Thank you for sharing this with us. The photography is excellent and the image transitions and music worked wonderfully together. It certainly brightened a dull winter's day with the beautiful blossom and flower photographs. The information presentation is very well done too. Now all I need to do is to learn more French!

If I remember correctly, using a smaller image results in it being repeated in tile-style. OK if abstract but not for a "real picture".
-
Two ideas: 1. If your screen is black, you'll not see the shadow. Choose a light colour - Project Options - Screen - Background 2. If your image fills the full screen, you'll not see the shadow. Choose - Project Options - Screen - 90 % of the screen to show slide images.
-
Here's an easy way to accomplish this: 1. Save your image at the screen size you intend to use, e.g. 1024 x 768 pixels 2. In PTE, go to Project Options - Screen 3. Select the radio button at the bottom left - "Tiled Image" 4. Use the browse option displayed immediately under this to find and select your image. That's it.

Jim - I reckon you deserve this week's Sherlock Holmes award for effective detective operations.

If this is simply to do some "beta testing", post the link here & I'll certainly give it a try.

Ralph has actually described my preferred way of working. The technique I described earlier is easier to do but this way is much sexier.
-
First make a black image (perhaps adding a logo or whatever) using an image editor such as photoshop. In PTE, choose "Project options" then the "Main" tab. Tick "Show startup window". Click on "Customise Startup Window" and find your black slide. Decide whether to "Show Help Button". That's it. When your show runs, you'll get a black screen until you choose to move on. Well, that's how I'd do it anyway, but maybe someone else has an alternative approach...

In a word, no. You need to do this using audio editing software. Audacity will do the job and it's free! Look here: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/windows.php?lang=en

You'll find some very helpful advice here: http://www.digital-av.co.uk/ Have a look!

Nice idea - well realised. Thanks for sharing.

One solution to the music issue is to use software such as Audacity to join the two MP3 files into a single track for the show. As for the second issue, try opening multiple sessions of PTE - one for each show - and then proceed as normal. Don't close the PTEs until all is complete.

Well said Maureen and Granot. Now let's got on with making the shows.

I don't think anyone was actually suggesting using screen capture to "rip off" another person's images. In my case, I'm not convinced that a 1024 x 768 pixel compressed JPG from any of my shows is going to be much use anyway.
-
Simply this - if writing a tutorial, I would include screen shots of the dialogue boxes that appear. Being able to capture small areas of the screen is useful for this, and more convenient than using Print Screen.
-
Well, for one thing, you might wish to include images of particular areas of the screen (perhaps in a tutorial). I use Techsmith's Snagit for just this task. It's excellent but by no means free.

I should like to reiterate my appreciation of the work that has gone in to producing such an excellent resource. Like Al's spreadsheet, it is a utility that I will keep and use as and when I feel the need. If other users don't have a use for this, then that's OK. PTE is a wonderful tool as it is and this community is an excellent vehicle for sharing ideas, expressing appreciation, constructive criticism and hearing about new developments.

Me too - excellent stuff.

"Symphonie" is a wonderfully evocative presentation of Autumn. The photographs are lovely and the show combines them well with the chosen music. Bravo! Thank you for your contribution to this Forum and for posting links to your presentations. I, for one, find them stimulating and encouraging.

Ah - I see. Yes, I knew about this but thought perhaps I'd missed something.

"By the way, are you using the 'PTE Synchronisation Mode' prior to burning your CD ?" I don't know about Jeannie, but I'm not sure what you mean...
-
I've just spent some time experimenting with this tool & am very impressed! Like Igor, I'm full of admiration for the way you have implemented the Help section so well . Thank you for all your work developing this tool and for making it available to members of the PTE community. I'm sure all will find it of immense value.

Maybe there's a lesson for me too - can we have "Create as" as a life option then I can be master of my own actions too. (There always seems to be someone else in control).
