For the record, I opened Gerard's web page fourteen months ago now and found it so useful that it is on my list of favourites so that I can refer to it quickly, whenever I wish. Thanks Gerard. Ron [uK]

I am using an Epson Perfection 3200 Photo for all my scanning from plain text, with OCR, to transparency or negative in various sizes and in high resolution. I had to replace my previous two scanners, flat bed and 35mm slide/negative, when I upgraded tp Windows XP and drivers were not immediately available. It is well worth checking out. 3200 is the Model No. in Europe. Ron [uK]

Merci Jacques I can and I will wait for 'Le secret de Cap de Quer' Ron [uK]

No doubt Michel will explain how he achieved the Third Image, but in the meantime have a look at my Third Image Demo which I uploaded to Beechbrook.com earlier in the year. It employs prepared images using layers in Photoshop. Ron [uK]

Thanks GĂ©rard for explaining about the text. This will now make my further viewing of the sequence even more enjoyable and help in my introduction when I show it to members of Sutton Camera Club AV Group ( I trust the author will have no objection). I look forward with great anticipation to the further version which you have forecast. Ron [uK]

Je ne comprends la (ou le) francais intro but what followed was truly delightful and I will play it back again and again. Thank you whoever the author may be. Merci, c'est tres bien. Ron [uK]

Thanks Ralph it confirms that it is my system which causes the flicker. At least one consolation is that anything I produce which does not flicker should be OK on other equipment. Ron [uK]
-
Cosmic, I agree with Ralph, your images and the way that you have dealt with them in whatever editing programme you are using (the paper curl suggests to me that it is Photoshop) and a sympathetic background has produced an excellent sequence. My only problem is that my equipment could not cope with the various changes of format thus causing a flicker. However, well done. Ron [uK]

Congratulations to Bill our host from Beechbrook.com In England 2004 he has captured some of the character and beauty of the counties of Devon and Cornwall in this our sceptred isle in springtime. I enjoyed every second of it. Thanks Bill and thank you for Beechbrook. Ron [uK]

Brian I confirm my interest in your Demo Show. My e-mail address is in my profile. Ron [uK]

RPS International AV Festival Cirencester 24-26 Se
ronwil replied to Peter S Coles's topic in Slideshows & AV Shows
Further to what Al has said "...the slide show was deemed to be degrading or detrimental in some way to the music selections or the artists involved ..." . At the RPS Festival I understood it to be said that it would be nice to have credits at the end of the sequences. But one of the conditions for using some copyright free music is that "The Buyer may not use the artist's name ----- ----- etc. in any manner without permission". Could that be a reason - degrading or detrimental? Ron [uK] -
Brian Like Al, I too am very interested Ron [uK]

Take a look at my "Intro Demo" on Beechbrook.com Whilst in the instance illustrated, there is not a musical background but a short soundtrack. I use this method with variations for all my full presentations. In one instance I have used a page out of a travel brochure for the last slide in the intro with the "invisible buttons" under each day of the itinerary. Each button "Runs Application..." for that day. There are endless ways of making the intro including a two parter with a tea break. Ron [uK]

I crop my images in the ratio 4:3 and resize to 1024 pixels width and as Alan says allowing the Aspect Ratio to change the height to 768 pixels. The 4:3 ratio fills my monitor screen and makes full use of the height and width from my digital projector. Alan says 1027 pixels width but maybe that is a typing error. 1024x768 is a standard display setting. Ron [uK]

Have you tried running a search for your file TEST, then deleting it? Ron [uK]

Bart I am so deeply sorry at your plight and I hope that things will turn around quickly for you. Your contribution to the development of our art with PTE has been greatly appreciated. There is little more that I can put into words at this sad moment. Kind regards Ron [uK]

Adding to my previous, no pause between slides would provide the scroll effect, but from what Michel has said this may not be possible. Thanks anyway. Ron [uK]
-
It would be nice if there was no pause at all between slides. Ron [uK]

You can also right click on a slide or a thumbnail on the lighttable and select "Start preview from current slide". You can also highlight a slide or thumbnail and select Ctrl+R and start the preview. Did you miss this feature Richard? Right click on a slide and see what also is available. Ron [uK]

Alan, should your son find a 72mm Hoya lens cap at Cork when the express dumps him off, it might be mine. I lost one there in the 80's Regards Ron [uK]

It is a pity that the comments on Ken's excellent presentation has been engulfed with this side issue, however important, on copyright. This has been raised in previous threads, but in this case it should not have been introduced to mar Ken's presentation, but started as a new topic and not linked to any of the Beechbrook presentations. Please block it here and now and start it afresh elsewhere if need be. Ron [uK]
-
A truly delightful presentation Ken to start my day before going downstairs to get my breakfast. I liked the way where you have rationed the use of effects other than "fade in/out" and in those cases your use of a high setting for the smoothing line has worked wonders. Photoshop (or other) has come into play with the odd image in greyscale fading up to full colour and in particular the isolated red rose. Thanks a lot. Ron [uK]

Whether or not these speakers are still available I do not know, but my understanding was that they were end of range, which had been technically checked A1, but might have some external damage either to the packaging or enclosure, such as the woofer. In my case it was just the outer packaging. Take a look at the AV World Web site www.avworld.org There is a piece there under Information on sound by Maureen which gives a contact address. Ron [uK]
-
I am sure Maureen will step in on this one. She has given me some sound advice and the speakers which I bought are excellent. She writes in the AV World site: "My New Aego2 Speakers by Acoustic Energy. - Several members recently remarked on the excellent sound quality of my tiny new amplified speakers. They are Aego2 Speakers available from Acoustic Energy." Ron [uK]

Show with mainly pictures in Portrait format
ronwil replied to Squeakyclean's topic in General Discussion
Further again..... Resize your portraits to 512 x 683. In PTE use the Project options>Screen>Sceen options to edit your pictures there by using "percentage of screen..." and "display shadow...". Experiment to achieve a layout of your choice. Good luck. Ron [uK]
