  1. Hello. I have writen a visual basic project to export all the fonts included in à *.PTE file. Extraction Polices PTE.exe
  2. I confirm. I record public lectures made by my wife using a PTE run manually, then I synchronize views and voice over, and create a DVD. The duration is 90 to 100 minutes. The image quality is poor, but this is very useful for my wife to review the lecture on a TV set anywhere and improve her comments for the next lecture. By the way, the original PTE Show is in 4/3 format and includes many zoom and pan animations, so I use a watermark as a mask to stay in 4/3 format during pan and zoom animations on the HD TV. I use a "Project Options / % of slide to show main images" value of 94%
  3. Here are 4 images wich describe exactly what I request: 1 - I insert my voice-over file. I run the project and stop it where I want to cut the voice-over 2 I hit the "split" button and this is the result 3 I put the second extract at the right place, I continue to listen the project, then stop it where I want to cut again. 4 I hit the "split" button and this is the result Of course to-day I can spend some time to do all of that manualy, but it would be nice to have a "split" button...
  4. Hi. Thank you, but this is not the way I work since PTE v8 is available. I cut my scénario in 5, 6 or 8 parts, and I attach the sound files at each first view of each part, and then I modify the duration of each view in each part according to my taste, and I have no need to go back to Audacity to modify the duration of silences. Since PTE 8 I consider that all the sound mixage has to be done under PTE. Audacity remains useful to prepare the sound file, normalize levels, remove noise, expand or shrink the duration, but not mixage operations.
  5. Thank you ! You said it with the right words ! Of course we can survive with the present situation, but the capability we suggest would be of great help.
  6. Yes I know it and I use it ! But I have to create a file for each extract, and it is boring !
  7. It will be very useful to have a "split" tool for audio files. Assume you record commentaries with a vocal recorder and you obtain à file with a duration of two minutes. You import this audio file into a PTE project and you need to split it in several parts to match comments on views. Of course it is just a virtual split. In fact the file could be duplicated and trimmed. Presently, I have to save 3 or 4 differents short files or more from Audacity, and it is boring.
  8. My first video projector was a XGA (1024*768) and it was just fine for the lectures I prepare with my wife. Last month, some white pixels appeared. The lamp is dead. I bought a new projector and I choose the same format: XGA. It cost me only 350€ and it is well suited for our projections. Meanwhile, I prepare all the shows in 1440*1080 pixels, in order to obtain fine images on all projectors when different associations request our lectures.
  9. I'm confused ! I removed 7-Zip from my PC but the default software to open Zip files was still 7-Zip ! Now I corrected it and the Zip files are automaticaly opened by Windows Explorer. Thank you for your tutorial ! Notice that under Photoshop CC, it is possible to directly extract the 22 frames from the video.
  10. Hi Lin For people who don't use 7-Zip or Win-RAR and don't want to use them because these softwares are not safe, could you please provide us standard zip files ? http://www.zdnet.com/article/critical-winrar-vulnerability-places-500-million-users-at-risk/
  11. Hi Lin. +1
  12. Hello. This is the solution I usually use for this kind of effect: Two background images rotating in opposite sense. This allow to use standard 500ms space between the two keypoints. The images disappear just after 250ms, so it is easier to synchronise with sound. EtudeRotation.zip
  13. I do it for a different reason. Generally, I write a short scenario for my slide show, and I split it in several sequences: 3 to 6, sometimes more. I then build several sub projects in PTE, each subproject including 1, 2 or 3 sequences. For each subproject I attach the différent soundtracks to different views. After that, I copy all the different projects in one main project. This is why it is so important for me to be able to attach all the soundtracks to different views.
  14. It is that I do since 1999, and I will continue to do so for each image I will process in the next five years. Of course under Photoshop I use 16 bit PRoPhoto or Adobe colorspace, but Every time an image is processed under Photoshop, DXO or NikonViewNx, I save the result in jpg format and sRGB colorspace. PTE color space management will be a good thing, but I will continue to include in my projects only sRGB images.
  15. Hello. I use very often PTE to make interactive shows and I am sometime puzzled because the behavior of the buttons is not fully compliant with the Microsoft standard. Would it be possible for the next version to have buttons fully compliant to Microsoft recommendations ? Normally, when the mouse passes hover an unselected button, the mouse doesn't change but the button becomes darker. Here the link to the Microsoft page. https://msdn.microsoft.com/fr-fr/library/windows/apps/hh465470
  16. Hello. Would it be possible to have the following option ? Each time we open an existing project, PTE creates a copy named LastOpenedProjectN.pte file, assuming N is a number from 0 to 9. Doing this, we will have the possibility to restore a copy of the 10 last used project.
  17. Hi, Igor. this would be a good solution, allowing us to show/hide a map or a glossary. May be you remember I asked two years ago for the capability to have secondary shows accessible like sub-programs, with a kind of GoSub-Return command. This would be something very usefull, and may be such an implementation would not be too much difficult in version 9.
  18. Hi, Lin. You can also suggest me to use Powerpoint for my lectures !
  19. I use it in 10 projects a year. These projects are non-synchronised projects à la Powerpoint for lectures. When the teacher juges it necessary, He hits the F1 key to display a map or a shema. Of course, I regret to not be able to put animations in this kind of view, but at least this kind of view exists. For a lecture "Iron architecture in Paris during the XIXth century", I used 20 different help windows to locate the different buildings in Paris, and these windows were accessible by a button in the right corner of each view.
  20. I fully agree. May be a "cut" function will be useful, to be able to split a voice-over file and attach each extract to the right view, but I will never ask for much.
  21. Hello Tom. I share your analysis. For 30€, Fraps works fine with Windows 7. The size of the generated files has to be optimised under PTE VideoConverter, but this is not really a problem for a tutorial, assuming that a good tutorial duration is between 5 to 10 minutes. If your tutorial lasts more, you do better to split it in several tutorials. If you are ready to pay 5 to 20 times more, you can buy a 4K HDMI device, but this is an other story !
  22. Hello yachtsman1. I posted two examples in the appropriate topic, one at 60 fps and the other at 30 fps. http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?/topic/18447-question-about-video-screen-capture-tools/page-3#entry123018
