I don't understand why an abstract show involving shapes and colours should not be worthwhile and why David's program would not be a help in this.
-
David, I think your show was really fascinating and in the hands of someone really creative (not me!) offers endless possibilities. I'd love to see a similar show with perhaps a few more base images. I hope someone will pick up the challenge.

Hi Colin, Nice beach and sunset shots. I particularly liked your use of foreground objects to give depth to the scene. Made me think of my Turkish Gulet sailing holiday coming up next year.

Thanks Ken and George for the links. When I was working on Wing Area x coefficient of lift = All up weight, the figures were nothing like those for the Super Guppy, mind you that was 48 years ago but I still find it amazing that they can get so much lift from so (relatively) small wings.

Hi George, As an ex aeronuatical engineer, I wanted more time to see each shot - keyboard control is not the same. Also as an ex aeronautical engineer, I don't see how the Super Guppy ever got off the ground! Great shots.

George, Really quite amusing especially with the choice of music but good shots also. -
Hi David, Came back to this program after downloading AmbiDaub, sorry I missed it first time. The show gives a very good expostion of some of the things your program can do and I will definitely be using it but probably with real photos as in Colin's "Symmetry". Would you mind if I gave AmbiDaub a mention on one of my other web site photo clubs?
-
David, Found your program by viewig Colin's Symmetry A/V but what an amazing amount of other things is can do. Thanks very much for sharing it.
-
An excellent idea and extremely well executed. I'll have a go at it.

Hi Eric, Sorry missed your reply until now. You've given me food for thought with your offer, I may keep you to it. Thanks
-
Thanks Ken for your comments. On my first post, the music for the pop ups did not sync for some reason. I've put it right now so hope they will make a little more sense.

A bit of a departure in that the audio is the theme of this show and hopefully the pictures compliment it. If you don't like the pictures then just close your eyes and listen to the music. A bit long at 9.5 mins but I have edited 5.5 minutes out but only 29.5mb. Comments good or bad will be appreciated. PC download Mac Download

Hi Mark, I have a Toshiba CRT TV which gives a great picture. when it breaks down (if ever) I will get HD TV but I doubt it will increase my enjoyment of watching any particular show. Ditto with this show. I thought it was amazing and a little jaggerdy edge, when spotted, did not detract. When you think of the poor quality of one photo downsized to 64kb then "impressive" is an understatement.

Slovenia to Zagreb - New Show on Beechbrook

Hi Gary, Well I wont comment about the length of the show, I’ve been there before, but if you are going to make one that length even to show friends and relatives, I think you need to retain the interest by using some of the great facilities of PTE. Apart from the map this show could have been made with any free slideshow program. The transitions and dwell time seemed all the same, why not break it up and have a page turn when you arrive at a new town. Why not use some gentle zooms eg duck and duckings – gently zoom towards the ducklings and fade into your close up of the ducklings. Zoom out from, say, an individual in a Square to show the whole Square. A few slow pans perhaps with a zoom-out fading into a similar shot maybe from a different angle. Use different fades, I like ‘circle from centre’ and ‘page effect’ but push up the thickness of smoothing line to around 90%. The dwell time for these photos will need to increase, so yes, some editing will be needed to make some room or else the show will get even longer. Finally, you have some great photos there. Why not pick these out and do a show with just, say, 30 of the really best ones, not to show us where you have been but to show us what a good photographer you are. -
Thanks David, i'll have a look at it.

Not a steam buff myself but enjoyed your shows and the sound effects. You have tempted me to learn how to put video on to a PTE presentation and I have been experimenting with an .avi to gif converter in trial format but the Help files are useless. Can you recommend one that won't cost to much (or nothing!). Thanks

Hi, Mark, I would put it at the start, the excellent show will certainly grab the attention. Not wishing to decry your lecturing skills, there may be other distractions as the end of an hour and half, ie the loo or the bar.

Could not help but like all the lamb shots (even the one on the rotisserie)and the A/V in general. I didn't like the opening title zoom or the zoom to black at the end and not sure the captions were required but could have been more subtle. Good thinking on the War of the Worlds van and I liked the voice over (would you do one for me). I think the ending could have shown the "war van" in all its glory, ready for action.

Hi Colin, I agree with Patrick that the slide changes need to be slower, not only to keep time with the music but also so we can absorb your excellent photography. Love the music - this was my favourite song when I was around 11 years old (Jimmy Young I beleive, OMG!), whose version is this?
-
Hi George, I think this is much better but now you have automated it, what about some appropriate music?
-
A very nice momento of your visit. I liked your page turn effect but found the white border around the page and also the photo a bit distracting. As the border around the page didn't move when the page turned maybe you could do without that one, although I think I would prefer to do without the photo border and maybe have a drop shadow. Just a thought.

I tried doing a voice-over once but quickly binned it. What about approaching the local Amateur Dramatic Club?
-
An excellent show Barry, well up to your normal standard. Not sure about the voice-overs though. I was expecting to be diverted to one of your tutorials any minute.

What a great holiday you had, Gary and a great record for you to view in the coming years. Some great photos especially above the clouds and what photogenic towns. I must go there.

The story of an enchanting garden but also the "unusual" marriage of Vita Sackville-West to Harold Nicolson. I can highly recommend the BBCtv video noted at the end. Although it concentrates on one particlar area it inspires to reseach more of their very interesting lives as writers and poets, Harolds time as a Diplomat and Politician and of course the huge amount of work they put in to create the wonderful garden.
