Hi Eric, This one works really well in 16:9, as I know it is not always easy to convert when you have composed in a different aspect ratio. I guess flowers and trees are easier to crop than building. For my taste a little too many vertical pans although I understand the reason for them and some are a little on the quick side especially when starting. I am sure your fan club at the residents get- together will thoroughly enjoy this show.

Hi Lin, Thanks for explanation of your piece. As an English speaker but with aging ears and aging equipment I found it difficult to follow the words even second and third time around, so the story was lost on me too. However a great selection of pictures and I did spot most of the subtle animations and the music was good as well. Sometimes you don't need to understand the words, the voice just becomes another musical instrument.

Hi Maureen, Superb shot of the tree branches in water and a great effect with the moving clouds. Just two of the many things I would like to study closer. I see that The Dom has joined the cause. PM follows soon.

Hi Bill, I agree with all that is said above but as one who has opted for automatic feeds I think it would be a shame to lose it especially as not everyone who puts shows on your site also puts them on Wnsoft.

Hi Eric, Your very nice show only emphasizes our disappointment in not taking in Fountains Abbey last time we were in Yorkshire. It is definitly on the list for next time. As a novice in doing voice-overs, I hope you will not mind a comment. Although very interesting I found it difficult to take in a lot of the history you were commenting on. I would have preferred the pace of the commentary for the whole show to be like the first minute, with nice pauses between sentences and longer pauses between paragraphs to allow what has been said to sink in whilst watching two or three slides. I also thought a few of your early slides needed a little attention re exposure and straightness but I do appreciate the compromises to be made when converting to wide screen something you have composed in a different format. Good luck with the Hairy Bikers, I look forward to it.

I think that was an excellent A/V and I am very happy to think of it as an A/V rather than a Tutorial. Excellent bird photography involving far more patience than I could muster but maybe you have inspired me (when it gets a bit warmer).

I kept my eye out for those crappy pictures but didn't see any! Not only"family and friends" will recognise this as an excellent show. Just one point I would have liked to see was for you to fade in and out of the pans and zooms so you don't get the jerky start and finish especially with the fast pace of the show. Very enjoyable

Hi Dave, No - old 4x3 monitor. Played it on my Laptop and no moire. Never been particulaly aware of it before, maybe it was you very slow zooms that made it worse on my monitor but a good point to be aware of. I may upgade soon. mick

Hi Dave, Interesting Moire effects (intentional?)on the zooms added to the interest although I would have liked you to stop now and again in your walk and interspace the zooms with some stills. Superb photography.

A nice presentation if just a touch too long for me, the screeching children at the end got on my nerves. Can't see how you could have produced this in anything other than wide screen. Surely format has more to do with composition than the size of the screen you happen to have.

Animation - Am I asking the impossible?

Sorted it myself. The Rectangle I added started at a different size to Howards Rectangle. When I altered it to 1920 x 1080 it works perfectly. -

Hi Howard, I thought I would try to improve my skills by following your Box Lid Demo. I assumed the first job would be to place the Rectangle Frame over the box in the closed position and then place the boxlid image in that frame. Without looking at you numbers I failed, so decided to put all your numbers in and watch the result. However when I did that the frame was not the same size as yours. To show this I have added another Rectangle to your demo and put in all the same figures but everything is a different size, close but different. An explanation would stop me having sleepless nights. Hi Davy, Great shots that takes a good eye to spot and expert technique to reproduce - well done. The music was fine with me and worked well. With this type of A/V which is used as a platform to show off the photographs, I do not understand what is wrong with having KB control so we can really study the photos. If not this why such a short screen time 3-4 secs for most of the shots especially with the slow pace of the music? But thanks for sharing as I am trying to get more texture shots into my work and this is a useful inspiration.

I agree with Ray that it is nice to see something different and somebody using a bit of imaginations. For me it was a little to long for such a repetitive theme and I hated the music. A modern take on something Scottish might have been more appropriate.

Hi Geoff, You have made an excellent technical job of photograhing what you were after and have produced many interesting images. However, and I know I shall be alone in this, I hate slow shutter speed shots of streams and waterfalls etc. Rather than capturing the essence of the stream it puts me in mind of the stream being fed by hundreds of washing machines on "rinse cycle".

I can't agree with Ken on this one. I liked the fresh approach and would like to see more. Sound was okay on my cheap computer speakers.
-
My MSE does not block it but when I try to play a piece of music it does not play and if I try to download it takes me to "Page does not exist". not very good then.

Hi Moises, Excellent Venetian blinds but thought some of the models need a good few plates of steak and chips.
-
I have finished spending hours on Venetian blinds and this my final effort. The blinds are electo-magnetically controlled so no strings! My link

Hi Morasoft, A very good show with a good room set. Being a bit picky just a couple of points:- 1) the armchairs look a bit odd with their narrow sides 2) I should have mentioned this before but it is not correct to pull the blinds up with the slats vertical, it wears out the strings and can damage the slats plus they would not sit one behind the other. As you have already opened them why not pull them staight up? When I tried it,I did get a bit of shimmering effect as you have to alter the Rotate X for each slat as it goes up. My long term plan (it takes me ages to do these things) is to move to the window at an angle so you get the 3D effect of the backgound moving right to left of vice versa. I may get there some time.
-
Hi Peter, As a novice narrator (as mentioned by Ken),I thoroughly enjoyed your show. The comment above are all worth taking on board and I found the comments I got very useful. The art is to get the timing of the music, the photos and the narration all to harmonize. Not an easy thing to achieve and very time consuming. I look forward to seeing more of your work as we could do with more of this type on show on the Forum.

Well I can provide a Venetian Blind to fit your window and hopefully there is a good view outside (or Lin can provide some nubile females) and we can take a video of it. It would save an awful lot of trouble.
-
You're correct, assuming the young girls are keeping warm by being inside. When I started this I had an outside scene as the backgound and it has developed from there.
-
Very good Lin, hic! A technical point though - Venetian blinds fall down the opposite way in which they go up. The top slat revealing itself first, then the next, then the next. Oh! and another challenge - where's the ladder webbing? - it's what supports the slats.

I think I'm getting a reputation here - no more Chardoney!
