Kent uk photo show part 2 1920 x 1080
David Porter replied to colin46's topic in Slideshows & AV Shows
Hi Colin, As a fellow Medway Towner, I was particularly pleased to view your shows as many of the views were very familiar to me and brought back lovely memories of my various visits. Only one sloping church jarred. Apart from that one I thought the photography was very good and I liked the slow transition used in the shows. Thanks for sharing. -
Kent uk photo show part 2 1920 x 1080

Had loads of trouble with RAR files so have probably deleted software so cannot open - shame. -
The Sweeps Festival consists of much music with live bands from all over and even more Morris Dance groups. Morris dancing is a typically English form of folk dancing accompanied by rhythmic music. I did this show a little while ago but couldn't get the slides to synchronise with the music very well but this later attempt should be better, I hope. Let me know if not. Video to start with and then stills. PC Link MAC Link

Hi Colin, Good to wake up to a good giggle, well done and thanks for posting.

Great show, Ray. Not a great lover of IR myself but works very well in this instance. Appreciate the imagination to think of the idea and to put it into effect.

Brilliant Macro insect shots. They always seem to win the open competitions at my photo club and I am sure most of these would as well.

Hi Roger, It is always great to see one of your A/V's if for nothing else then the quality of the photography and this one is no exception. Your A/V gets across the amount of time and skilful effort that went into the project and displays well the excellent end result. All the detail in the commentary is not really my thing and I did find the commentary a bit pacey at times with not enough breathing space between some sentences and some paragraphs although at other times it was just right. I am sure the jerkiness of some of the pans and zooms will not be evident on your final version but I did not like the final long zoom away as it looked to accelerate towards the end. You may well have used "Linear" but I do find this gives the impression of "accelerate" on long zooms although Igor explained mathematically it was correct. Possible you could use "slow down" so it looks right. good luck with the final version.

Hi Ray, Managed to hear it okay without bumping the volume but it was just a little indistinct so will good to see it next week. Lakeland does spoil you when taking pictures elsewhere - so much beauty in a relatively small area and very well captured on you A/V. Will go back there soon.

Windows 8 and PTE in vmWare Fusion
David Porter replied to Ronniebootwest's topic in General Discussion
From what I've seen on my sis-in-laws laptop I don't think I will upgrade. I think Igor has said he does not recommend W8 for PTE. Can't be any more help I'm afraid. -
Great photos and A/V show as usual Barry. I love that piece of music and used it on one of my shows. Vaughan Williams wrote quite a lot of music relevant to the sea, Sea Symphony being one.

Eric does eventually come round to new ideas but it usually takes 18 months, so a little while to go yet.

I think this refers to the colour outside the slide area when previewing a show that is not the same size or format as your monitor, not as I guess MUR was thinking the colour outside the slide area in O&A window.

Very impressive - I shall have start using my phone for photos.

Hi Don, Superb photography and a well put together show. Having served my apprenticeship with Handley Page and spent two years in their Test Deptment it certainly brought back memories of many trips to Farnborough.
-
Excellent. I think I would be spending the rest of my life trying to re-create these effects. Well done.
-
Thanks Gillio, have downloaded one as a test and will spend more time looking tomorrow.
-
Thanks Gilio. Nobody has mentioned a problem downloading but I know of one person who does although she has no problem with other downloads. Strange.

No apologies required as I would not pay 40 euro for two coffees in St Marks Sq. I might have paid 10 euro and so would an awful lot of other people and the cafes would have been full instead of being nearly empty.

Excellent and interesting images. Thought the end titles were a bit laboured (too long) otherwise a nice show.

One of the last things I did was to shorten the times of the Burano shots to keep in time with music and then had to add some slides to fill the space. I guess I clicked on the restaurant shot in error. Must do editing before the wine not after but thanks for pointing out.

It does not matter how many times you look through your work you always miss something - damn it. Your trip sounds very expensive with coffeee and cakes in St Marks Sq. the going rate for two coffees there is 40 euros. Please use the show however you want.

Three full days in Venice with excellent weather and no floods results in this slideshow. Hope you enjoy and comments always welcome. PC Download Mac Download These links download from my website store and for most PC users it is not a problem. If you have a problem I would like to hear from you gining your O.S and antivirus details. Thanks very much

Hi Jim, Excellent show and as I am going to Gruger in September it really whetted my apetite. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Ray, Just 12 mins 50 secs of brilliant photography that was just awe inspiring. As someone who has pretentions of being a landscape photographer I found that to be a masterclass. I hope I can get somewhere close on my upcoming trip to the Lake District it certainly has given me in ispiration.
