Some weeks ago I had the possibility to spend a few hours photographing this Historic Opera House in Connecticut USA. The name Opera House was common in the late 1800, even as the building was mainly used for vaudeville and theater performances. The building was declared a historic site in 1968 and the inside is still waiting to be restored. All the inside pictures were made in HDR, and some pictures were combined to make panoramas. Thanks to Bill Hines, you can watch it here: http://www.beechbrook.com/pte/downloadfile.asp?id=2382

Nobody with a MAC???? Bert
-
For a persons who has a Mac computer. Please can you download this ZIP file and see if the show has sound with it. 20 sec. Factory sound. No sound by the images outside the factory. House music by images inside the factory. Please let my know if this MAC show has sound. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/12297675/Abandoned%2016x10%20New%20for%20MAC.zip Regards, Bert

Lin and Peter, Because I have Audacity open now, I will send both files thru Audacity. Can't hurt I think. Have to find somebody with a MAC now to send the link to, who can see (hear) if this works. Regards, Bert
-
Hi Lin, I will do that, but have to download Audacity first. Because both files don't play in the MAC, would I not do the same with the other MP3 also? Regards, Bert

Hi Peter, I took the music files from the internet and saved them as MP3 files. I don't see anywhere CBR or VBR in the files. The bitrate is 320 Kbps for one and 124Kbps for the other one. But they are on two different tracks and they are not combined. There is even a silence in between them. I could make an EXE and a MP4 from the project file with the sound, so it must be the "executable MAC file" that is the problem. Regards, Bert

Hi, I have a project file that I have successfully published as an EXE show and an MP4 HD show. Both look good and I even put the EXE on Beechbrook, (Abandoned). A friend with a MAC asked me for the show in MAC format, and I have made an “executable file for mac” I have put that on an USB stick, but when he plays it, it has no sound. I have made a “zipped file for mac” and send that via dropbox, but again the show runs without sound. I than made a “zipped file for mac” from another show and send that to him, and that one has sound. So the problem is with making that particular show in an “executable file for mac” because the EXE and MP4 of that show are fine. There is nothing different in the project options of the project file, and the music files are MP3. I have windows 7, and 8GB of ram. Here is the link to the “zipped file for mac” in my dropbox. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/12297675/Abandoned%2016x10.app.zip Can anybody figure out why there is no sound in the MAC file? Igor if you see this, tell me the e-mail address were I can send you the link to the “project file” if you want to take a look at it. Thanks, Bert

Great advice, I did what you suggested Dave and it worked. Thanks Bert

Hi I have made a show and the EXE is around 75mB. I have send it to some friends using the "copy public" in the "public" dropbox folder. But one friend has an MAC and cannot see EXE files. I have made the executable file for MAC, but cannot send that via the "public dropbox folder, because there is no "copy public link" in the public dropbox folder. (Has something to do that the MAC show is in a file format and dropbox does not give a public link for that). I have made a "Zip file" of the executable file for MAC and tried to attach that to an e-mail, but after 40 min. the Zip file was still trying to attach to the e-mail, and I stopped it. Does anybody have a suggestion on how to proceed? Thanks, Bert

That is a good idea Dave, I still have 6 weeks before the deadline and will e-mail them. Bert

Hi Dave, Thanks for your quick reply, I don't know if they will put the AV shows on a hard drive or an USB stick, both play the show fine when used. I don't know how other competitions do it. This is a competition for PSA, the American Photographic Association. I know there are not that many AV shows made in America and that PSA has not that many people submitting a show. If they play the shows only from the DVD, and don't have Media Player Classic- Home Cinema, it will not play smooth. Regards, Bert

I like to send in an AV show to a competition and they don't accept EXE files, but do AVI and MP4 files. I have done as Peter describes in post#2 and made an HD video and put that on a DVD. When I play the DVD back on my computer, in VLC or Windows Media Player it does not play smooth and stutters and skips slides to catch up. After about the first 10 slides it has catched up and plays fine. The same happens when I play the DVD in my DVD player to watch it on the TV. I have made an AVI DVD also but that plays even worse. The MP4 file plays fine in Windows Media Classic. When I play the same MP4 file thru a USB stick, the show plays fine on my computer and TV. Because I have to send a DVD and don't know what player they use on their computer, what is the solution? I know that the individual slides the show is made from are big files, around 2300x1500 and between 800 and 1200Mb. Do I have to make the show again using smaller jpegs, or is there may be a way to set the parameters in PTE for the creation of the MP4 file in such a way that the MP4 file will play without stuttering on any computer? Steve sorry to got in your thread, but it seems related to my problem. Regards, Bert

Mur Nice old style album, I for one find it very difficult to get my head around how to make one, and I think we can always use more templates and tutorials. Thanks, Bert

Aspect Ratio and Fit to Slide/Cover Slide options
Bert replied to Igor's topic in General Discussion
As all the formats are now in the options, works fine for me. I have made a template with all the settings that I want to use when starting a new show. I also would like the "fit to slide" and "cover slide" in the options. Regards Bert -
Maureen and Mark, Thanks for a great AV show. I liked it that you had included some close-ups, and also that there where now and then people in the pictures to give the landscapes a sense of scale. Bert

Aspect Ratio and Fit to Slide/Cover Slide options

I use the 16x10 format all the time because it is the format of my computer screen, and I don't have to cut off to much of the 2x3 images from my camera. I use it also When projecting at my camera club. Please keep it available as a format, not necessary as default. Thanks Bert -
Great shots of the landscape, I had the feeling I walked with the photographer. Beautiful presentation Thanks for showing. Bert

Hi Ralph, Thanks for your comments, I agree with you that photographing decay has an appeal. I think it has something to do with trying to make images of the feeling of time. Regards, Bert

Dave I like this transition very much. Would it be posible to provide a template for it. Regards, Bert

Hi Philippe, Very nice super sharp portrets of interesting faces, I liked the way you left some color in the images. Thanks for posting, Regards, Bert

Hi Jim, Nice collection of African birds, I am just a week back from 4 weeks in S. Africa, I did not see as many birds as you saw but concentrated more on the bigger animals. Your show helps me to get the names right of the few birds I took pictures of. Thanks for showing. regards, Bert
