  1. Another thing I think would be nice on the Navigation bar is a slider bar accross the bottom of it. Like the ones the media players use when they are playing a video or a song. It would be nice if we could click on it and drag it back and forth to select the slide we want to be at. cc
  2. I played around with it and it worked well too. I have not sent any slideshow out with this option yet for an extended trial. But I did not see any problems in my testing. cc
  3. Maybe a Volume control. or at least a mute button. cc
  4. This is the link for the Studio 8 Trial Also, If you are using Windows XP It comes with Windows Movie Maker It can convert the PTE AVI file to the WMV file format. You can try that and see if it works for you. If you do try it Windows has a free update for it on there web site. You have a lot of choices on the video size and quality. I conveted one file and it seemed to work ok. But I have not used it much. cc
  5. Rick, I do agree with you that Studio 8 does a good job of creating a Video. but my first choice is the EXE file. It is a much smaller file and the quality is much better and it a lot quicker to compile. I spend a lot of time putting a slideshow together in PTE. I would hate to have to recreate it just to make a few DVD's for a family member that do not have computers. It will be so nice to just click on the AVI button and then have Studio 8 start encoding the DVD. I like Pinnacle and what I can do with it. But the quality is not as good as the EXE file that PTE makes. So I will always start my slideshows with PTE and use Pinnacle just to create my DVD's. But, If I do have any questions about Studio I may send you a note in the future. I hope the offer was open to all chuck
  6. As Lumenlux has said the AVI file that PTE creates is a Temp file. You can not Copy it. and watch it later. You can not watch it on a different computer. It is only good on the computer it is created on. And only watchable while PTE is still open. If you try and copy it to watch later you will have a black screen with just audio. As he has said you need to use a different program to convert the Temp PTE_AVI file to a mpeg file. The program you use should allow you to pick the size and quality of the compression of the Mpeg. TEMGenc is a Freeware program that will allow you to convert the the file to a Mpeg file. It does work well with the PTE_AVI file. But it does take time for the conversion to take place. The quality of the Mpg file will be a lot lower then the quality of the EXE file. And the Mpeg file will also be a lot larger. You will have to play with the Mpeg and see what you are happy with. But if you make a slideshow that is VHS quality for 3 min and 30 sec. The Mpeg file could be about 65MB. If you go lower that that I am not sure you would be happy with the quality for some one to view your work. You may not even be happy that VHS quality. DVD quality would be somewhere around 155MB. These are very large files for someone to download. I am not sure of the answer to the question about the size of the Temp PTE AVI file. But I think the size of it is more becasue of the audio you are using and not the Pictures. Because the pictures are sent to the temp file as you watch it. I hope this answers some of your question. cc
  7. Well I tried the Beta 3. and Studio will convert the file. But It has a lot of Flickering going on. I made a little 30 sec low quality MPG to show you what it does. I tried turning off the fade between pictures. But this did not help. It does work if I use the uncompressed video codec when I create the avi file. If I watch the video before I start creating it plays fine. But When it starts Converting you can see it Flicker on the screen. cc
  8. I don't know how to fix your problem. But for myself, I always make my text in a graphic editor and place it on the picture as an object. I save my text as a Gif and use a Transparent background. Or choose the option in PTE to make the background transparent. With this option you can use any font you want and you don't have to worry that the viewer will have it installed. This doen't fix your problem but it is a way you can make sure that the text you are wanting to show is showing on the screen of other computers. cc
  9. I just seen this free file at adobe. I thought there may be others that might like a picture viewer from a product they already use. Or for family members to use. Photoshop Album 2.0 Starter Edition I have not used it but I know Adobe makes great photo editing programs. It says you can perform basic fixes such as cropping, rotating, and removing red eye. cc
  10. One way to quickly change the size of your pictures on your screen is.... - Project option. --screen tab ---check the box Fit to screen (Enlarge image to fit screen) ---Then change the 100 percent of the screen to show image to a lower percent. maybe around 80% will be close. I have not used this option yet to create a DVD, But I had already thought about it. I just am not sure what percent to use. It will just be a trial process. If you get a number that works well. let the rest of us know. If your text on the screen is an added object you will have to move it up. But if it is added to the picture with another program you will not have to do anything. please let us know if this works for you. cc
  11. I still get the same error - "The selected clip has non-standard Video Frame Rate Thus Cannot be encoded to MPEG" I can open the video in Studio 8 - edit the clip - watch it. everything seems to work normal until I try to finish a project. when I try to make any file it will give me the error. I am using window XP and using the "PictureToExe Video Codec" I have also tried "Microsoft Video1" with the same results. cc
  12. I get the same error. The only time I was able to use Pinnacle is when I used TMpegEnc and I convert the avi file first. But, I had us use Mpeg1. I wish I had my 30 day trial back. I am able to use Easy CD Creator 6. But I would like to use Pinnacle. I just feel I have more control over the DVD. Hopefull in the end we will be able to use Pinnacle too. cc
  13. I was just playing with the Custom AVI and I changed the FPS to 29.7 I got an error telling me that it was not a valid value. But I was unable to cancel out of it. I had to use the Alt Ctrl and Del keys to end the Program. I have not tried making a DVD. Also, I like the new "Permit the control of Show" for shows that are sync. I think this will be a much used option. cc
  14. A free program someone told about a long time ago is MP3trim. With this you can cut a song where you want. I think it works well and is to use. http://www.logiccell.com/~mp3trim/ cc
  15. Thanks for the show. I missed the live version that night. I thought you had posted some pictures like this about a year ago. I was going to leave a message to see if you still had them online anywhere. I did watched your slideshow "Emmalea" because I knew you had some pictures in it. cc
  16. You asked what other programs are involved. A few programs I use are: Photoshop Elements 2.0 Xnview Audacity and MP3 programs rippers and Editors You compare PTE with some Video editing programs. With the Video Editing prgrams you get a much larger file size than a show made with PTE. And the quailty of the pictures in a PTE file are so much better. If you want to make a PTE file for someone to view pictures to make an order, I feel you cannot even compare it to the Video editing programs. PTE is just so much more advanced in this area once you learn how to achieve your goals with it. But one thing that is a big selling point. When one of them other programs comes out with a new update, see how much they charge you for the latest version. Usually $50 or more just to update. PTE costs half that and you get life time updates. The program does so much more today then when I bought it. There have been things I wished it could do, and I was able to make suggestions and get a reply about my ideas. Whether they liked it or didn't like it. I think if you buy the program and learn what all it can do, you will never be sorry. cc
  17. I think you should use a zip program to zip the file. This way it will not confuse people when they are downloading the file. If you are using XP you can right click on your file DaydreamsDemo.exe Send to.. Compressed (Zipped) Folder This will add another file in the Dir DaydreamsDemo.zip I am sure you wil get more information if you need it. Hope this helps. cc
  18. Stu, Looks like we were thinking the same thing. cc
  19. If you make a solid color Gif or BMP Place them as objects where you want your link. you can then check the option to have a transparent background on the object. Because it is all one color it will make it to invisible. Then set the action of the Gif or Bmp to open the application. Only problem with is option is... Different screen setting will move the objects around. Not sure if this is what you are looking for? cc
  20. That is correct. In my slideshow "Wedding" my wife created these pages so the photographs could be made into an Album. I just took the finished pages and delete the layers one at a time and saved the pages in steps. Then I faded them from one to another looking like the pictures were being added. I had also used the objects in my "Freeze Frame" (3.8 MB). Adding objects you can do the same thing. If you want two or more pictures on the screen but not in the middle. You can select a picture then un-check the box Show image You see it on the main screen of PTE next to your slide list. You will now have a blank screen. PTE will not show this picture for this slide. Click on the object editor. Now you can add the same or any picture you want and move it where you want on the screen. The only thing wrong with this option. Is when a show made with objects is played on a screen with a different screen size then yours picture will be in different places. It could bunch them up more. And they may be on top of one another. That is why I used a different way to create my wedding show. Now I have just one picture on the screen, so if PTE needs to resize the picture It will just do the one picture and it will still look the same. Becasue it is not 8 different pictures placed around the screen. cc
  21. Thanks Al, This is the option I already use. I just change the name of my picture to the Grid. And when I am done I put my picture's name back. I download a Grid from Beechbrok that Hans Van-Klinken Posted a while ago. Called "Rasters for placing buttons" I thought it would be handy if I could just click a button to see a grid. And maybe have a choice to change the width of it. But most of all have it objects snap to the line. Or If I could just enter the a starting place for my objects would work too. Thanks for offering the Grid. cc
  22. 1. I would like to see a Grid show up when I am in the object editor. Or at least a button so I could turn it on and off. Now I have to change my picture so I can see a Grid. I think it would be very helpful placing object. And if this is added it would be nice if we could select that the object go to the nearest grid line if we are trying to line up more then one object. this would help get things lined up. 2. Also when I go to the object editor I can select a (preview in) screen size option to see what it will look like on different screens. I wish this option could remember what I select. every time I am go to the object editor I need to reselect what screen size I am trying to work on. I know I can change my computer screen. But then I can not see the complete window. It is nice to have my screen set larger then what I am working on this way I can see all of my objects when I am working in the object editor. cc
  23. Thanks Bill, But I can not take credit. My wife made the album while I was at work. I thought too it looked very good. And thought it would make a nice slideshow. So I took all of her hard work and made a slideshow out of it. (The easy part) I will tell her about your kind words. cc
  24. If the MP3 jumps to the end or plays to fast. the pictures will be in a constant fade trying to catch up to the song. So you will not have a chance to press the Esc key. The computer will be busy. So I am thinking that maybe the MP3 I used coded at 56 must be the problem. Maybe the player is trying to play the 56 Mp3 at a faster rate. I think this will cause the song to play faster. And maybe sound like a hissing sound. I will make a song at 128 for you to try. thanks cc
  25. My new slideshow at Beeckbrook was a Wedding Album my wife and I put together for my nephew. He and his fiancé were going to get married in August, and she was called to active duty in February. The family threw a wedding together in a day. We had a web cam set up so family could watch from out of state. Very emotional. However, she didn't end up going because of a knee injury and they ended up having their special day in August. They are also expecting their first child next February! This slideshow is the Album we put together for them as a wedding gift. I just decided to make it a Digital album too. cc
