The last proof show I just gave out I couldn't bring myself to do the time limit. I have always enabled the don't print button. I will end up charging a lot more up front in the near future. Thanks for the advice! ~Cindy

Igor, that sounds good. When will 4.40 be ready? Ken, yeah, I have to get tougher. Most people are pretty good, but the busier I get, the less time I have to waste on those that drag their feet. ~Cindy

Thanks. I think I'll still give it a try. Sorry for the double post. I don't know how that happened. Oops! ~Cindy

I'm thinking about using this feature on my portrait proof AV shows I give to customers. Too often they watch the show so many times that I think the images get old and their excitement to order starts to wain! My question is how does this feature work? Can the customer over ride it by resetting the date on their computer? Thanks, ~Cindy

Thank you for the replies! Hi Peter! Yes, that does seem to be what I am looking for. I sent an e-mail requesting any further info and also asked if they sell outside of the UK. Ken, I would prefer to use the exe file because the quality is at it's best. I do, however, burn shows to DVD for clients to keep. Peter and Ron, is the projected resolution on the Royale as good as on a computer's monitor? I loved how sharp this unit I borrowed was. Although it did blow some hilights which I wasn't too happy with. Loweskid, I looked at that unit by Sony and it doesn't appear to accept Compact Flash cards or CD's. Thanks anyway. ~Cindy

Last night I did a public slide show presentation and they requested it be with a projector. I borrowed one and was completely impressed with it! The model I borrowed was a few years old and I know there are many on the market today. I hate to borrow, so would like to purchase one of my own. Forgive me, but I'm starting my quest here to get suggestions on what to look for. Is it possible to get a good one that is self contained and doesn't need a laptop to connect to? Thank you, ~Cindy

I hope you haven't given up yet. Your project is possible without too much headache I believe. I use Nova Development's "Video Explosion Deluxe". Their website is Nova Development. I've been very satisfied with this program as it is easy to use. (I also have enough headaches in my life!) I couldn't find the other programs mentioned on this forum locally (middle of nowhere) and was wary of buying something online I couldn't return. The Video Explosion will convert to an MPG2. Open the avi file in the program, the click file>make movie>write movie to file on disk(goes onto your hardrive)>next>mpg2,DVD NTSC-better,>(uncheck fast video resizing)>next (and it will convert the AVI file to the mpg format.) Then open MY DVD which came packaged with Video Explosion. It's all very simple really (if I can do it anyone can!!!) All the files you open will be added as a new movie and included on the DVD. You can use their chapter templates (it doesn't matter because this isn't the final stage for what you are trying to do). Burn as many disks as you need until your project is all onto DVDs. Now, this is expensive but well worth the investment. You will need a DVD recorder/player that will hook up to your TV. I use a Panasonic DVD Video Recorder DMR-E8OH. It cost me about $700 just a few months ago. It has a hard drive (60Gigs I think) that will store a LOT of movies. Put your movies onto the hard drive (HDD) and separate them into chapters. Name them. Then burn them (they call it dubbing) all onto one disk. The machine has a wonderful compression system that will make up to 6 hours of video fit onto one disk and the quality is amazing! It will only compress it to what is needed to make it fit. It will need to be finalized but after that it will play on the majority of DVD players. I'm sure there are other options online but I'm with you, they are complicated. We bought the Panasonic for recording movies off the satellite but it has turned out to be a very useful tool for other projects as well. I'd be happy to help you, though, if you don't want to invest in the recorder. ~Cindy

I know that Macintosh computers cannot run an exe file. But after we convert the pte to an avi file, there are other options as to what it is converted to from there. Is there a particular format that might work so that Mac users can view our shows? Options like Quick Time, Real Media, or leaving as an MPEG2? ~Cindy

I'm sorrry for the confusion. The music is Pachelbel and I have that, but what I needed was the mixed version on my show Dancing Dreams. I had added about 3 separate tracks of nature sounds to the beginning and end, fading them independently in and out of the Canon in D part. Thunder, running water with crickets, and elk. Thanks for trying and it is solved now. ~Cindy

Thank you Ron, but Quietstorm just did it for me. Thanks, Bart! I'll be looking into that program that WA5IJA mentioned, sounds interesting. And Ken, that site wasn't mine, mine is in my signature. I'm about to re-do the whole site just as soon as I find the time. Tired of the look. Thanks for all the help everyone! ~Cindy

Thank you for your replies! I used Audacity to mix the tracks and then dBpowerAMP to convert to MP3. I don't have the other programs mentioned but will look into them. I hopefully won't have this problem again so don't know if I want to purchase a program. Ken, the song is the one on my show "Dancing Dreams". It's on my website and also on Beechbrook a few pages back. I'm trying to put all of my shows onto DVD and this one is giving me grief because of the lost music track. ~Cindy

A show I created before the days of AVI conversion capability I would now like to put on to DVD. The problem is, I don't have the MP3 of the music I did for it anymore (accidently deleted it!) and it wasn't that easy to put together in the first place (a lot of mixing was involved). I don't think I can duplicate it without a lot of time involved which I will do as a last resort. Is there a way to get the music off my exe file? The rest of the pte file is in tact, just missing the music file. Thank you, ~Cindy

Paul, I love your site! and your photography is great and very creative! ~Cindy

As was mentioned earlier, very few people will comment and number of downloads does not tell how good a show is. It's also hard to post opinions about a show you didn't like that was done by someone you do like. People are very nice on this forum. How about a pop up window link that has more of a description (by the creator) and list a category. Many shows on Beechbrook are scenic shows but then there are some with more of a theme. A distinction between the two would be helpful. The tutorials are obvious, of course, but a description on them would help also. Now all one has to go by is the sample picture which can be a bit misleading sometimes. ~Cindy Singleton

Oleg , I hope it was a happy day for you! ~Cindy

You can do it in Audacity or Nero. You'll need to delete some of the music to shorten it, but if you put a fade in and/or fade out it will hide the cut. If you get in real close, you could delete parts in the middle but that gets pretty tricky. In Nero you can adjust the tempo and speed it up. ~Cindy

Beautiful pictures and beautiful show! Is that how it looks where you live? Wow. ~Cindy
