And once again a masterpiece! Silence.......... I can't find the right words to make my compliments strong enough. But I enjoyed every single second of this show. Everything matches. Natuurlijk stem ik ook voor één Nederlands.ini. Het is prettig om te zien dat grenzen vanzelf wegvallen. Nou kom ik oorspronkelijk uit Noord-Brabant, dus die zuidelijke inslag zit er toch al wel in Er viel me nog wel één ding op. Als je van taal wilt wisselen staat Nederlands niet in het rijtje onder Dutch, maar onder Netherlands. Dat is raar, want Netherlands is geen taal, hooguit een wat verbasterde versie van het land. Zou het niet gewoon onder Dutch moeten? Of als we het helemaal compleet willen doen Dutch - Flemish? Als Igor iemand credit wil geven voor de vertaling kunnen we misschien door het leven als Dutch-Flemish translating group? Mij maakt het niet uit. Ik heb sowieso niet het leeuwendeel van het werk gedaan, maar voor jullie beiden ligt het anders. Laat anders allebei jullie namen vermelden. Dat lijkt me wel net zo eerlijk. Niet uit hoffelijkheid of valse bescheidenheid je eigen aandeel wegpoetsen heren!

Je hebt gelijk, mijn vertaling is gesneuveld bij de Beta download... Ik heb het nu hersteld. Ik heb wel een vraag. Waarom gebruik je Hoofdafbeelding vervangen in het keuzemenu van de tijdlijn? In alle andere gevallen zeg je gewoon Afbeelding invoegen of Afbeelding verwijderen. Wat is het verschil? Zou Afbeelding vervangen niet duidelijker zijn? Onderstaande zin vind ik nergens terug. Ook niet in de Engelse ini, dus ik weet niet waar die thuis hoort. Goed werk. Ik hoop dat Igor deze vertaling bij de volgende (beta)versies gaat voegen.

Hallo Cor en Purist, Ik vind in de betaversie het gebruik van twee keer voorbeeld in het scherm van de tijdlijn verwarrend. Ik klik nog steeds per ongeluk op voorbeeld naast het pictogram van de slide in de hoop daarmee een preview op te starten. In vorige versies was dat nl. het geval. Nu zitten onder die knop meer functies die ik als Opties zou vertalen. Is het geen goed idee om van Button 8 in Sync window Opties te maken?

I am using this new translation already and find it much better to work with than the original translation. I think this translation is good for both, Belgium and Dutch users. Please make it the default translation

Hi Granot, Would it be possible with your utility to separate the show exactly on the slide you want? And would it be possible to leave it split up and still play the exe file? I have a show of my summer holiday which takes half an hour to watch. That is fine for the people who went with us, but far too long to watch for people who weren't there. I used several pieces of music put together and it would be nice if I could split up this show exactly at the point the music turns. Then if I would have several exe files left, I have a choice in showing parts of the original show. I know, I should have thought of this in the beginning, but I didn't realize so much people would want to see my holiday show

When I use Insert Slide (or with a rightclick from the menu) the slide is always put as the first one. Not before or after the selected slide on the timeline. Anyone noticed this too or am I doing something wrong? Ron?

Perhaps it has something to do with the image mode? 16 bit or 8 bit? Could be the settings of your scanner. Or your files are too big to load quickly in the preview mode. Are your settings in Paintshop the same as in Photoshop?

Wish I could translate as well as you do Al

I have worked very intense with this beta for the last couple of days because I am making a show which should be finished next week. There is a matter I don't understand. Or maybe it's not working like it should ... It's in the timeline. You can select several slides and when you rightclick there is an option set time of points. If I change the default 5000 in another number all my slides move but I don't see any order in it. And surely they don't move the amount of miliseconds I gave in. Can anyone explain that new function? I hoped it would change the transition time for a lot of slides in one time. Furthermore I got several times a warning when I tried to preview from out of the timeline. The message said the program wasn't able to write to the C:\temp. Then when I clicked this message away and saved my work, everything worked as it should. I am really very enthusiastic about this version because of the page curling effect. So using the old version is no longer an option.

I have also been playing with beta 4. I noticed a difference in the timeline. When you move a slide with the mouse, in earlier versions the time given in minutes and seconds changed on the fly. You could exactly see where to stop. In the new beta, the change is only to be seen when you stop moving. The numbers don't change with the movement. Anyone noticed this? I think it's a loss, because I use this a lot.

Hi, Couple of weeks ago I asked for your support to make an instruction on PTE in Dutch for our photography club. I must thank everybody for the help I got. I have finished the instruction. It turned out to be an instructive book of 42 pages with a cd which contains all the necessary software and lots of examples of shows downloaded from Beechbrook. I am filling three sessions of our club with this instruction! The book I made contains an awful lot of screenprints. I myself find it helpful in learning when I have things visible. The thing is: how do you easily make screenprints without having to edit every print in your photoediting program? How do you make a screenprint of only one part of the screen? The answer is Boxig! He has made this little utility ScreenCap which I cannot live without anymore. I advise everybody strongly to take a look at it. Thank you Granot!!!!

Hello Patrick, I watched your show and I was impressed by the music. Especially the first part. I hoped to get information on the last slide, but you seemed to have forgotten this I am always searching for this kind of dramatic music to use with my holiday sequences (mountaineering). Could you please give me the title of the music you used? The second part I recognized but the title doesn't want to come up in my memory. Must be the age I was also surprised by your use of 'no effect'. In my opinion this is sometimes useful, but using it too much gives the whole show a touch of hastyness. Why did you choose for it? Anyway, I think you succeeded in capturing the mood. I have never considered this kind of flying, but watching your show brings up a desire....

Hello Rebecca, Welcome to the forum! I don't know if I understand your problem. What do you mean by "not responding" ? Is this a message from PicturesToExe? Or maybe a general message from Windows? What kind of images did you use to create your show? They should be not too big (15-250kb) jpeg files. Furthermore it could be the musicfile. Is it an mp3 file? Did you move any of the pictures before trying to create the exe? They need to be in the same place you put them when you saved your project. How long is your show? What computer are you using? Does the preview work? Lots of questions, but we only can help if you give us a lot of information. Anyone any clue?

Hi Birding, What do you mean exactly by crashing? Does your computer freeze up? It is a rather long slideshow. I have made one with pictures of our holiday which has the same size. It runs perfectly, but whenever I run it I disable my screensaver and the energy saving of my monitor and hard disks. If I don't do this, one of them will take over at the time I set them. The first time this happened I didn't even realize what caused the interruption. So maybe this is the solution for you too?

I agree with Ian. It is hard to imagine what impact keeping the 4:3 proportions have. I would like to try it in combination with the pan and zoom effect in a future Beta version before giving an opinion. As for now, I haven't used the push effect yet, so I am not troubled by the black borders. But I would very much like to have a smooth pan effect and I can imagine the borders will be disturbing that effect.

Hi, I'm also think this isn't a good idea. I never use the fit to screen option because of the loss in quality you get when your pictures are enlarged. I spent a lot of time on creating images at the right size without losing too much sharpness, so I would hate to see them ruined shown in a resolution they aren't meant to be. I also saw a lot of shows from people who use this option on my big 22 inch screen. I can assure you the results are ugly On the matter of the black border, shows made for a screen of 1024x768 will never fit totally on a screen of 1260x1024. There will always be a border above and under the picture because the first uses a 4:3 proportion and the second a 5:4 proportion. So please let this option be! I do agree with the default transitions option. Most of us use the fade transition. Why not set this one as a default?

Hi, I am an active member of a Dutch photography club. Every fortnight we have a meeting. In next years program there are 3 meetings in which I have to give a tutorial on making a slideshow. Guess what software I am going to introduce? But now I wonder if anyone of you already done this. It doesn't need to be in Dutch, but it should be very helpful if I had an example of the method used in teaching. I want it to be very complete. So from starting with your pictures, preparing them with a photoeditor, converting the music to mp3, creating the slideshow and finally burn a cd. Of course I know the excellent tutorials of Al Robinson and Oleg. But these are electronical. I need it to be in the oldfashioned paperwork. Hope someone can help me with this....

Hoi, Ik vind geluidscurve ook een prima woord. Ik zag dat inderdaad ergens anders ook terugkomen en ik vond het wel een vondst. Langzaam maar zeker komt hier inderdaad een mooie vertaling uit!

Hoi, Ik heb even snel naar de vertaling gekeken en heb nog wat dingen gevonden die niet consequent zijn of misschien anders zouden kunnen/moeten. Ik heb niet de exacte plekken in het ini-bestand, maar waarschijnlijk vind je die zo wel terug. In het projectoptiesscherm: De presentatieopties zijn wat raar geformuleerd. Ik vind montage niet zo'n fraai woord, maar als je daarvoor kiest moet je in de tweede zin het woord presentatie ook aanpassen. Ik gebruik zelf altijd het woord show (of diashow). Dat is natuurlijk wel een Engels woord, dus misschien geef je daar de voorkeur niet aan. Presentatie vind ik dan beter. Dat geldt ook voor de andere plaatsen waar het woord montage wordt gebruikt. (bv. Naast de synchronisatieknop). Bij Instellen synchronisatie vindt ik de knop Voorvertonen niet fraai. Beter zou zijn Voorbeeld. Geluidsobject is ook zo'n woord wat niemand gebruikt. Bovendien maakt het niet duidelijk dat onder die knop de waveform te vinden is. Misschien Toon audio??????? Bij Geavanceerd staat Muiswiel deactiveren, maar ernaast staat F1 knop uitschakelen. Misschien beter Deactiveer Functietoets 1 In het scherm Navigatiebalk aanpassen is ook nog het een en ander aan Engelse woorden te vinden. Dit zal wel iets voor Igor zijn. Starten na laatste afbeelding is voor een beginner bepaald niet duidelijk. Ik kon ook niet direct een andere formulering vinden die binnen de ruimte past. Maar ik zou er dan in elk geval Start na laatste afbeelding van maken, hebben de Fransen ook gedaan zag ik. Afbeelding afdrukken met PrintScreen knop zou ik veranderen in via PrintScreen knop, dat is consequenter. Muziek: Het informatiescherm onder de knop Over Music Player is ook nog helemaal in het Engels..... In het grote venster onder Venster - Geavanceerde opties staat Scrollen met Muiswiel (X Mouse). Wat betekent X Mouse? Onder Taal zijn de talen niet vertaald. Is dat ook iets voor Igor? Het scherm onder Registreren zou ook wel een nieuwe vertaling kunnen gebruiken. Beeldscherm: Afbeelding passend (aanpassen aan het scherm) Zou ik tussen haakjes zetten (altijd volledig scherm). Is dat niet duidelijker? Opschrift... Kun je daar niet beter Venstertitel van maken? Het staat daar toch al niet logisch, kun je meteen zien waar het bij hoort. Bij Taal Info staat ook nog een keer Opschrift Achtergrondmotief, misschien beter Achtergrondafbeelding Effecten: Ik geef de voorkeur aan Klok i.p.v. Uurwerk. Dubbele sluiter vind ik niet duidelijk, maar ik heb ook geen alternatief. Geavanceerd vaageffect is volgens mij Geavanceerde Klok Harde overgang (cut) Zou ik vervangen in Geen Effect. Ik vind cut sowieso een raar woord in een Nederlandse vertaling. Het zijn maar wat ideeën, maar misschien kun je er wat mee

There are lots of programs you can use for making icons. Some of them are free, for example Irfanview which I use. You can make an icon out of practically any image you want, but you have to keep a few things in mind: PTE only works with pictures of 16x16 or 32x32 pixels. I use the last format. The picture must have a maximum of 256 colors, so it cannot be to detailed. You can resize the picture in Irfanview, then use the batchprocessing option to save it as a .ico file with limiting the colors. This file you need on your cd if you want an icon next to your drive letter. When I talk about the root of the cd I mean you must not make a folder and put the autorun in it. For example: Your show is called Jessica Lea.exe, your icon is called Jessica.ico and you have a autorun.inf. If you burn it like this on your cd everything is oké. All files are in the root. But if you make a folder called Show and you make a folder called Files, and then put the Jessica Lea.exe in the folder Show, and the autorun.inf in the folder Files, then you have a problem! Seems like a structured way of working, but I shouldn't advice it.
