Igor, In the new version can you make that the buttons are not so "cramped" and the text not cut off in the Project Options Box, when my settings are Large Fonts (120 ppi) in windows XP Home. Thanks, Bert

< Hi, The layout of my "Project Options" box is still the same as it was in the older versions. But it has all the new buttons and it is very "cramped" and some text is cut off. Should it not look the same as the "Project Options" box in the new tutorials? > Igor I have set my text in Windows to 96DPI and as you said, that solved the problem with the "project options" box. Consequently all windows text is smaller now. I like the 120DPI font size because that makes things easier to read for me, (we all getting older). So if it is not to much of a job, can you in the next update make the "Project options" box less cramped, if I use the 120 DPI font size. Thanks, Bert

< Bert, this problem comes when you set "Large fonts" (120 dpi) in Windows. I know about this visual problem and will try to optimize for this mode. Please let me know your version of Windows> Igor, I have checked my Windows XP Home edition settings in the Display properties. I have the following settings: Windows Classic Style, Windows Standard and the font size Normal. This does not seem a big font size as the 2 other Font sizes I can choose from are large and extra large.

Hi, This is not a big thing, but something I noticed over the last upgrades. I don't know if it is only on my computer but the Lay-out for the Project Options is getting a little small and some of the boxes are close together. Also some of the text does not fit in the boxes anymore. Maybe it is possible the make some more space for the Project Options lay-out in the next upgrade. Again not a big thing just esthetics. Hi Jeanie I also have only a phone line connection to the internet at home. What I do is download a slide show from Beechbrook on a computer with broadband. In my case that is at my work but you can also do it at a friend or maybe a library. From that computer I put it on a USB flash drive and bring it home to my computer. A 128MB USB Flash drive cost around $30 in the US. Maybe this is an idea for you. Regards, Bert

My question concerns cropped images. I have scanned a vertical slide at 3264 pixels wide x 2520 pixels high. I want only to use one half of the slide and after cropping end up with a vertical image of 1470 pixels wide x 2062 pixels high. If I wanted to make a print of this image at say 8 x 12, I would resize it up 160% (bicubic resampling), to get a vertical with enough pixels to print. How does this work for a slide show? Do I resize the cropped image 1470 x 2062 to a 549 x 768 jpeg to fit on the screen, or do I resize it up first 160 % and than resize it to a 549 x 768 jpeg. Thanks, Bert

Patrick, That was a great show to watch, liked the way you put in the small pictures of the boats and the people. The music matched it well. Bert

I like also to see how this is done, is it possible to post it please? Thanks,

Al, First thanks for making a great tutorial, it made me buy PTE and it helps me a lot to understand the possibilities of it. My question is this: [Then you save this text file as "autorun.inf" to the root of your CD.] But how do you do that? If I save a program to CD using Roxio, where do I find the "root" of the CD. Is that the same place where it says "add" the program to be copied? And do I type in "autorun.inf"?

Hi Barry, I Have several of your tutorial CD's, I would be interested in a Sound Editing Tutorial. I agree with Jim and would like to see you use Audacity or Acoustica for your Demo's. Bert

Thank you all for your helpful suggestions, Alan your point about removing the noise first before sharpen is well taken. Barry if I understand you correctly does it mean that you resize the image first to 1024 X 864 as a Tiff, than sharpen and than save them as a JPEG? Also are there some things that are different between a digital projected image and the one you see on the screen? (Darker or lighter, more or less contrast, etc.) Thanks, Bert

Hello, I am new to this forum, I did a search under sharpen, but nothing came up. I like to transfer a slide show that I used to show with 2 projectors and a disolve unit, into a Digital Slide Show. I have a Minolta Dual III film scanner that scan's to 2800DPI. For the best quality projection, is it recommended to scan the +/-150 slides in as high resolution Tiff's and then transform them to JPEG's or scan them in as JPEG's right away? (Timesaver). When I make 9" x 13" prints from my slides I always sharpen them (unsharp mask) before printing, what makes a big difference in appearance. Is this also recommended for Digital Projection? I know I should not make JPEG's if I going to sharpen. Thanks, Bert
