  1. True, but any comment is better than no comment and at least "great" will offer some encouragement to carry on.
  2. Colin, you really are a tease knowing what awful weather we have been having in the UK but I have to say I think this was the best show so far of your recent efforts. Great photography and well put together including the mini zooms and the zoom out from the sunset to the fisherman. I particularly liked all the evening shots especially with the excellent sky scenes. Slight moan in that your shows do not fill my 1920 x 1200 monitor and has black bars all around - uncheck "Fixed size of slide in pixels" in Project Options ?
  3. Hi Ray, Viewed your show three times now, hence delay in posting a reply. To be honest my first viewing was overshadowed by your choice of music and also the long sweeping pan at the start. The first piece of music i always associate with state funerals of royalty but I couldnot identify it. The second piece, Pavane, I have used a couple of times and I kept visualising my own work. Having identified the first piece and blocked out the second piece I now appreciate your excellent photography and especially your use of a long lens. I also thought some of the transitions were excellent, gradually bringing the scene to life, no doubt with some PS work as well. The colours were firs tclass and I guess you were lucky with the weather. A little long maybe but I appreciate these shows are also a personal momento of your visit. I am off to the Lakes later in the year and hope I can produce something comparable.
  4. Hi Colin, You do make me envious - all that blue sky and shimmering sea but when I look out of my window all I see is snow. When will it end? Nice shots and well put together. I did feel there were a few shots where the horizon cut the photo in half with the top half being plain blue sky although you have other shots where you have concentrated more on the foreground. But very enjoyable.
  5. Amazing stuff, Manuel. Did you say you did this over the weekend? Apart from my brain going into meltdown I would still be working on it next year.
  6. I do not see the point of cropping your beautifully composed 3:2 format images just to get it to fit the screen or have black bars top and bottom,I'd rather have that than have my images mutilated at the sides. If the competition is all important then compose the shots in 4:3, something I find very difficult to do when looking through a 3:2 viewfinder.
  7. Hi Derek, One of the great benefits you have in telling the continuing story of Sightsaves is the Indian people and the country, especially in the villages, are extremely photogenic a fact you exploit to the fullest. Your shows will surely benefit this charity and the work they are doing to help the 39 million blind people in this world. It seems to me such a shame that there has been so little response on this forum to the work you are doing but I know this will not deter you. Good luck.
  8. What a wonderful story you have told, without words just beautiful photography combined with great A/v skills and appropriate music. Just brilliant.
  9. Hi Colin, I particularly liked the composition of many of your building shots and the interesting angles you managed to find. Overall a good show and record of your visit. I agree with Eric about the video but don't think you need a one off video there, good quality or bad.
  10. Well that's as maybe but I am certainly not going to Grandma's cottage.
  11. Very pleasant, well very gruesome really but really well told.
  12. Hi Roger, A first class show which deserved to do well in the competition and also desevered the wider airing on Youtube. Youtube certainly is much better than it used to be and does not now seem to alter the aspect ratio but agree an PTE .exe file is still the best.
  13. As a trailer I thought the pans, zooms and exceptionally good 3-D effects worked really well. True, if overdone in the main show it could become wearysome and it is a shame that we cannot see it. I shall be looking at this again to ssek inspiration on how it is done.
  14. Not that I know too much about what you have been talking about but suggest you re-configure the computer or alter the way you have been using PTE. Maladroit clowns can still be very witty - at least I think so.
  15. For what it is worth, with computers I always assume that if something does not work then it will be my fault and not the computer and not the software. Starting from that point will usually sort it out. BTW, I enjoy clowns!
  16. WOW! My son and daughter-in-law are off to India in a couple of weeks, I hope they come back with a couple of shots up to this standard. Great show, thanks for sharing.
  17. Hi Ray, Even more moving the second time of viewing. Brilliant script.
  18. A really enjoyable show giving a good insight into life in India and that is the main point. Very good photography and choice of music, and for your first show you really have got to grips with PTE. Some points that I can pick out and these things are very much a matter of personal taste:- 1) Perhaps a little long 2) Too many zooms, some were for a good reason but others were not I thought 3)With the zooms, I like to fade them into the next slide before the movement has stopped. I think this gives a much smoother effect. Hopefully you will get some more constructive cooments and I look forward to seeing more of your stuff.
  19. Hi Barry, Very enjoyable. Some things change with advancing technology and fashion but good photography is permanant and shows through.
  20. Hi Eric, I downloaded your show before you deleted the link but when I first played it a series of error messages came up, nothing to do with you, but now I have found a way round it and have re-played your show and found it very entertaining. Isn't the Argentina Tango a very sexy dance? I don't think Lord Street is a very sexy place (you may know different!) but the juxtapositioning was all good fun. I liked the quick transitions and hope to produce something along those lines soon. Shame there were not more comments and suggestions but that seems to be the way the Forum is going at present.
  21. Hi Bill, I enjoyed your Bermuda show greatly and particularly liked your photos of the sea/shore/rocks some of which were excellent. I also liked the bevelling on the portrait shots but am not so sure on the black background. Certainly it brought light into a grey day in the UK. Thanks for sharing.
  22. Being in the curtain making business (proper ones) I think these curtains are excellent - could we have some fring on the vertical ones?
  23. As this weekend it is the Sports Personality of the Year programme on BBC tv, I thought it might be appropriate to resurrect a show I did shortly after the end of the Olympics but I don't think I put on here. The Nav bar is enabled so you can fast forward it if it gets boring but i hope you enjoy. On Mediafire on this link HERE
  24. My amazement at the tremndous skill, knowledge and patience to produce this wonderful show was overtaken by the story itself which slowly crept back into my memory. Very emotional with music to complement it perfectly. Thank you for producing it and sharing it.
