  1. Hello. I tried Camstudio, but the sound recorded from the microphone is not perfect. Now I use Fraps. http://www.fraps.com/ Here you find a Youtube video from Fraps captured at 60 fps. And the same thing captured at 30 fps. These two Full HD videos have been edited with PTE VideoConverter for size optimisation (weight divided by 2). To create PTE Tutorials, I will usee Fraps at 30 fps.
  2. Thank you for your answer, Igor. Take care of your health ! As I said yesterday, I use now a new video screen capture fully handled by PTE VideoConverter, so it's no longer a problem for me. Concerning the fact that I lost the sound of one video when two videos are played simultaneously during several minutes in a sole view, this is not a major concern, because the best way to manage the sound is to extract it from the video and insert it into PTE as a sound file.
  3. Hello ! I stop to use CamStudio ! I was the only one trying to use it ! I use now an other software: Fraps The fluidity is very good and the sound perfect. I have no problem to edit the video under PTE VideoConverter. I will present you some samples in the appropriate section.
  4. I will try to describe that I did in my project. I made simultaneously two videos: one from my camera, and the other with Camstudio,. I insert the two videos in one PTE view and I synchronize them. The sound from the first video is cut. We hear only the sound from the second video. The video from the camera is on top and this is what we see during 2 minutes. Then The opacity of video 1 is set to 0 and we see video 2 (my PC screen). At 03.39.148 there is a new keypoint. And at 03.39.648 yher is an other keypoint with Opacity = 100% I tried with other video files on a new project and the problem remains the same. I tried with two short videos of 1 minutes and there were no problem. I saved my project as a template to be able to send it to Igor, and I discovered that only the first video was copied...
  5. After several trials, I discovered that there are two diferent problems. Problem 1 : Impossible to edit correctly with PTE converter an AVI file generated by Camstudio. Workaround solution: Edit it with Freemake Video Converter. Problem 2 : When I put 2 videos of 5-6 minutes into 1 view, everything is correct for my exe file, but I lost the video sound when I generate a MP4 file. Workaround solution: Extract the sound from the video from Audacity, Cut the original sound of the two videos, Add a separate sound file in PTE project. In fact, everytime we want to work seriously on a video sound, the best way is to extract it in a separate file, because this allow us to ajust the volume. This is why even if problem 2 is a real problem, it is a minor one.
  6. Ken, I am ready to send all the needed files to any PTE developper, but presently, no developper participated to this topic.
  7. Hi, Ken. I plan to send the original file of the example I have already posted in this topic: The original file is 19 MB length, and I can't edit it correctly under PTE Video Converter. My original PTE project is here, in french, of course. I synchronize two videos: one from my camera, and the other one from Camstudio. If you read the file during 2 or 3 minutes, you will understand what I do under PTE, even if you don't understand the topic! I put the two videos in the same view, and I alternate the display of each video using Key points and Opacity. I keep only the sound of the Camstudio video. Everything runs fine in preview mode, but if I generate a MP4 file, I have no sound ! I extracted the sound from the video with Audacity and add it as a sound file under PTE, so I was able to create my Youtube project. I decided to prepare a short extract of these videos, only 30s, in order to submit the reduced project to Igor, but when I tried to edit the Camstudio video, I discoverd the bug. I presume that this bug which is at the origin of all my problems.
  8. Thank you Tom. . I will do that tomorrow
  9. Thank you, Tom. Could you please indicate me the process I have to follow to send this video to Igor ?
  10. When I use Freemake Video Converter I have no problem to edit the AVI file. The problem apears only with PTE VideoConverter. For me, CamStudio works fine and the fluidity, even not perfect, looks good. Here an example I posted under Youtube:
  11. Hello. I have a problem with AVI files generated by CAM Studio. When I try to cut them using Video Converter, the sound is no longer synchronized. Under CAM Studio, I use "x264vfw - H.264/MPEG-A AVC codec". could you suggest me an other Codec to use ? Thanks for your help. I tried to use PTE codec with CAM studio, but the screen image seems to be not recorded.
  12. Hi. I prefer option B. If this option is used, it will not be necessary to mention the style in PTE code, and the code will remain cleaner. This solution works if PTE adds a suffix to each filename coming from the style. Assume that each time a user creates or inports a new style, a unique number is automatically associated to this style. This number is not displayed. When a user applies a style containing an object named for instance "MyObject.jpg", PTE will add in the project folder a copy of this object named "MyObject(03528).jpg", assuming that 03528 is the number associated to this style.
  13. Hi, Denis. I am not sure of that. I created two styles, one with an object going from left to right, and one with an object going from right to left. The two styles use the same background image, and the two styles are present in my project. If I try to save this project as a template, I get the message "impossible to proceed because two slides having the same name are in différent folders".
  14. Hello. If the main interest of this new option is just to change the automatic setting of the fit/cover option, it is not something very usefull, and it would be more logical to add a trigger set to default just besides the existing option. I agree with Gary. Having a way to identify all the images used in a show is something far more useful:
  15. Presently, we can use for PTE the following audio files: WAV files MP3 constant bitrate files MP3 variable bitrate files OGG Vorbis Variable bitrate files All these types of files run correctly under PTE. If we use the default option for exe generation, all these audio files are included in the exe file in their original format, with no modification. PTE is also able to generate a MP3 file mixing all the audio clips used in a project. This MP3 file uses only Constant bitrate. Many users think that it would be great to have the possibility to generate an OGG file instead of the MP3 file, because generally, OGG files sound better.
  16. Great ! On a recent project, I had a sequences of 5 views, each of them including animations, commentaries, sound effects, and of course a background music. It was impossible for me to link the audio clips to the appropriate views ! Now I have a solution, and I'm confident that PTE v9 will offer what I need!
  17. I made a 4K PTE show several months ago. No problem to build it and run it on my PC with 2K screen. I launched it on an iMac with a 5K screen and it was perfect If you get a PC with a 4K screen and a good graphic card you will have no problem. I presume you will have no problem if you connect a portable PC to a 4K video projector.
  18. I work in the same way, with dozens of comment files. Each comment file is attached to the targetted slide, and the first music is attached to the second or third slide of the project. Finally, all the sound files are attached to a slide. Doing so, you can add, suppress slides with no synchronization loss, and you can also modify any slide duration and project duration.
  19. There is an other way. Load the music file under Audacity and reduce the duration of 10% without changing pitch. Command Effects - Change Tempo Nobody will detect the difference with the original. As stated before, you will have to modify each slide duration individually, in order to follow the tempo.
  20. Thank you Denis. Now the library is installed and it is very useful to get it directly under Audacity. One question remains: Is there a chance to use flac files under PTE ? It's not something important, but may be it could be fine for future uses ?
  21. Hello. Would it be possible under VideoConverter to extract the sound from a video and generate a .wav file, in order to trim it later under PTE ? I have a seen that the Flac format is performent and free. May be it would be better to extract the sound in flac format. Would it be possible to import in pte sonds in flac format, and of course convert them to .mp3 for the exe file ? Thank you in advance for your answears.
  22. + 1. It is really something we need.
  23. Hello. I use the video controls to manually control PTE during lectures. I would like to have the capability to keep pan and zoom reverse actions when I go backward. Assume that today I'm zooming on a painting, and then decide to go backward to show again the whole picture. It would be nice to obtain zooming back and panning back actions. Today, I can do that using the cursor, but it is not easy. This is why I would like to have the same controls that the ones we find on a video recorder : > Forward < Backward (rewind) >> next sequence (slide) << previous sequence (slide) It would be very usefull when videos are included in views.
