managed to set them up right, but this way is better of doing it and a lot faster. The Project save is in the PTE folder, and you have to rename the source ( USB stick or something like it ) to Drive "F" for pte to read it. http://rapidshare.com/files/317715668/AV-Sig_09_Window_3.rar.html Thanks a lot for all the help. Regards Laszlo
  6. Peter your observation was right. The program is not responding to the Shift - drag, repositioning of the center. It has nothing to do with the project. I have tried to duplicate Lin's AVI with an image, a plain JPEG ( not in any project ) just a simple image, but could not move the center off where it is. To cut down on any mix up of selection I just throw one image on the O&A window that's it. Laszlo
  7. Hi Lin! Thanks for the help, and I did sent you an E-mail 5 minutes ago with the address to the PTE ( Not the whole project) Laszlo
  8. Actually I was trying what you were saying Lin on the tutorial -Hold Shift Key and Drag- and Peter you confermed that also. But the darn thing will not move off center. What I was doing is creating windows and doors to open and close with no problem at all. Watching the tutorial I figured, Well if I move the center my turning axis will move as well, so my windows possibly be more realistic. But the point will not move. So my problem Lin is not the actual motion but the center point is not obeying command, the program is not responding to the move command. Hah. What could be the reason? Laszlo
  9. I was just watching ( I think Lin's AVI tutorial) on rotating and changing rotational axis by moving the point at the center of the image off center. The image on the AVI is a pair of boots. Now, I have tried all to move that point but no way that I could. I have V 5.6 and 6.0 on my computer and tried the both. Any ideas? I have extremely stable hands, large monitor and a whole lot of patiance. Laszlo
  10. I would first add colour ( maybe even a change of colour ) to the tiny white sqare button between the zoom adjusting windows in O&A. I keep on turning the little bugger on or off. Laszlo
  11. It works from Ottawa / Canada Laszlo
  12. Just a short note.

PTE is a great program and I and my students love to work with it.

    Best regards

  13. Thank's Igor and rest of the team! It is a great product for all people from the novice who want to do a very simple slideshow or the hardcore ones that take on every challenge on site and push the limits out into the stratosphere. My compliment on a job well done. Laszlo
  14. I guess I did Barry. A friend of mine send me the link on the laptop subject and since we have similar discussions over here as well I stuck my nose into it without going right to the beginning. Laszlo
  15. Barry Then you will have to take some very clean and crisp images for your PTE and resize them to 1024 or even 8-900 and see how will it run. See how the projected image looks at that resolution. It will definetly run smoother without the jerkiness. I would resize the lot, than swap the images with the originals, with the same filename PTE would not complain at all and see. With batch resize will take no time. You can always reverse the whole thing. Laszlo
  16. Barry! I got frustrated with my midiocre Toshiba and decided to bite the bullet. Got a costum built Laptop from EUROCOM and they build portable desktops ( actually they can put 3 HD in the unit )It is a rocket. JPD's project seamless on it, and my stuff with full resolution with WAV audio has no hick-up. Yes, power counts, but cost some $ . I was totaly fed up that my club can not project PTE's in the proper way, now I take my laptop to do it. There is no cheap way to get what you want. The cost? $ 3 1/2 grand Canadian. Laszlo
  17. Thanks a lot Lin! I will see how can I put things in proper order with you detailed explanation ( and a few four letter words as you said ). Of course it will take a number of approach before all falls in place. I will let you posted. Regards Laszlo
  18. I got it thanks. I thought there was supposed to be something else. The page needed to be refreshed. Laszlo
  19. Hi Brian! The only thing that I see in your note is the 3 thumbnails. No attachements, or I'm looking at the wrong place. Your approach is interesting and I will check out the program. Can you import its final product into PTE? That is what is in your first two lines? That would make things very interesting.. Laszlo
  20. This is GREAT Lin. I love to get myself dirty with complex things that most people runs away from. I will definitely try your approach. The template can be of a great help. PTE has lots of potential that most people have no idea about, just you have to push it a bit untill it gets out of the box ( like 360 rotation for example ), using pans and zooms in odd ways etc. Regards Laszlo
  21. Strange. I never had to install two licences. Back when Video builder came out I did come across the problem because I had a PTE download from Winsoft and I made an attempt to update from the open PTE program so you are running on 2 paths. I made and still do my update from the open program and have no problem. I think the machine and ID/ licence is being registered by the update system so you are a single client than. Laszlo
  22. Hi Ken! This was not the project with the jerkiness, This was done because of the fight of the swords, and it has taken a few exchanges with Lin to solve the transparency of the PNG files. ( I was trying to use them as mask and not as an object, so it was not working well). On the other hand I wonder why you had the hick up. It plays well even on my laptop? I do understand that multiple movements create multiple stress. Well we might at point figure things out, but than we create new problems. I'm glad the project worked since it made an impression for a statement. That is what it was suppose to do. This was a homework for my group and I do it as well. Laszlo
  23. Hi All! I have been trying to create a 360 rotation on vertical axis and having a great deal of difficulty. The project is a flower that turns to show all sides or the observer goes around and shows all sides. The first would have the background still the second would show the change of background. I had tried all I know. I have 25 Jpeg images taken of all sides around of a flower, the same images removed from the background and converted to PNG Still objects with zoom disconnected to create a quasi ( closing the image ) turn. --Not good Very choppy. Attempted to stack the PNG images each with different start point and trajectory to create a continuation of motion.--After the third PNG imported as objejt all would turn or close together. ( Mother-Baby relation ). The main image was set from 30 second up to 60 second to have space for the others. Any ideas? I have a group that I have given this as homework and I got stuck with it myself. Hah. Laszlo
  24. We are actually testing all kinds of equipment with this show. There is a small program that shuts off all Windows programs running in the background called END IT ALL and it is independent from Windows. I use this program instead Ctr-Alt-Del because it is a lot faster and more efficient ( but you will have to reboot your computer if you want to run it in a normal way ). You have to shot down your virus scan and might even pull the cable to avoid Ping from the Internet. See if it gets going. It is worth the effort. For computers? Ask gamers they are for quick efficient power and know video and graphocs cards that do the job. Laszlo
