Comments on PicturesToExe Deluxe 7.0 Beta
David Porter replied to Igor's topic in General Discussion
Sorry if I have missed this previously but I have just downloaded beta 14 from Beta 10. with beta 10 if I make slide duration 7 secs and transition time 2 secs I get 2 in little box above the slide thumbnail and 7 in bottom right of the thumbnail - obviously. Doing same thing in beta 14 I get the 2 as before but in bottom right of the thumbnail I get 9 (7+2). Similarly for any other combination the bottom right box shows the addition of the slide duration plus the transition time. Is this meant and why? -
Hi Maureen, Sorry we missed Dent when we were up in the Dales but the next best thing is seeing it through your lens and A/V. Lovely photos as always and I will try and replicate when we get to your area next.

Gary, You must hate getting emails or, heaven forbid, texts! The main thing, Barry, is I understood it (too many coomas?).
-
Thanks Barry, that works better.

I agree with Davy, Barry at his best doing what he does best, beautiful seascapes. On my second viewing I noticed the outer picture frame as this did not show up well on my 5 x 4 black screen, not a problem but I will look again on my laptop. Thanks Barry for your continued inspiration.

Hi Mark, Managed to open it with my Hampster free zip program so no problem there. The photography was, as we have come to expect first class but it did take me three viewings before I could concentrate on the slides rather than the Mini (micro) zooms. I really do not see the point of them and find them distracting, see post on BB's recent effort. Barry calls it animation and I am aware that you get some shimmering effect by using it but to my mind your photography does not need this sort of gimmickery. Judging by other posts on his A/V I may be alone in my view, but I think the purpose of a pan or a zoom is to give a different emphasis on the photo with a different viewpoint. More down to earth, I did find the opening pan started very harshly and I did not think the Eagle(?) shot at the end worked but apart from these obsevations, the photography was great.

Hi John, First posting or not, that was a first class A/V, full of wit, imagination, technical ability and good photography. The music worked really well and it was a fun show. I look forward to seeing lots more.

What an amazing archive of WW2 photos and what a great job you have made in your “Tour de Force” of an A/V. It must have been very time consuming but I can tell it was a labour of love. I hope you have success in raising money for your charities. I did use the forward key a couple of times in the posters and the modern Leyburn sections but was glued to the rest. The music was well chosen, sympathetic and moving at times and the voiceovers were reproduced very well. I liked your pans and zooms especially as you used them sparingly and I thought they worked well for the particular shots. Well done and thanks for sharing.

Eric, I have just reached the interval but just had to break off to encourage everybody to download this A/V. I have a fast internet speed and downloaded it in just 2.5 mins, veiwing will take much longer but it will be worthwhile. I will offer more comments when I have seen the whole show.

As always, excellent photography and a good story line. However, I don't understand the need for all the mini pans and zooms as I don't see what they add to the show. It reminds me of what my smart phone does when I press "slideshow"

Hi Noel, Perhaps you should have put the title of you show in the subject box rather than"new version etc" but I can't talk as I only had one response to my latest show. Anyway I liked the way you presented the show with good use of PTE facities. Personaaly I found the portraits too harsh although I get the impression this is what you wanted to do. They certainly were eye catching and I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Great pictures of a really dificult subject - dark rocks and white snow, and well put together as an A/V. The music I found a little irritating towards the end but that is probably me. My wife and I have vague plans to take some pics from the top of a mountain but it will be Jungraujock and you can get there by trian (11500 ft - 3500mts).

Originally the family home of the Bankes family who owned much else in Dorset. Bequethed to the National Trust in 1961 probably in leiu of Inheritance Tax. Gold cast not intentional, maybe due to very low light and ISO up to 1600. Not allowed tripods or flash. N.T is a very large organisation and probably have publicity sorted. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Last year I did a series of shows on National Trust properties in the South and South-east of England. This one got put on the back burner and was forgotten. So to complete the series, here it is - nothing special about the A/V but the house was very special/ PC Download Mac Download

I'm off for a large brandy, I think I'll understand it better then!!!!

Stunning imagery with corresponding music. Get rid of the portrait overlays at the beginning and you have a masterpiece. An inspiration to us all.

A very moving and yet inspiring presentation. Well thought out and put together. Well done and thanks for sharing.

Hi Mark, Yes, I too was going to comment on the "Nothing Fancy" bit. Very subtle but very effective. It also brought back memories of our trip by car through the Canadian Rockies. Did you get to Spirit Island? I would love to see you take on that. Well done and thanks for sharing.

No problem with my download. If did not look like a very dull and damp day to me, the sun was shining thoughout! Actually it was on a few shots. Beautifully visualised and presented as always.
-
Excellent news, thanks Igor.

I belong to a photo club which is trying to promote A/V. As an intro to this we are suggesting downloading the trial version of PTE. This limits the number of slides to ten but am I correct that one can then add many other photos as Objects in Objects and Animations?

Hi Andrew, Another well put together and thought provoking show. I did like the way the video worked with the turning page. Well done.

My head aches!

Absolutely brilliantly made. Just managed to hold back the tears but had a few gulps. Thanks for sharing it Lin.

Hi Dave, Just downloaded it again and now all is okay. One of those things I guess and thanks Ken for the input. Loved the show, excellent pictures. I thought I might recognise the grounds as I guess you live fairly close to me in the Medway Towns.
