This may help. Noise reduction and optimising audio in Audacity *N.B. Item 3 refers to adjusting the Filter Curve for specific tasks. My settings for that are to optimise MY voice. For music, you may just go for the default settings. 1. Select a wave-free section containing noise Effect > Noise reduction…> Get Noise Profile. Effect > Noise reduction…> OK 2. Effect > Compressor > Settings Threshold -18 dB Noise floor -40 dB Ratio 2:1 Attack Time 0.20 sec Release “ 1.0 sec 3.* Filter curve. 4. Effect > Limiter > Limit to -3.00 dB 5. Effect > Normalize

YES!!! I have tried it and it works well. It is such a relief as I thought the problems were my fault. Thank you, Igor.

Hi Dave, Thank you for your reply,I am on the Mac version. Beta 22. I was following Barry Beckham's tutorial. I have checked the Zoom percentage for the book cover and it is 37.5%. If I click on the 100% button the book cover goes to the right size. If I now change the Zoom units to pixels it becomes 2560 x 2880 px! This is my second attempt at this exercise. The problem became apparent when I introduced the first page of the book at 945 x 1050 (a little smaller than the covers.) As shown in Barry's video the page came in at the same size as the cover, and I selected "Original Size" from the 100% button to drop it down from 960 x 1080 px to its real size of 945 x 1050 and it dropped in size to 37.5 % just like the book cover shown here.

I have been trying to follow Barry Beckham's video tutorial on making a 3D book animation but have come across an anomalous relationship between the "Frame" size and the "Image size." My illustrations may be of help. When they both show the same height, i.e. 1080px, the page is much smaller than the frame.

Thanks, wideangle, one learns something every day!

To apply the effect to non-continuous slides in the slide view, click on the first one and Cmd click (Mac) or Ctrl click (Windows) on each of the slides you want to carry the effect.

Hi Rosemary, The page numbering in a printed book has page 1 and odd numbers as the right-hand page and the even numbered pages on the left. To make a book-style realistic, I do not think the first image should be on the reverse of the front cover. In the absence of a fly-leaf the first image should be on the first of the right-hand pages. Why have you done the page layouts in PTE? Surely it would be easier and more accurate to do that in Photoshop, then the images on the facing pages would match up and you would get a consistent gutter each side of the fold. If you were to rename your image files in a coherent way e.g. p2t and p2b for “page 2 top and page 2 bottom” or p1f for “page 1 full” it would be easier to see the structure. You seem to have stretched the width of the images to fit the aspect ratio, which has done the people shown no favours. Finally, At 7.000 sec into the show slide 2 appears and the page turn starts at the same time. Can you delay the start time of the page-turn animation?

I'm glad it all works. -
I have not used this technique so I don't know a precise answer. However, do the images in the correct pages have a thin border which shows as the line between the pages? If so, do the incorrect pages have images which lack a border? Where I've said "images" maybe that could be "frames." Maybe others with far more expertise would offer help if you could attach a zipped version of the PTE file so that they could take a closer look at all the details. I have just noticed that the page 1&2 line disappears as soon as the page turn animation starts. Sorry if this is no help at all!

For old scanners which are no longer supported, try Hamrick's VueScan, it works with a great number of scanners. You can run a trial version to see if it works for you. https://www.hamrick.com -
Thanks for sharing that splendid show. You have incorporated interesting blends and techniques which I will bear in mind.
