I support that suggestion. Jeff

A very good AV maker and friend of mine in this part of the world suggests changing pitch and changing speed of your own voice (with Audacity/Audition effects) to camoflauge your voice. I am trying this with an entry to Geoffrey Round next month. You can't turn a Scotsman into an Aussie but it might do the trick. We should not resort to 'bought' voices as AV should stay a hobby. I like the idea of a data bank. Maybe we should all record the same sentence like "Down with Labo..r" or suchlike. Jeff

But the sad thing is "...church was sold to a city of Lyon merchant and served as a quarry until 1813...". This means (to me) that the church was partially dismantled stone by stone to build other things, not the first time in history. Jeff

Well done, Mary. A question for the gurus and moderators - is it good practice/recommended to post links like this? Just asking because I can do it but 'everyone' else uses some or other special download site. Regards, Jeff

I have used both Goldwave and Audacity. For me, the advantage of Audacity is that the 'sound wave' can be magnified more and better with the latter. A consideration for the aged, like me. Regards, Jeff

Exactly what I meant but didn't say. regards, jeff

Well done, Andrew. You have mastered a lot of advanced features of PTE. I know it was just a learning experience and you wanted to experiment but I found the changing frame colours distracting (just a personal opinion and not a criticism!). It is also a good idea to get into the habit of Hide Mouse Cursor During Show. Regards, Jeff

Your english is good! My French is non-existent now although I loved living in Montpellier for some months in 1971. Jeff

Daniel, It is magnificent. Thank you for sharing. I especially like your idea of 3D motion for portrait-format inserts, your choice of transitions and music and the clear black spaces between your sections. I am mystified about the lady disappearing downstairs - I was expecting a visit to the dungeons or crypt but it never came. Regards, Jeff

Hello the dom, You have a PM from me, please. Best wishes, Jeff

I did look through the window and have been watching Skynews - that was why I commented as I did. Upington 37C yesterday and 32C bright sunshine where we are. Regards, Jeff

Give us a few outdoor shots

I guess everyone knows http://www.typhoonsoftware.com/index.htm . I use it to package multiple slideshows with pdf's and images fairly securely into a single executable. Works like a charm. Jeff

Well done, Colin. I spent my honeymoon in the Royal in 1969! Jeff

Maureen, Well done. You made the most of the weather! For the perfectionists, please hide the mouse cursor next time (Project options, Advanced). Regards, Jeff

Hi Lin, Don't change a thing! Its great. I will definitely check out the ratings but, as usual, there is a cascading effect - faster card needs bigger or second power supply - and so it goes on. Regards, Jeff Have fun in the snow. Here it is 30C most days.

Another great one Lin but more proof that I need an 8800GT. If I may risk being critical, I thought the waterfall went on a bit long but I am sure you had a reason. Subtle, I like it. Jeff

So much to do, so little time. I downloaded two at random. I enjoyed Cheverney very much. Marvellous aeroplanes was too much of the same things (in the hangar; on the grass). Anyone else with favourites? Jeff

I wonder whether it is helpful to compare an old (continually crashing) Win box with a spanking new Apple? Wouldn't a better question be: should I buy a spanking new (Carol built) Win box or an Apple? Compare apples with apples! Touch wood, I don't have crashing problems but then I am a few Win OS's behind the bleeding edge. Jeff

How much later? Please do it as soon as you can! Regards, Jeff -
Royal price too. You get what you pay for. Thanks for the update, Lin. Jeff

Thanks Peter, another good one. You also gloss over the multi-tool option. I am still in the dark. Intuitively, I think it should do what all the other tools do individually but I don't get it right. Regards, Jeff

Thanks Yachtsman for a useful contribution. I wish I knew the secret to using the * option (multi-tool) because I find switching between the time-shift tool and the selection tool the long way around. Surely, that is what multi-tool is for. Couldn't find anything helpful in the official manual. Regards, Jeff

Burroughs, Univac, NCR, Control Data Corporation and Honeywell. Must have been before your time or BS used IBM 360s. Regards, Jeff
