Barry, you may be just an old retired transport manager, but you manage to transport us into wondrous kingdoms with your shows.
-
Barry - short and very sweet. I liked it; I liked the build up; I liked the music which added very much to the overall effect. Overall excellent and an inspiration. Wish I had your talent. David P

Well done, Igor. Hopefully, this will solve accessibility problems, Many thanks. David P

Hi Mark, I wonder if you might consider NOT using a transition between the end of a colour section and the start of a b/w section. The first b/w image should pop up when the music changes. I think this would make more of the contrast between colour and b/w. You could start to fade out the last colour slide first if you wanted. I think the transitions to colour at the end of the b/w sections would be OK to keep. Just as a general observation, slow transitions between slides seem to be very popular, but not always necessary, especially when trying to match slides with the beat of the music accompanying them. To that end, it is useful to have music at 120bmp or 60 bmp as they coincide with the seconds of the time line and thus much easier to align. Sorry if everybody already knows this. Hi George, Great stuff. Lovely photos, lots of variety. Liked the transition slides. Thank you for sharing. David P

Davy, Thanks for the explanation. I am more inclined to go for 120 or 90 or even 60 bmp these days for PTE as they line up with seconds in the PTE timeline rather better. Maybe, though, that's not a problem for you? There is the possibility of slowing down the 140 bpm tracks to 120 bmp, but slowing tracks down can sometimes result in audio distortion. It is very pleasing to know that you like my music enough to want to make use of it. I'm rather flattered I must say. Thank you. David

Your welcome, Davy. Please excuse my ignorance but I don't quite understand, or, to put it another way, "Eh"? David P

Hi Davy, Lovely to see another of your Google collections; most enjoyable. I liked the soundtrack a lot. Well done, keep up the good work. David P

Hi Gilio, Glad you like DigiDaub5. Your show was excellent, with many very intriguing images. I liked the music, too, which was appropriate for the subject matter and pace of the show. Excellent David P www.ambiflow.co.uk/DigiDaub

Hi Mark, I liked the alternation of colour and b/w photos, and using the music to emphasise the change was an excellent idea, although I found the music just a little monotonous and too soulful. I'm not qualified to comment really on the photography (its much better than mine, though), but I too found the b/w photos very pleasing (as I did in your previous mono show). I liked the textural quality which, in that respect, I think mono can often outdo colour. Having said that, there were some good colour textures, too. All in all, excellent. Thank you. More like this, please, as and when. David P

Thanks Mark and Davy. Any help I can give is yours for the asking. Use any of the tracks as you wish. As I have been very busy with DigiDaub, and I still have a spin-off to finish, I have been neglecting the music, but I hope to add some more tracks in the not too distant future. One of the reason's why I became interested in PTE was to add images to my music. Haven't actually done much of that as yet. There's still time. David P

Davy, Ah, I'll give you any help that I can, but I don't look for ambient tracks, I mix or even create my own. You are welcome to use any of mine, though. There are quite a few on http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=497334. David P

Being a 'cool ambient' fan most of the time, I think it would work very well, but it's not everybody's cup of tea. David P

I have found some, what I can only call 'strange' posts, recently on this forum, and can't understand what it's about. I am sorry to say there are also some posters who appear to favour their own ideas very strongly, and seem to disapprove if an AV doesn't meet their self-imposed standards. I think that all three, so far, contributors to this thread have important points to make, and have made them clearly, concisely and tactfully. Food for thought, indeed. It is also good to see how those people who have a second (or more) attempt at producing a show improve their presentation, obviously benefiting from the helpful comments they receive. Yes, this is a good forum; let's not spoil it. David P

Hi Davy, Very cool, very relaxing, nice speed, nice length, top marks. Thank you. David P

Well done Colin, the remake is such a great improvement and has some 'zing' about it with the variations in animation, the grouping of photos, the change from one style of slide to another, making the show really lively and most enjoyable, giving the viewer a better 'flavour' of the area and its wild life. Now, I only wish I could take photos like yours. David P

I have found the same. Very frustrating, especially when it interrupts your work-flow. David P

Hello Bert, I am sorry that you find DigiDaub5 too complicated. I have added a few features which build on earlier versions and which don't have to be used. Basically you can use this version in the same way that you used previous versions. Remember, there is a one-click auto mode which does everything for you. There are also 'improvements' to some of the old routines, plus some bug fixes. But, of course, there is no way you are obliged to use DigiDaub, and millions of people don't. I made DigiDaub to please myself; some people like using it, and I like the idea of sharing it. Best wishes, David P

I have prepared a slide show to celebrate the launch of a reasonably stable version of DigiDaub5. The demo comes in two versions: 1. The usual flowing slide show. Download: Variations 7.56 MB Not quite 3 mins long. 2. An annotated version with hints on how the images were made, for the curious. The show is under user control using the arrow keys. Download: Variations anotated. 5 MB For more information, example images, gallery and program download please visit the DigiDaub site. David P

Hi Colin, You have some stunning photographs... but I felt that the show would have been better with some of them edited out or grouped on one slide. Because of the nature of the country there were quite a few similar pictures, and some groups of pictures of the same scene/animals where perhaps the animals had moved a bit, or the photographer had moved a bit. I'm afraid that the impression I got was that it was a bit 'flat' and a tad too slow. This could just be my low attention span and others will probably disagree with my remarks. Cheers, David P

Version DigiDaub5.11 is now available. Please use the download link available on my DigiDaub blog. David P

Found a couple of other problems, and have removed a couple of Frames which were giving problems. Update10 can be downloaded here. If you are downloading DigiDaub5 for the first time, you will not need the update. Full and complete version here. David P www.ambiflow.co.uk/DigiDaub

Unfortunately on doing a late revision of a DigiDaub5 procedure I introduced a bug. Yuck! If you have downloaded DigiDaub5 already, just download the revised DigiDaub.exe file and replace the existing one with the new one. If you haven't downloaded DigiDaub5 yet, the DigiDaub.zip file has got the new version included. Here is the download link for the revised .exe file. Apologies, David P
