  1. That's strange. I put my show on Youtube and they are very quick on picking up on copyright music (although I have an MCPS license)but with Eric Clapton's piece - no adverts. I wonder if he released it copyright free?
  2. Probably not an A/V - no beginning, middle or end; probably not a Photo Harmony as I don't know if it harmonises with the music; so lets say a slideshow of photos taken in the Peak District and Wakehurst Place UK. Comments and advice as always are welcome. Website on the blink so its on Mediafire. PC Download Mac Download
  3. Hi Steven, You certainly are getting a grip on PTE's many functions and techniques and the moving cloud technique is very good indeed. Some of the things I did not like were 1) zooms a bit on the fast side and went from too close to too far away and they could have been spread more evenly throughout the show. 2) Too many similar photos where the horizon cut the image in two and some were not that interesting. 3)Too big a gap between the two pieces of music. Just my opinion of course and I am far from an expert (as you may like to see shortly in my show "Autumn Leaves")but I hope it helps and I you get a few more critiques.
  4. Hi Davy, Very spooky but, as usual, very well done - but I will not be keeping it, I like to sleep at night!
  5. No, re-boot did not work for me. I think Eric is plagiarizing my stuff - there is a bill on the way way for breach of copyright!! Seriously, I think this must be a Youtube problem with their sharing codes. It's way beyond me.
  6. How weird is this! Eric's second post with the embedded Youtube presentation has somehow turned itself into MY youtube presentation of Autumn Leaves. Is everyone getting this or is there something going wrong with my computer. If you are getting "Autumn Leaves" you might like to let me know what you think of it before I put it on mainstream.
  7. Hi Gerry, One's judgement on an A/V is sometimes dependant on the mood you are in. Having just polished off a bottle of Savingnon Blanc when I only meant to drink half of it, I may be a bit biased but I was totally captivated by it. The money shot was the lttle girl looking up (at her kite). Kevin's piece of music helped as I have used that piece a couple of times on my own stuff. There was some really clever work there and I look forward to seeing more.
  8. Patrick, that is one of the things I really like about your show - waterfalls that look like waterfalls and not ectoplasm. I think the silky smooth waterfall has been done to death and when did you ever see a waterfall that looks like that? And the rest of the show was very good indeed.
  9. Hi Eric, Your right, I did not read the last sentence in your preamble, just wanted to get on and see the show. The fact that I am the only one to respond to your excellent show points up the fact that this forum is not for people who make shows but for people interested in software and computers. I am looking around for an active Slideshow or A/V forum where constructive comments can help improvement but have not found one yet. I may be faced with joining a camera club with an active A/V section but then comments once a month is not ideal. Any ideas.
  10. Eric, that was just first class! Not sure how much of the original you used and how much input there was from you but it does not matter. I thoroughly enjoyed it - but you are not saying we have to wait another year for part two are you?
  11. Hi Andrew, Having seen some of your military shows before I thought this was by far the best. The photography was first class and I know it is not easy to get so many good shots under difficult circumstances. The show zipped along at a very nice pace and the music added to the experience. Perhaps a tad long for some of us non military types but I see you had the Nav Bar available - but I didn't use it.
  12. Well, I really enjoyed that. I can't comment about the competition possibilites as that is not my thing but I liked the pace of the show which matched the music very well. I liked the variation of the transitions and the way you used the portrait images. The photography was first class. I think you could look again at the pan/zoom of the crowd shot as this did not work for me and I think putting the exe file on mediafire will probably get rid of some of the jerkiness in the Youtube presentation. Good luck with the comp and there are many on this forum who can advise on that.
  13. Well, I have had another look at it and second time round I didn't think it too long at all (I just wanted to make a joke about UK weather). I was mesmerised by all the different textures in the photos and very intruiged as to how you took the shots. You have combined them very well and produced a very inivitive and different show.It is a shame that, to date, I am the only one who has commented. If someone spots an obscure technical point then replies abound but memebers seem to ingnore the purpose of the software - to produce A/V's.
  14. I liked both the show and the photography. Maybe it went on a lttle too long, a bit like the rain in the UK this summer
  15. Em, I think that shows an incredible amount of patience, at least to me it does.
  16. Hi Barry, Great photography as we have come to expect, but also great skill in producing an excellent show and most importantly good degree of patience. The skills can be learn but patience is another matter - how do you achieve that.
  17. Thanks Ken and Roger for confirming this is a scam. I had a confirmation from Mediafire that they are looking into it but I don't have a problem as Youtube demo in that it stops other programs working but it takes a bit of effort to delete it then everything is okay.
  18. Several times recently when I have downloaded PTE Exe files from Mediafire I have received the attached virus warning purporting to come from MSE. On clicking the "Clean Computer" button a second window (2nd attachment) comes up apparently asking me to download something. As I have MSE installed I became suspicious and didn't download. I then scanned with MSE and another program I have and they found nothing. Any comments or advice? 1st attacment removed on advice of Cornflow
  19. Hi Adrian, A very enjable show and one which does showcase your images very well. You certainly gave a good feel for the lively and attractive town which certaily looks worth visiting when in that region of France. Although a bit gimmicky I did like swan transitions (third image) and also the band members transitions both show a good use of Photoshop and PTE. I thought your general standard of photography to be very good and,for me, some of Patricks comments on your images were not that important and I had to view them with keyboard control to find them. I did think some of the early shots, being probably composed in 3:2 format suffered from being cropped to 16:9 but that format did work very well for most of the other shots. Zoom-ins can always be a bit un-tidy. I think I would have follwed the long shot of the castle with a close up (same photo would be fine), especially as there were no other pans of zooms in the show.
  20. Maureen, As you once said to me "if it's got sound and pictures then it's Audiol/Visual". Your subtle irony will be lost on Xaver.
  21. Totally agree with that but I'll have to stick to my photography.
  22. Well these wire frames are well beyond me and I'm not even going to try and understand how it's done but why are the wire straps infinitely thin so they disappear when when they come end on. Can't you make them have a circular cross section - is that another challenge?
  23. Hi Maureen, So many great shots in such a short visit to Siena, how do you do it? Just one shot with the tower chopped off could have been missed out but the shot of the Piazza with couples seated in the foreground was just classic. I noticed that you already used Eric's suggestion of portrait against blurred background later in the show but the earlier shot of the tower with side walls of buildings forming a portrait view was a great way of dealing with it. The music was just fine apart from the chop at the end and I noticed you have stopped using the border - any reason? A great inspiration.
  24. I'd better call it "The Last Cuckoo of Summer" then!
  25. Hi Jim, An excellent trip around Tallinn that gave a great flavour of this lovely town. Nice photography in what looked not great weather and a nice mix of shots. I did find the voiceover a little staccato however. The script, I think, could be a bit more conversational. It seems to have been written as though you were adding captions to the slides telling us what in many cases we could see anyway. What about adding a bit more on the history of the place and let our eyes see what is there. I hope this may be of help and look forward to your next port of call.
