I though this was an excellent piece of work. I loved the slowly evolving scenes and the superimpositions which were so appropriate and helped tell the story. The music fitted very well, too. Many thanks for your inspiring work. David P

My wife and I spent a few hours in Bungay, a small town in Suffolk a couple of months ago. Here are some of the photographs we took. Direct link to Bungay show. PC only 36.5 MB 4 mins 28 secs Cheers, David P

Hi Mick, I have rather belatedly just up your reply. I am not in the least bit offended by your very helpful comments, and appreciate the ideas you have mentioned. I will certainly bear them in mind for the future. You are also too kind regarding my 'photography' as I do not consider myself as much of a photographer. I know there were a lot of pictures in the presentation, but I didn't want it to be too long. Yes, I could (should) have left some of them out. Being able to stop the show at any point is not much of an answer as the sound stops, too, rather spoiling the effect. I'm afraid that what you saw was the result of a rather too hurriedly put together project - I hope I have learned the lesson. Unless people make constructive comments, I would just continue in ignorance and never learn. Thank you for your help, David P

Thanks George and Ken. As my screen is definitely not wide, being 1280 by 1024, if I were to set the screen to a wide mode in PTE, would that work - and if so, what would be the best setting? I realise that I would see black bands at top and bottom - which I do, anyway, when viewing other wide screen presentations. David P

A basic slide show of photos taken at Great Yarmouth, many on the occasion of the Great Yarmouth Maritime festival. Some of the slides are a little blurred due to movement of the boat I was on when they were taken. About 4 mins long: 34.7 MB Download here Regards to all, David P

It's good to hear other people's opinions; thank you both. This slideshow was merely a demonstration of a facility available in AmbiDaub2 and I would use it sparingly in a 'serious' situation but might come in useful when used as a background to something else - text for example. I'm afraid I'm one of those people who rather like 'whacky' effects, both visual and auditory. Cheers, David P

Colin, Nice use of AmbiDaub. But then, I'm biased! Thank you. Liked the photography, lovely stuff. David P

My apologies, gentlemen - I managed to post the wrong link. Here is the correct link (I have also corrected the link in the original post). ...And there is (should be) sound, too. Link I think the mistake was in trying out 4shared - but I didn't like it so went back to MediaFire and didn't update my URL file. David P

Hello Mick, Thank you for taking an interest in AmbiDaub. You are very welcome to spread the word about the program wherever and whenever, thank you ... it doesn't half massage the ego! I would, however, prefer that download links spread in this way were to the MediaFilre site: http://www.mediafire.com/?iukuuhw3jhq0iup The reason for this is that my provider got very upset when someone once decided to download one of my files some 600 times! And I don't blame them. All the best, David

You are very welcome, RobertG, glad you are enjoying it. Regards, DavidP

This is a sort of demonstration of my new graphics program, AmbiDaub, which might be of interest to forum members. There is more information in the Software section of the Forum. The slidehsow can be downloaded here David P

Introducing AmbiDaub which has already been mentioned on this forum. Perhaps some PTE users might like to make use of it, or might just have fun with. AmbiDaub is an almost full-screen Windows graphics application with which you can create abstract-style textures, backgrounds, wallpaper or eye-candy. You can't actively draw or paint - just let the computer do it for you. There is little user interaction apart from selecting routines from the menus, with the possibility of placing some shapes etc in a particular part of the screen, plus the opportunity to mix your own colour sequences/gradients. There is a tremendous amount of randomness built in to AmbiDaub and the odds of ever being able to repeat a design are just about impossible. Serendipity is a big feature of AmbiDaub. The idea is for you to experiment with AmbiDaub and find out what each feature does. There is some very brief documentation to give a little help over the more obscure features, but the program is easy to use. Installing AmbiDaub Unzip the AmbiDaub16d.zip file into a new folder of your choice. Please make sure that all unzipped files are kept in the same folder. Download Link Cheers, David P

Hi Mick, Glad you liked the rail show(s). I was unable to find a free AVI to GIF converter that was satisfactory, so I bought Video UserPic from http://visifly.com/Video_UserPic/ It costs $29.95 which translates to a reasonable amount in sterling. I'm not too well off myself, but I thought this was good value for money and was easy to use. Cheers, David P
-
Thanks, Rick. I have been pleasantly surprised with what can be done with animated GIFS converted from AVI, although they tend to add lots of MegaBytes to a show. I was experimenting with the video function on my camera. Cheers, David

During my recent travels on the rails in East Anglia, UK, a steam gala was held at Sheringham in Norfolk, UK at which I took a few photos. Here is the result. David P

Thanks George - glad you liked it. David P

I spent a day or three travelling on trains in part of the East Anglia region of the UK, took a few photos and some video footage with my point and shoot camera, and made a slideshow. Its a bit of a wopper in size, due, I think, to the animated GIFS and some 15 sound files. A bit of an experiment for me. Download here. David P

It's a long time since I have been to Camden. It's now on my list of places to go. Thanks for the inspiration. Regards, David P

Hi Barry, I am extremely envious of both your technique and perhaps more importantly, your imagination. My vision is turning green! Regards, David P
