My method is to save all my original *.tif images from camera in an annual folder. These images I convert to *.jpg using Irfanview in blocks as they occur and view them in PTE using a Manual Show template. I save them in another annual folder. (Manual Show can be found by doing a search on this forum}. Ron [uK]

It is not a glitch it is the way the programme is designed. It is best to clear the Effects selection by pressing the right hand button below Messages, before selecting your preferred setting. Ron [uK]

Can't find images! Did 'Template' lose them???

Having read this thread through to the "Eureka" I was about to suggest that you did a search for one of your images and taht would have located the various places for you and alerted you to your eventual find. I often use this method when I have saved a file ans it has mislocated. Something for the future. Ron [uK] -
Well I bet you were pleased with that sequence Phil. Your image scans were perfect. I liked the way you used a diffused image as a background to your vertical images. Thanks Ron [uK]

I found your sequence most enjoyable Geoff. The photography was excellent with the use of close-ups and differential focussing adding to the story. As regards the storyline I wondered if the vultures and hyenas should have been inserted after the kill, when the pride had been satisfied. I am usually wrong, so well done and thanks. Ron [uK]

Thanks Lin for that information. Ron [uK]

No problems with the presentation on my equipment but I go along with Geoff as regards the mosaic effect and the mouse arrow. I liked the introductory panel over which the viewer has control, so as to give sufficient time to read. This is where it was necessary to have the mouse arrow available but it could have been set to "Hide mouse after (say) 2 seconds". The actual images and the choice of music are excellent and soothing but the mosaic effect I thought brought a harshness to the presentation. My equipment Pentium 4, 1.4GHz, 1024Mb RAM Ron [uK]

Whilst I have used the methods employed, in producing "front ends" for my AV presentations, it has never occurred to me to use them in the way that Ken has shown. Obviously it needs a bit of careful planning before commitment, but it is something that I will give some thought too in the near future. Thank you Ken and thank you LumenLux for opening this thread. Experienced the same excellent results as Lumenlux. Thanks Ron [uK]

Thanks Keith for all that. I like your gallery. More power to your elbow - sorry about the pun. Ron [uK]

Sorry, I thought the problem was with the colour of the desktop when first opening PS not after selecting an image. At least I have learnt the keyboard short cuts from Dave. Glad you have solved your problem Roger. Ron [uK}

Well done Dave and thanks. I see that my suggestion may not be so silly after all, as the F key changes the screen mode. I hope that is the answer to Roger's problem. Ron [uK]
-
Roger This may be a silly suggestion for me to make, but are you in Full Screen Mode without the Menu Bar? Ron [uK]

Many photographers take loads of pictures which seldom see the light of day. Thanks to PTE these can now be compiled in a viewable sequence and thanks to Bill at Beechbrook those sequences can be seen by us all. Without them I would not have seen Mike's "Another World Vol 1" a truly magnificent piece of macro photography. Thanks Mike and roll on the further volumes. Ron [uK]

Time travelling is a wonderful thing. At first I thought they had introduced an extra Dateline. Good Luck Ron [uK]

Pictures to Exe Forums>How to create video. Read the sub-heading - "How to prepare video file in PicturesToExe and then burn DVD-Video or SVCD disc with help of special software." There have been 1493 topics and 321 replies. If I needed, that is where I would look to refresh my memory or do my research. Let us keep it all in one place. Ron [uK]

Geoff The pinned topic "How to create a video" is about the development of PTE, otherwise why did Igor create it in the first place, when he introduced the feature? Ron [uK]

I agree with you both but before this thread advances any further can it be transferred to its rightful heading "How to create a video" ? Ron UK

Dan You are so right. I have just checked the prices on line I have relied on family gifts for my stocks in recent months. Since my post of Feb 3 I have produced another SVCD using Roxio, just to keep my hand in. It played back OK on both my son's and my own TV but not on my neighbour's. Ron [uK]

A most enjoyable sequence. I thought the imagery was excellent throughout. I wondered if some slower fades could have been used in parts as the selection of music was beautifully tranquil. Also I think I would have omitted the last slide with a street light. The scenery suggests either the Yorkshire or Derbyshire dales - the River Wharfe perhaps. Don't keep us in suspense Geoff. The indications are that either the images and music or the *.pte file are no longer in their original positions which would be indicated by the file lines in the Error box. When producing a show your first action should be to create a specific folder into which you can copy and save everything you do for that production. Ron [uK]

Yes I am receiving your e-mails OK including the last one from which I was able to download "Hubble". As far as I can see there have been no additions to the Beechbrook site since I added the latest e-mail address to my Norton Allow. Ron [uK]

Ken I have just looked at the Beechbrook list of downloads but cannot find "Hubble" Ron [uK]

Well Joe you have received some useful advice and in particular the offer from Roger. You might also take a look at the thread started on 4 January this year "White border around buttons" and my reference to my "invisible buttons" produced in Photoshop and used in the PTE Object Editor. I projected 14 sequences entered by contestants in the South London AV Championships recently. The introduction consisted of a logo and credits accompanied by a fanfare and ending with a list of the sequences. Clicking on each name activated the sequence, as explained by Hawk. Ron [uK]

Take a look at my "IntroDemo" on the Beechbrook site. Is that what you mean? Ron [uK]
