  1. With this second sequence which I have managed to get by my server and upload to Beechbrook, its only merit is that I managed to complete it within 48 hours of the event and included quite a bit of work in Photoshop and a small amount in Audition. The camera which I used was a Minolta Dimage 7hi. The event was an 81st birthday present from my elder son and daughter-in-law in 2003. I apologise for the excess of railway shots at the end - we had a set subject "Railways" in Club Competition earlier this year Ron [uK]
  2. I have had another check and found that whilst the "back" and "forward" buttons work, the pause button does not on my download. Ron [uK]
  3. One thought is that although the music has ceased has the actual track finished. You may have some silence on the track after the music, but silence on as many as six seems a lot. You will have to give a little more information before others will be able to advise. What does the timeline show as regards the length of the track? Ron [uK]
  4. Craig This time, your sequence downloaded and unzipped satisfactorily. Whilst I am not into this type of photography, I am interested in presentation and this was excellent. Your images matched the occasion in a perfect way. The only problem I had was that I could not operate the control bar at the bottom right of the screen, apart from the "X". Thanks and good luck. Ron [uK]
  5. Tried downloading by clicking on the address in your last entry but the message came up "Page cannot be found". Deleted the extension in the address "/karleeedie.zip" and accessed your website but unable to locate the *.zip file. Ron [uK]
  6. See also my "Intro Demo" downloadable from Beechbrook.com which use the objects editor and transparent buttons. Ron [uK]
  7. George, as you suggested, in Photoshop I have experimented with a succession of "cropped-resize to 1024-save for web" images but the resultant playback in PTE looks what it is, a number of different sized images. I have tried various settings for image on screen and fade times but although acceptable it is not a true zoom. I agree with David, let us be patient and wait and see. Ron [uK]
  8. On the FreeRam website I saw that the Lite version had been superseded by FreeRam XP Pro and downloaded this latest version. As far as my limited knowledge goes it is working satisfactory. I selected a 50 per cent setting for Ram free and Automatic and now I have a small icon in the bottom right of the taskbar where a small figure at this moment is fluctuating between 315 and 322 indicating my amount of free RAM. Ron [uK]
  9. Mark This has been discussed in a number of threads in the past and the recommendations have always been that you prepare your text etc prior to adding to PTE using a picture editing programme such as Photoshop. Ron [uK]
  10. Techman I have created in Photoshop a set of rectangular blocks which I can use to cover over my text (or image - see my Intro Demo on Beechbrook) in Object Editor. Then, using right click on the "Cover" and Properties, check Main>Transparent Background then under 'Action on mouse click' complete the actions you have been doing up till now. I have checked back on the sequences I have prepared in this way and they are still stable. Good luck Ron [uK]
  11. Al Surely, when you right click on your image and select "Open picture" it will open the image in your picture editing programme, such as Photoshop, where you can alter to your hearts content, then save and close and you are back to PTE with your image updated. I know it works as it is one of the features which I have expressed my appreciation in a previous thread. PTE does not close. Best wishes Ron [uK]
  12. I always use the "Create slideshow as" command then I know where I am saving it and what as. Ron[uK}
  13. Trev I have followed Maureen's step-by-step instructions in Photoshop 7.01 and used your 90% sizing in PTE and it has worked perfectly. Are you sure that in the Stroke settings you are using Location>Inside and that you set the Image size in Photoshop at 1024x768? Ron [uK]
  14. Thanks Guido. Unfortunately the other two sequences in the production do not stand alone. They contain voice-over at the end introducing the next sequence and are likked to the next by using "Run application after last slide". Also they are of such a size to be blocked by my server. Ron [uK]
  15. Thanks both of you for your kind comments, I am sure my colleagues in Sutton Camera Club who with me supplied the images will be delighted too. As regards our pictures in the headlights I am sure I could clone some of those out, but what the heck it shows that you took a critical look at the images and that is appreciated. Sorry I haven't any information about the music. Ron [uK]
  16. Cindy For my personal presentations I project with the Royale on to a 6 foot screen and am more than satisfied with the quality of the resolution. This equally applied when projecting on to 15 foot screens at local AV Days and Competitions. I first saw the prototype in use at the 2001 Nationals and was so impressed that I purchased one of the first five production models. The Royale has been the chosen unit for digital projection at other major events since, including the RPS International Festival. Ron [uK]
  17. We've had a look at Pixort in a previous thread and generally found it a non-starter and was fortunately overtaken by the infinitely preferred PTE version 4.30 with its "Light Table". Ron [uK]
  18. Cindy If you are resident in the UK, take a look in my website at the specification for the Royale Projection System. As regards elsewhere I am not aware of the manufacturer's trading policy. Ron [uK]
  19. Apart from two small demos, I have at last managed to get past my server and upload a sequence, “Bentley Motor Museum” on to the Beechbrook site. In May this year six members of the 8-strong AV Group of Sutton Camera Club visited the Bentley Wild Fowl & Motor Museum in East Sussex, England with the object of taking pictures and producing a combined AV Presentation. The presentation consists of three sequences following one after the other using “Run application after last slide” in PTE. “Motor Museum” is the last of the three sequences. The large shed in which the museum is housed has a number of skylights and with it being a bright sunny day there was a lot of flare from the brightwork on the vehicles. So concentration was directed to close-ups of the headlamps. The resulting images from negative and positive film and digital sources and 3:2 and 4:3 ratios were edited in Photoshop, sized to 1024x768 and Saved for the Web in *.jpg at 8 compression. Thank you Bill at Beechbrook for the patience you have shown in helping me at last to show something on you site. Ron [uK]
  20. Trev What you seem to have missed is Maureen's last and previous posts. The site is not accessible at the moment. Ron [uK]
  21. I have been using a Que 40GB USB External Harddrive for the past two years and use it for either transferring or playing back on my Royale Digital Projection Unit, which has its own built in computer. For projects, which I am going to transfer in toto, I create them in one specific folder in Drive C of my main computer, copy it into the external harddrive and then transfer the folder to Drive C of the projection unit so that there are no problems with the file line. Ron [uK]
  22. Whilst I am more than happy with each new beta which Igor introduces I have not found "The push and slide effect is much improved" as reported in previous postings. Am I missing something? The only thing I would like to see improved with this effect, if it is technically possible, is for the transition from one slide to the next to be without any hesitation. I too would like to be able to leave the background still while the foreground moves, but I repeat I am more than happy with what I already have and thank Igor and the team for what they have achieved. Ron [uK]
  23. Go to the File drop down menu (top left) and select "Create slide show as" and this will open up a box for you to save your *.exe file. To start with you could use your Temp folder in which to save it, you can use the same File name and Save as type Executable file (*.exe). However, if you opened up a special folder for your project the *.exe file should be deposited there. The rest is normal copying on to CD of the *.exe file, which stands and operates alone without the need for any of the rest of the files which made up your *.pte project. Ron [uK]
  24. Thanks Maureen. I had been experiencing difficulties and sent an e-mail only yesterday. Best wishes. Hope to be at Cirencester. Ron [uK]
  25. For the record my key reads as follows, except that I have deleted most of the central characters: REGEDIT4 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PTE] "Key"="0Zb.........2CY=" Ron [uK]
